Disney By the Numbers April 2025 Exercise Challenge

Yes, anything with a heating element is likely to be confiscated (including things like hair dryers or straighteners). Ships are terrified of fires! The funny thing is that the list of prohibited items also includes appliances like microwave ovens, toasters, and rice cookers. Never thought of taking those types of things on my cruise vacation!
Look into Thermacare heat wraps. They’re terrific! Don’t use Salonpas - they are like ripping off a bandaid!

Congratulations to BonnieF for being the first to reach Pink, and welcome ktink, who jumps in at Purple!

All this talk about cruises made me look up some Disney Cruise Line numbers. DCL currently has 6 ships, with 2 more coming down the pike. They range in size from 875 to 1,254 rooms (2,713 to 4,000 passengers).

DCL also offers two private destinations--Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point--both in the Bahamas.

One of DCL's special features is the rotational dining program. Guests don't eat dinner at the same table every night, but instead they get to experience 3 different restaurants. The service staff rotates through the restaurants too, so guests keep their same waiter and assistant.

I couldn't find DCL-specific numbers, but I saw an article talking about the Sun Princess (6,000 passengers) that said every week they load 180 tons of food supplies and 50 tons of beverages and serve about 70,000 meals!

Since Sophy brought up the races - I've run two Disney half marathons. One number most folks wouldn't guess is 4:30AM, which is the absolute latest you can leave your hotel room to make it to the starting line on time. Another crazy number - the first resort hotel to the starting line bus leaves at 3:00am.

Oh my gosh, I forgot about that! Yes, super, super early. We switched over to Disneyland races and it was a lot easier because we always stay within walking distance of DLR. I think one time we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel so it was right outside.

Hi all! I knew this month would be crazy, but it’s all been fun. My husband and I are on a cruise - our first vacation together in over two years! Since our granddaughters came to live with us, life is upside down. Anyway, we’ve done a ton of walking this week - this ship is huge! I’ll add 250 minutes for the last week.

Yes, those ships are huge! We always try to take the stairs to help offset all the food we eat all week. And I like the ships that have a promenade deck or track that I can walk around. Enjoy your trip!
