DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
I only know you through this forum. I don't even know your real name (nor you, mine)... I wouldn't dream of asking for a perk!
And that would be the same for people I don't contact on a regular basis... heck, I don't do that with people I do contact on a regular basis! I figure if it's something that they would want to do, then fine... but I certainly would never ask. Just... hmmm... not sure if "rude" or "stupid" fits here.
It’s funny, the guy from high school worked for the cable company I paid a lot of money to every month for cable and crappy internet. I should have asked him, did I ask you to hook me up with free cable and internet? But I didn’t think quick enough. lol.
Close friends from Pennsylvania are coming down later this week, I took off. I’ve known them literally my entire life. We are going to spend a day in the Magic Kingdom, thank god they didn’t say Epcot lol. When my wife goes to Pennsylvania, she stays at their house. They are going to be my guest. A few rules, those tickets are not unlimited and I have to stay with them. I can’t leave them there. Here’s the big one, I’m responsible for them. Example, they get drunk and start flipping tables, picking fights, I get shown door. The company takes it very seriously, you get caught leaving your party, clean out your locker.
They tell you, make sure you know your guest well, it’s your reputation and your job on the line.

Sorry if I offended you, the intentions of my post was just to state that I know both of your names. Sorry again.
Oh, no, no, no! Not offended in the least. :flower3:
I was just saying that even if you know someone well enough to know their name, that's not enough of a basis to impose upon them.
I think I'd be perfectly happy saying "Hey! I'm going to be in town on Saturday, wanna meet up?" But I wouldn't expect to be taken around on a tour, or have you pay for my dinner, or... any of a number of things.
However, if you said "Let me show you around!" or were quicker than I was and paid for our meal, I'd be very thankful. :)

Ha! Opportunity lost!

Pretty harsh... but also... pretty fair. I mean... you should know the people you want to treat, no?

Anyone planning on heading down, don’t be afraid to look me up, no I don’t have free tickets or meal or resort coupons. lol.
Looks like we'll be there in August! Can't wait to message you and pick up all my free stuff!

Seriously, though, I'll text you when the dates are closer. Would be great to FINALLY say hi in person.

I'm sorry... then why are we looking you up, exactly??

:lmao:
:rotfl2::rotfl2:
I was going to just post a laughing emoji, but... unfortunately, there are people out there who are more than happy to take advantage or "be friends" with someone only for what they can get out of it.
I call these people "employers".

I totally agree. Friendship shouldn't come with a price. I wouldn't dream of asking for favors, either. If you choose to do something nice for me, that's a wonderful thing and I will be extremely grateful, but I'm certainly not entitled to special treatment.

Wow! I had no idea, that's really no joke. It does make sense, though.

(note to self: no flipping tables at Biergarten)

Pro tip: @pkondz is EXTREMELY quick on the draw. I'm practicing reaching for the check faster for next time so I feel less guilty.

Your, free loader, welcome to Florida gift bag. lol.
Rules are always made because some JA either tried it, or did it. lol

I always use the one, could you imagine you taking me to your place of employment, getting me all liquored up and letting me run free? lol.
I’ve seen me action, you wouldn’t have a job the next day. lol.

Good point.

Most accurate statement ever!

Oh, go ahead. Apparently it's not your head that will roll.

Learn to live with guilt. Embrace it. Become one with the guilt...
could you imagine you taking me to your place of employment, getting me all liquored up and letting me run free? lol.
Might be kinda fun, just to watch.
