Denise's New Focus on Fitness-Friends and Support Welcome!

I am so happy for you about the wig, Denise! :goodvibes I can imagine that gets pretty hot in the summertime.

Your bag sounds cute! That's cool that it's reversible. :thumbsup2 I admit...I love Vera Bradley bags too! It's funny because I bought myself a bag last year (for the first time in years) and then turned around a couple of weeks later and bought myself the Vera Bradley that I really, really wanted. ;)

Your goals for the week look good! You CAN do it, Denise!!!!!:cheer2:

Hope you have a nice evening!

Hi Denise, hope your 4th of July was a good one and that your week is off to a good start!:goodvibes

Hope things are going well, Dee! Have a great weekend!

Thanks for visiting girlfriends!

Time to catch up again...

Health-feeling good except for the knees. I bought a cane at my Dr.'s suggestion. I use it occasionally to take some of the pressure off of my left knee which is the worst. It also helps with my balance since I walk so lopsided. I found a really cute one at CVS complete with multi-colored butterflies. If I have to use a cane for now, it might as well be a pretty one. LOL!

I have a dental appt. tomorrow with a specialist. I'm having some gum and bone issues due to the chemo. Ugh! When will it end?

Work-Can you believe it, I was asked to go full-time? Someone in the dept. is moving and I was offered her schedule. I said yes at first but then I thought about my upcoming surgery and all the preliminary appts. and all my other medical stuff, so I really do need to keep Wed. as my off day. I'm supposed to discuss it again with my mgr. on Thurs. so I hope we can come to some kind of compromise with my schedule. If not I'll just remain part-time and keep the same schedule.

Weight, food, exercise-Status quo...need to kick it up a notch!

We spent last weekend in Hershey and Harrisburg with DD and and our other family. We had a really nice time, ate too much at the company picnic but it was a lot of fun. I felt really weird though-I rented a wheelchair on Friday night but it was so hilly and tough to use when going downhill so I rented an ECV on Sat. which was great but made me feel old and creaky. I'll be so happy when I'm able to walk more normally again.

To be continued...

51 days till WDW and Freedom! (of the Seas)

Yikes, our vacation is coming up so quickly it will be here before we know it. I've been making so many mental checklists that I decided to put it down on paper today. It feels good to check things off and makes the anticipation even more exciting.

Today is my day off so I'm catching up from being away for 3 days over the weekend. I have this urge to do some heavy cleaning and organizing so things will be in order for Oct. when I have the surgery. We have a bunch of things going on between now and then including Sue's baby shower. Fun times!

I emailed my hair stylist today because she's no longer at the same salon, so hopefully she'll get back to me and I can make an appt. for a trim. I'm coloring it myself for now with semi-permanent stuff but I figure the week before vaca I'll get her to do it for real. Its growing pretty well but I don't have any bangs cause the curl makes it pull away from my forehead. I guess I'll just have to be patient.

Guess I should go and continue to be productive. I hope everyone is having a good week and doing the things you need to do while having some fun too!

Woohoo!!! Only 51 days til your vacation! Ours is 60 days away and I can't wait!!! :dance3:

I'm glad you had a nice time last weekend!:goodvibes

Hope you have a nice evening!

Wow Denise, your trip is close!

I think you made a wise choice to not go full time. You have a lot going on. And you must be doing a great job if they want you there all the time!:thumbsup2

When is Sue's baby due? That's your dil right?

You do not look old and creaky! Those ECCV's are designed to keep you feeling young and energized.

So sorry about the dental problems, that is not fun I am sure.

Good morning ladies!!!!!

48 days to Freedom and still above 190 which stinks.

So, I've decided to attend WW meetings again which I haven't done in maybe 2 years. I signed up for Monthly Pass last night which is an excellent value when it comes to WW, only problem is we're on the border of 2 WW franchises so the closest meeting which takes MP is about 8 miles away. I figure that I've got 7 weeks before the cruise and then another 5 weeks or so until the surgery so taking care of me during that time is crucial. My gym membership payments don't start back up until Oct. at which time I'll have to put it on hold again while I'm recuperating.

Are any of you attending meetings at this point or going it on your own? I feel like I really need some group support in the upcoming weeks, so WISH me well. Thanks!!!!

Amy- Yes, Sue is my DIL and she is due on Oct. 29. Let's pray that the baby doesn't come early while I'm in the hospital with my knee.

I got my hair trimmed and shaped a little bit yesterday. Turns out my stylist is at another shop in the same town as before. Needless to say I am very happy about that!

Gotta go and start breakfast. DH will be home shortly. He worked 4-10am this morning. Love that OT for vacation money!

Denise, good job going back to WW. I am planning to re sign up myself in the next week. I love the monthly pass and yes, its the best value all the way around. You'll get under 190 very soon!

As soon as I posted, I remembered Sue is due about the same time I was with Matthew (sixteen years ago though ;)) Halloween babies are fun and by Christmas, they are at their cutest! What a fun time for you. Hopefully this baby will keep up with the typical first baby and not be early! Do they know if its a boy or girl yet?

