I admire this. There's something seriously wrong with anyone who would mock you for it.
And I don't think you need to justify or explain it to anyone. ...
In any case, I wish I had that kind of time and dedication. I try to limit fast food to once a week -- and sometimes fail even in that small goal.
Hey, we're far (FAR!) from perfect. I almost didn't post at all, because I didn't want to come off as sanctimonious or preachy. At the same time I'm reading every label on everything I buy (while overall trying to avoid buying food that needs to have an ingredient list at all) and trying so hard to avoid processed food, I'm loading my cart with diet Coke--which has NO nutritional value and is nothing BUT unpronounceable chemicals--because I have a serious soda monkey on my back.
Plus, I'm a mostly stay-at-home mom (work part-time from home) who actually enjoys cooking, giving me more time and incentive than many have.
Speaking of time and dedication, I admire people who enjoy exercise. I've set a very modest goal of 20 minutes three times a week and still almost always fall short. I also have yet to write in my three-year-old's "baby" book. Everyone has things they find it easier to be "good" at.
