Cozumel Excursions - Recommendations?

We (me, wife, daughters 11 & 12) will be cruising on the Disney Wonder out of Galveston Dec 3-7. We have one stop in Cozumel and are considering excursions.

Since out 11 year old will not yet be fully vaccinated before we go, we have to go on excursions through Disney.

Any recommendations or experience with Cozumel excursions?

We really enjoyed the Chocolate and tequila tour, but that one is not great for kids.

If you want something a little more active, both the Punta Sur Eco park and the Fury catamaran are fun. Punta Sur includes a tour of the park and beach time which can include snorkeling. Fury includes snorkeling from their boat, which has a ramp to easy to get on and off. They also have a private beach area with a aqua park that all sorts of things to climb on.

If you know it's going to be a weather day and still want to get off ship, go underwater. Maybe the sub expedition or, if adventurous, the helmet dive. They are pricey though. If the weather is nice, snorkeling, the catamaran, or the buggy ride and snorkel would be good. It's a bit of travel, but you also can't really go wrong with the Xel-Ha trip either (although that's almost a 2-day park).

My family loved the catamaran.....it was their favorite of all excursions they have been on.

The submarine was canceled on our cruise.

We just did Isla Passion and it was fine - but not great. The best part was the actual sand and water which were to die for!

We did the inland DCL excursion to Chichen Itza. The great pyramid is there, as well as other archeological attractions. It takes a few hours of travel each way to get there and back (a ferry and a van ride), but it's a truly memorable destination and part of history. Your daughters are the right age to appreciate it. One minor nice touch was on the way there, the van driver gave out iPads with an interactive site for historical/cultural information.

We’ve done the Fury catamaran and it’s really good. A nice ride, good snorkeling and then their private beach with kayaks, paddle boards and large inflatables to climb and slide down. ( and beverages included as well)

They aren't going to the mainland at the moment from what I can tell. We are on the cruise just prior to this one and none of the mainland excursions were offered.

Another vote for the Fury Catamaran. Just returned from 5 nt on the Magic and the excursion was a huge hit with our entire party.

If they have the Jeep excursion we have done it twice. Once through Disney and once we booked it on our own which is less expensive but unfortunately not an option for you this time.

I suspect that is because the ferry to the mainland is not “Disney only” so they can’t maintain a Disney bubble for the excursion.

That was my thought as well. It's unfortunate, but there are still a lot of great excursions on the island itself.