Your post reminded me to call my hair stylist tomorrow!

Great job on going back to WW! :goodvibes We're cheering you on to victory!!! You CAN do it, Denise!:cheer2:

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Need to post some goals...

WW and pool on Sat.

Journal religiously

Review vacation budget (more about that later)

Have a great start to your weekend!!!!!

Count me as another one who will be re-joining ww again soon....hopefully for the LAST time! Like Tracy said you'll be below 190 very soon!

Prayers for the baby and your knee surgery that they don't happen at the same time!

Have a great weekend!

Hi Denise,

Have a nice Sunday!

:bday: to you!!!!

I hope you have a wonderful day ahead, my friend! Any special plans?

35 Days till vaca!!! I can officially get the suitcases out of the attic on Wed. to set out in our spare bedroom. One step closer to our trip!

Thanks for the birthday wishes Traci!

I always get in a contemplative mood on my b-day and try to set some new goals, look at my life from many different angles, and just try to be a better "me" all the way around. Its kind of like a cleansing and a new beginning for me-all in a good way.

Today we're going to my son's for a swim and cook-out with the family. It looks like a beautiful day with low humidity and sunshine. Yesterday the girls at work had a celebration for me. It was very touching! Everyone was so sweet with their gifts and greetings and lots of yummy food and a beautiful cake. We've actually been celebrating since Wed. Gary and I drove down to Atlantic City to Harrah's so we could hear a band that we like. They're called Parrot Beach and they're a Jimmy Buffet tribute band. We sat out on the deck at the marina, had some great bar food and I had a couple of Key Lime Surprises (girly drink). Its been fun!

Needless to say my birthday binging has gotten in the way of me being a good WW. However I am holding steady and maybe by my Wed. WI I'll be down a couple of lbs. I have been journaling even if I can't determine the points of all the foods. Just getting in the habit of writing everything down is important for me.

Cruise update...RC has dropped their prices for our sailing and I've been able to switch our cabin. If fact I think I've done it 4 times. We qualify for the 55 plus discount and right now we have a family oceaview which has 2 bedrooms (one is a tiny bunkroom-more like a big closet), a nice living area and the greatest thing is 4 large windows which span the front of the ship overlooking the heliport and the "King of the World" area. We're very excited about the size of the cabin. Since its only the 2 of us we can really spread out for the week. All this for a base price of $749.00 pp. Gotta love it!

Gotta go and get my act together. I have a couple of phone calls to make and some other minor stuff. No housework on my b-day. LOL!

Thanks for supporting me and being my WISH friends!!!!!

Denise, I didn't know it was your birthday! Happy Birthday a bit late, it sounds like you had some great celebrations. Ahh, girly drinks on the deck listening to a good band!:cloud9:

That is awesome you got that cabin upgrade. I so want to take an RCL. What a great trip you guys will have, definitely time to get those suitcases out!:woohoo:

24 days till Epcot and cruising!

Thanks for the birthday wish Amy! It wasn't late...birthdays can be celebrated 2 weeks before thru 2 weeks after. In fact, I may be meeting an old friend today to continue the celebration. LOL!

So, I got the suitcases out and started to fill mine with stuff I won't be using until the cruise. I ordered some packing organizers from Ebags which were disc. colors but who cares? I got burnt orange for Gary and a deep pink for me. They won't arrive till the 17th so at that point I can organize and really begin the packing in earnest. We are each taking one large bag and a carry-on that will fit under the seat. We are also taking the wheelchair so I can get around on that huge ship. We really need to have a plan as to how we can maneuver everything. Thankfully I don't need the wheelchair full time so I do use it kind of like a walker at times. Gary can piggy-back the suitcases and I can walk with the carry-ons in the chair. Crazy that we have to think about all this stuff in advance. I will be so happy to have my knee replacement in Oct.!!!!!!

I finally did it! I weighed in at 189.5 last week. I haven't been below 190 in over a year so I am very happy about that! I also bought a book on water workouts that the WW site recommended so I'll be able to have some new ideas and mix up my exercise a little.

Gonna go and make all the phone calls for medical and other stuff. I guess I probably shouldn't save all that for my day off. Gotta spread things out a little.

Forgot to tell you...we are going to the shore on Aug 23-25. My cousin's house is available so we're going to take a couple of days to relax. I haven't taken any time off all summer, so this will be fun!

Enjoy your day!

Denise, your trip is very close!! Always the best feeling in life isn't it?

Good job having a plan with the luggage, you don't want to be figuring all that out the day before you go!

That will be so nice for you and Gary to go to the shore. Can I come too?

And a big CONGRATULATIONS on that weigh in! That must feel so good, you have worked hard for this so give yourself a big pat on the back!!!:woohoo:

Congratulations on weigh-in!!!!:cheer2:

I bet you are getting so excited for your cruise and Disney trip!

That's great that you'll get to go to the shore next weekend. :goodvibes I hope you have a wonderful time!:wizard:

Have a nice weekend!
