Didn’t want to come home….Vero Beach (complete with photos now)!

Id love to hear more! I'm planning on staying next March before a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. I've watched a few YouTube videos and it looks amazing.

Spent most of our time at the resort, poolside and beachside. Rented cabana on beach for two days…DVC cost was $32 for two chaise lounges and cabana. The cabana was particularly nice to have as it was windy some days. Last day…they did not set up umbrellas and chaises due to high winds…

Some restaurants we ate at…
Trattoria Daria - this is a favorite of ours, yummy Italian food. Enjoyed artichoke appetizer, sautéed snapper and beggars purse pasta filled with ricotta and pears.

Ate many dinners at Wind and Wave Grill…menu doesn’t vary much except for specials but consistently good and very accommodating with substitutions. Here’s the crab cake appetizer from one night. IMG_8037.jpeg
Also ate at The Wave…good food, service was rushed and chaotic…meals we’re brought out before my appetizer but my seafood paella was delicious. IMG_8028.jpeg

Some more photos from The Wave…

We also tried Citrus Grillhouse for first time…food was good, portions were small and waitstaff was slow. This was a one and done for us.
Ate at the marketplace twice…good salads and sandwiches. Grilled chicken pita was our favorite and of course we had to get one of these.

Some random resort photos…IMG_8052.jpegIMG_8048.jpegIMG_8043.jpegIMG_8044.jpegWe did walk across to tennis courts and lakeside pavilion. Property that Disney sold is almost completely built with homes starting at 1.3 million, called Seaglass Homes. They already built a clubhouse next to Disney on road and will have beach access next to it.
Only negative during trip was renovation of kid’s splash pad and mini golf. Not so much that it was unavailable but more because they were airbrushing and fumes made it impossible to sit there.
Did get to watch a space launch one night which was pretty cool.

Already planning our trip next year…this was our fourth visit. On other trips we went to Cape Canaveral, kayaking, Bob’s Airboat Adventures and a visit to a Citrus Farm.

Thanks for the report! It's been hard to find recent reports from DVC members. I'm going to try for a one bedroom, but I will be happy with whatever I can get. I'll have a car, but mostly want to hang at the resort. If you only stayed 3 nights, would you have been happy just staying at the resort? We'd probably have a spa treatment and explore the area on foot or bicycle if they have rentals. I'm a year out, but very excited about visiting the resort.

Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing! Did you feel that 9 days was too long or just the right amount of time? We have four nights in mind right now. Thanks for all the food recommendations!

Yes do go to the spa…and ask for DVC discount (can’t remember if it was 10 or 20 percent) We booked when we got there, for three days after we arrived and were not able to get the same time, so if you’re only there for a short time, I would book ahead!
DVC discounts available for beach rentals, restaurants and more…
They do have bicycles…not sure of fees, and you can walk up the beach to Beach Bites for breakfast sandwiches and lunch!
We stocked up at Publix not far away for breakfast and lunch items most days!
I also ordered some items from Amazon! Vero Beach is one of the few Disney resorts that doesn’t charge delivery fee.
There’s also a lot of resort activities, this was more of a R & R vacation for us.
Honestly we stayed for ten days two years ago and went off-site three days and a few nights for dinner!
Enjoy your visit…definitely a Disney hidden gem!

This was an R & R vacation for us…so not too long!
Forgot to mention we both also had a spa day at Vero Beach…because we booked three days out when we got there, we couldn’t get same time. But both had exceptional treatments.
Don’t forget to ask for DVC discount!
The surrounding areas are beautiful…we love walking and would walk almost every day on the beach. Thinking of staying longer next year, Enjoy!

Took our first trip to Vero Beach last November
Recommend The Tides and Citron Bistro for dinner
Guided tours of McKee Botanical Gardens Tuesdays at 10:30 am!
The Tides was one of the restaurants we didn’t get to…already planning to go back next year so we’ll add it to our list!

Were there any rocket launches when you went? Is it close enough you could see them? It's been years since I've stayed in Vero!!
