Has anyone ever purchased the sneaker warrently from Dick's? I recently bought my son sneakers, and the sales clerk offered a $9 warrenty for a free replacement within 1 year. She stated if they even get dirty, I can call the toll free # provided and they will send a gift card for the purchase price of the sneakers ($75). Has anyone had any luck with this?

I think that sounds implausible that they would refund your money on dirty shoes.

Sounds like a good way for them to make $9 extra on their shoe sales.

We've never been offered a warranty for shoes bought there. They did stand behind their product for us though. Bought my middle son some shoes there last year for school, a plastic piece worked its way through and was scratching his ankle. We still had the receipt and box, they replaced without a problem. Actually didn't have his shoes there, not in stock in any nearby store either, they gave us full amount refunded and 10%off another pair.

I did do some googling and found this on Runners World forums:

Sounds like mixed results and there isn't a lot of information. Do you have a brochure? What I read and what you are saying reminds me of Best Buy warranties, a lot of people pushing the and promising the world but nothing in writing to back it up (until you pay for it and read the brochure).

I did something similar at sports authority and yes they take back your shoes for nay reason! its hte best plan ever and then you can add the plan again to the shoes you are getting.

DH bought this. He is really hard on his running shoes. About 4 months after buying them the toe started to come apart. They sent him a label so he could mail the shoes back to them and they sent a check for the purchase price.

Don't know about the shoes and I don't know if they still do, but Brookstone's had a policy of accepting returns for replacement or credit on any item for any reason. You could shoot something with a shotgun and they'd take it back and replace or give you credit for it.

If this is true on shoes then I'll be buying my kids shoes at Dicks!

I have a good friend who works at Dick's and she was working there when we bought DS17's football cleats. She has 4 boys and she buys it on all their shoes - says it's a great deal. They'll issue the gift card for the slightest reason - and you don't need to purchase the same item - you can use it on anything in the store.

I haven't tried to use it yet, but I trusted her opinion enough to buy the warranty, so we'll see after football season!

Something about this doesn't seem right. My ds is terrible on shoes. After he has worn them for a few months they usually have holes and the soles are falling apart. I can't believe that they would let me have my money back for normal (for him) wear and tear.

Also, we bought a pair of soccer cleats there in September and were not offered any type of warranty.

I just got a full refund plus tax for my son's cleats. He used them for spring/summer baseball season and then through the fall as well. The leather at the toe was peeling off. That's the only thing wrong. They said that it was no problem at all! :thumbsup2
