We will be disembarking from the Fantasy on January 15th at Port Canaveral. 2 adults and 2 kids (10yr and 7yr). Our flight home is at 8 am on January 16th. I'm trying to figure out what we should do on the 15th. We will not have a rental car so we will have all our luggage to drag around. I am debating getting a hotel with a free MCO shuttle for the early morning on the 16th. Hoping they will hold our luggage early on the 15th and we can go uber somewhere to do something for 5 hours before our room would be available. What would you suggest for this 5 hour window that isn't too expensive. I was also considering getting a one night room at Disneyworld. I checked and we would get free water park passes for the check in day (it might be too cold however). We also haven't been on the skyliner yet, so we could check that out. We could go to Disney Springs. I know Disney would hold our luggage early and there is plenty to keep us busy for a day without spending money on a park day. WWYD?

I'm considering either POP for about $150/night or Caribbean Beach for $215/night. We haven't stayed at either before. The MCO airport hotel I'm leaning towards is $190/night.

Thoughts and Opinions Please!

As it’s one night, I would choose POP. If water park closed (you won’t find out until day before), you could go to a park ($$$) or you could use the skyliner to get to boardwalk and go do mini golf (shortish walk but easy), then Hang out in board walk area, go back to pop, exploring Caribbean, and AoA, use POP pool - easily fill the day.

With a cost comparable to an airport hotel, I would go with a Disney hotel because you would have free transportation to interesting places. There is not much to do near the airport, and there would be a cost to get anywhere other than the airport.

Agree 1000% mco area doesnt have anything fun to do so getting another uber from there to a place to do something fun is probably more expensive than the cost from wdw to mco the bext morning

Without a car and having luggage I would book a WDW hotel. Plenty to do-swim etc. They will hold your luggage early. As others have mentioned, Disney springs, water park. Should pass the time quite nicely.

Does anyone have experience with Drury near Universal Studios? I’m considering this as an option too. They have a free shuttle to universal. We’ve never been…is there much to do at city walk with the kids. I like the idea of their indoor/outdoor pool and the 5:30 kickback that includes drinks and food. Total for that stay is like $145 with tax.

The Endless Summer Resort - Dockside has standard rooms for your dates. It comes to $146 with tax, and it is right on Universal Studios property. My son and his family stayed there and loved it.

City Walk is pretty small compared to DS. It’s mainly restaurants, a big Universal store. There’s mini golf and movie theater.

There is Drury by Disney Springs with a bigger pool and dining area than the one by Universal.

We once went to Animal Kingdom on the day after a cruise. All day we felt like we were still at sea! It took a few days to get our land legs back! Going to the parks area would be a good option, even if you don't get tickets.
