Developer Inn Kissimmee - 5055 Erlo Bronson Memorial Hwy - Is it okay?

We planned to come in really late one night (then moving to WDW resorts), and booked this budget hotel which had good reviews (new ownership/renovated) - but I also see bad reviews stating they used a bait and switch tactic, moved people to a worse hotel. Honestly, both the good and bad reviews look fake! Have any Disboard people stayed here in 2024? There are apparently two by a similar name near each other - this is the one at 5055 Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. All our usual hotels are super pricey that night 2/8/2025 :(

[Edited to add street number, thanks LaneJudy!]

I'm not familiar with the hotels, but it looks like there are 2 on Irlo Bronson Highway:
Developer Inn Express Fundamental at 5367 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy
Developer Inn Highway at 5055 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy

If people thought they were booked at one but were actually booked at the other, that might explain reviews stating they were moved to a different hotel. If they had in mind "it's the one on Irlo Bronson Hwy" (kind of like you posted) and then ended up at the wrong address.

I wouldn't trust it.
Personally, we prefer the Hyatt inside MCO for late arrivals but it’s not always in the budget.
When we need something inexpensive but still very clean/modern, we book on Hotwire in the airport region but don’t go below 3.5-4*. This rules out the possibility of getting something like a Quality Inn which is more like a 2-2.5*.

I wouldn't stay anywhere on 192 (Irlo Bronson Highway), even if you paid me and gave me a free room. My brother was a police officer in Kissimmee... Look into the Flamingo Crossing or the LBV area (not necessarily on Hotel Plaza Boulevard).

You don’t say what your budget is, but I found this 3* that looks decent and only $112+taxes. Free airport shuttle and free breakfast. When I click on “What hotel will I get?” It shows that it would be either Hyatt Place or Wingate Inn. They both sound better than a place with very mixed reviews.
HTH.

ETA: This search is for 2 adults, 1 night on Feb 8. You may get different results if you have children or more than 2 adults in your travel party.

I’ve stayed in several of the Developer Inn-owned properties. They all underwent top-bottom refurbs and are among the better values to stay in within the WDW area.

Random crime is rare in Kissimmee. Nobody’s going to break into your room and harm you. Seriously, what’s up with this board? We last stayed at the Express Fundamental through Hotwire (we knew which property we’d get) for just over $35 - including taxes and (resort) fees. When all you need is a bed to crash for a few hours, why pay $350 for the Hyatt MCO?

I’ve never paid even $200 for the Hyatt MCO and have stayed there many times. It’s a super convenient location for late arrivals or early departures. Also, it’s reliably clean and I’ve never seen a bug. People will pay a lot for that assurance vs. a cheap, unknown chain/brand motel that’s 40 minutes ride from the airport.

Developer Inn is the ownership group and they include their name in each property’s name, but they are branded - e.g. the property the OP is considering is branded as a Ramada whereas the other is a Travelodge.

Consider yourself lucky. The lowest rate currently available (for any date) tops $200 (again with taxes and fees). Most dates, including the OP’s, are pricing at $350-$400. That’s a lot of money to pay for convenience… most people staying there are traveling for business, which is why the few low rates around Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year’s.

It’s not luck. There were websites that guided people how to know you’re getting the Hyatt on Hotwire. That was a while ago and haven’t used them lately.
Then for a while Costco had great promo codes.
Nowadays I use credit card points.

I just stayed last week at Flamingos Crossing. Since I'm local (about 45 minutes) to WDW, sometimes I will try various hotels that are ultra-close to WDW property. That being said, the hotel was very reasonably priced and had a nice pool/hot tub and decent breakfast (included). It's also nice to have a Target (with grocery) across the street.

MCO for that night, member rate is $278 before taxes, I got this place for under $100 a few weeks ago. The hotel I'm asking about is 20-30 minutes from the airport - but enroute to WDW so no actual travel time "lost." As to bugs, that is my terror but I'm reasonably careful even at the top WDW resorts since you don't know what the last guest brought with them, downside of changing hotels during a stay always reminds me, every airport connection and every room change pretty much doubles your risk of picking up something (sad face).

I will add I no longer book hotels thru any third party site. I've stood in the lobby Multiple times and heard people fighting about their reservation issues and the hotels always treat those guests like bottom of the barrel clients. There is a cute budget hotel in California I use which has a row of rooms facing the freeway that they assign to all third party site guests, those rooms are horrid and the rest of the hotel is lovely. Those guests save very little for what they give up. I want the quiet rooms and the polite service ;)

Is this hotel near Disneyland?
