Current work at the Fort

I want to add that @proudmomof4 's pictures of the recent construction progress (post #24) make me wince because the new resort is SO close behind Pioneer Hall (HDDR, TE, Crocketts). I'm afraid the look will instantly change when you step over a crack in the sidewalk between the two.
Not that I'll feel bad for the DVC owner, but what kind of view from your room or balcony will this have that look out to the backside of Pioneer Hall? Even if they put in big trees, as close as they are, you could probably reach out and touch a tree from the balcony.

I hope there is some effort to properly blend the western frontier look of the Settlement area and transition it to whatever-the-heck the new resort will look like. I'm afraid the look will instantly change when you step over a crack in the sidewalk between the two.

Oh its close alright... You can throw a chicken leg or a rib bone from the back corner of Crockett's and hit the back of the new building... This is why I think the Settlement Bus Stop will be shared between the 2 resorts...

Duane,

I think you just gave us the next Fort photo topic. We have had "Kickin' it at the Fort" with feet on the rails outside TE for a long time. Now we can have a "Chicken wing on the Balcony" section. Just like Kickin' It, depending on what rail your feet are on, points awarded for the how high the balcony you get your chicken bone to land. :rotfl:

(And just to stay in the sheriff's (Denise) good graces... This is a joke)

Have a question for Bama Ed since he posted that he visited DL Paris when first opened. Post #38
Did you happen to see the Buffalo Bills Wild West Themed Show ?
Very interesting history for the native performers that Disney respectfully hired .

No we didn't see it, @DL1WDW2. We only had 2 nights at EuroD which was 1.5 days in the park then to the hotel in Paris near the airport for the return flight home. And on arrival day, we had to take the milk run train (TER) that stopped at every little town from Menton to Nice along the Riviera and then TGV to EuroD getting in late in the day and to the hotel and set up there.

Oh that looks HORRIBLE! And that's only the (I think) first 2 floors of a (IIRC) 5 to 7 story building.

There will not be trees tall enough or thick enough to hide that monstrosity.

Do you think, or did you see signs saying this was going to be a DVC Sales Center? This is the area that I mentioned earlier could be them enlarging the bus pickup area...
I was poking around on the WDWMagic forums and found a thread about permits and notice of commencements. I hope your thoughts are correct and that it's not this.
