Just curios if anyone has bought any of the in room gifts for the cruise line? does any one have an recommended gift packages or pictures of the ones you bought? looking at the cruise website they don't give you good pictures or descriptions of what you actually get in the packages if you order one.

This was waiting in our stateroom upon arrival. DH ordered them for me for our anniversary via DCL's site.

They were a wonderful little surprise and I loved seeing them every day of our cruise. Knowing that they would not make them back to the States (and through customs) and another flight home, I left them for a member of the cruise staff at Guest Services on our way off the ship. They were enjoyed for almost two weeks, by both myself and the member of the cruise staff. Now THAT'S money well spent in my opinion.

I don't have pictures that I can post, but I have ordered a fair amount of stuff online as gifts.

I ordered the rose floral arrangement and it was very nice. Good size flowers that lasted very well during our 7 day cruise. I don't know if I would order flowers for a shorter cruise, as you must leave the flowers in your cabin at the end of the cruise.

We also had one of the memory box packages. In my view, this package wasn't really worth it. It turned out that the memory box was far too big for me to pack in our luggage, so I had to leave it in our cabin at the end of the cruise.

Also ordered the fruit and cheese plate, which turned out to be too big for only 2 people. In future I intend to order the smaller plate that is available room service, and save the cost of the larger plate.

We also pre-ordered the wine package as a gift. Next time around I am going to wait until I see the ship's full wine list before ordering the package--particularly since I want to order from the wine list at Palo when we have dinner there, and I want to try the wine pairing at Remy too.

All in all, a very mixed bag. Even when you call DCL with questions about the gifts, the people answering the phones don't have a lot of details.

I was thinking of flowers last time for my parents but I had no ida you are no allowed to take them back off the ship. I am glad we decided to do some gifts onboard instead.

I ordered the Bon Voyage room decorations. It came with a table centerpiece, a door magnet, hanging banner, hanging streamer, and a cake. It was nice and a great surprise to my mom and sister

We ordered the Bon Voyage package on our first DCL cruise. Now, I pack the stuff each time and sneak to the room before our kids and put it up for them. $50 well spent, as they have gone on 3 cruises, soon to be 4!

How far in advance can you order in room thingies? Our cruise isn't until June but between now and then we have Easter, the end of taxes, the end of school and a move to another state to get through. I'm trying to stay organized and not forget anything. LOL Like that's going to happen..

We ordered the birthday celebration and, while expensive, I think they did a really good job. The best part was the room was decorated when my son went to open the door. He had no idea.

We brought the decorations home and use them now for birthdays at the house.

We have ordered another birthday celebration for our daughter's birthday on our cruise next month.

The cake is small, but it was good.

We also got a Memory box last time, that I don't think is offered now. All the things we have ordered looked just like the pictures on the website.

I ordered the champagne and petit fours for our first cruise:

It was a lovely assortment; I think the champagne was Marti & Assot (or something like that). It was a nice way to toast the start of our first ever cruise (which we did from our giant balcony at sailaway).

I had also order the Minnie gear (which at the time was a purse and a change purse). I think it was $15. A good value and good quality stuff.

I'm glad to hear that! When my husband seen the $50 charge on the credit card, he said you paid how much for what?
I ordered the Birthday celebration for my son. He will turn 14 on our upcoming Fantasy cruise.
He doesn't know so I can't wait to see DS's face when he opens our stateroom door.

Is the plastic ice bucket still available with the wine or apple cider package? Im thinking of ordering for my 2 daughters upcoming cruise with their families and thought it would be a nice surprise!:thumbsup2

We drive to port so luggage wasn't an issue; I ordered the wedding/anniversary memory box for our honeymoon. It still holds all the souvenirs from our trip. I was going to order the birthday one for DD to do the same thing for our upcoming MR, but they don't have them anymore, just Congratulations and Bon Voyage as part of larger packages. :P

What kind of cake was this and how good was it?

The "Bon Voyage" decorations, are they in your stateroom when you board or do you have to put them up yourself?

I ordered the birthday celebration for my DD for our upcoming October Dream cruise last week. We are leaving port on her birthday, the cruise is a surprise. She will find out about the cruise that morning, so I figured why not have the room decorated as well....:rotfl:

What about using Shirley from (i think its) the perfect gift and flower shoppe? She has a whole thread on here and she'll customize whatever you're looking for. Her feedback is all positive and her prices are reasonable. If I wasn't on my phone I'd try to link to her thread but maybe someone else can provide the link. Just another option to think about.

I'm hoping to order the Bon Voyage package (if they still have it by the time we cruise in Oct./13) but those petit fours look delicious too!
