Could adult only cruises be in the future?

Smoothies, makeovers, upcharge ice cream spot all come to mind... but then, adults do those things for themselves too. I suspect at least some adults might purchase more alcohol if children weren't present so maybe that'd be a wash...

Would think that alcohol usage would go up on an adult-only. Would also think that there would be more seminars and classes geared to adults. Not sure how they'd do it but could also seem them creating another dining option that costs more. Maybe a premium menu at the rotating restaurants?

And yea, forgot about BBB. I could see the spa making up that revenue though.

Disney wouldn't have a hard time finding ways to provide people with a way to part from their money that they would have otherwise spent on their children.

Got a similar survey after our January 11 Treasure sailing.

Can't image Disney would ever offer an adult only sailing on their ships. What would they do with all the space the kids clubs occupy? And the merchandise and experiences directed at the younger set? Just won't happen.

I could see them offering a drink package though. Do they still have the wine package?
On longer sailings they do adults only activities in the Club so that the adults can experience it too. They are very popular! They also do sometimes host things for YA there and we have had Cast activities in there too

They could offer an adult BBB package- They have it on Pirate Night so it could be done in other styles (and yes I can see adults doing it). They could offer an adult only tea (with or without characters) as a replacement for Royal Tea and yes it would also likely sell out.

I can actually think of a lot of add ons DCL could charge for an adult only sailing- Maybe a late night PJ Party in the kids club with characters with an food\drink component for an additional charge?

More Bingo for sure.

Maybe offer a special lunch dining tasting (again for additional $) in a main dining room where the chef explains the dishes (an elevated Anyone Can Cook style)?

Honestly I cant see DCL losing money on this- especially if it was offered only once a year, during an already low crowd season like early Sept.

I'd be shocked if they ever did a true adults only cruise, but I would love for them to offer a drink package.

Disney could charge a premium (above what they already do) for a once a year Adult Only Sailing. Set it in Early Sept (mostly already adults on those cruises anyway) and it will sell out before it hits Gold Booking day.

Things they would need to offer to make it really work-
7 Nights or Longer
A Disney Guest Speaker (Two would be better)
Character Meets (maybe rare ones) held in the Kids Club daily
Events held in the kids club like crafts
Music Trivia being held in at same time, same questions in two locations (like D Lounge and Evolution\Tube)
Match Your Mate in held in the theater, and this might also work well for games like Pop.
Use the Vibe\Edge for Video Games tournaments (I know many adults who love video games)
Give the adult only sailings a cute name- Make merch but keep years off of it, sell it annually on the sailing each year until stock is gone
Offer an adult only afternoon tea (maybe with characters, maybe without) for an up-charge
Offer BBB adult only makeovers (with a special name to make it clear only for this one sailing) for an up-charge

And there is a 0% chance DCL would lose money on it. In fact they could offer more drink tastings and I think adults on an adult only cruise would spend more on alcohol purchases than what DCL would potentially lose out on kid's onboard merch (and even then adults will still buy stuff for the kids in their lives)

I honestly cannot believe DCL hasn't done it yet.
One of my favorite things as a performer is to see adults have the experience of meeting characters that influenced their childhoods. I have also heard so many stories from people of how characters/movies were the magic that got them through tough times in their lives, and it is so special to be part of that.
I love my interactions with adults just as much as with children.
I think the activities you listed above would be awesome, and I would love to be a CM on an adults only cruise!

Another line does a galley tour with cooking demo followed by a meal. That would be a cool thing to do with or without kids on board. Just a general behind the scenes tour of the ship would be fun and an easy way to make some revenue.

I could see them doing a series of adult only cruises. One adult-only Alaskan, one adult-only Caribbean long, one Caribbean short, one European, one out of San Juan, one out of Galveston. I would think this wouldn't come around until the launch of the ship after Destiny.
