I have been searching of VRBO and typing in Windsor Hills. Quite a few properties from Crestwynd Bay pop up in the results. I looked on the map and it looks like they are in the same place. However, the pool at CB looks a lot different from the WH ones.
What is going on? Are these the same place? Why does CB come up as WH in my searches and in the same location?
If they are different is CB a nice place to stay as well?
Help me!

I've never stayed there but think Crestwynd Bay is the turning just before WH. The properties run a little in front of the WH boundary if you look on a map.

You're not crazy -- they aren't the same place. I get so annoyed looking through VRBO because it happens all. the. time lately that condos aren't in the right category. I'm not sure if it's a keyword thing -- that those posting the ads are deliberately placing them in categories/subdivisions they don't belong -- or if it's something VRBO is doing on their side.

Okay, this makes a little more sense!

Has anyone ever stayed there before?

We are staying in Crestwynd Bay right now. We've been here all week. It is a nice development. The home is 3-bedroom, 3-bath and very comfortable. It is a great location, gated community. I don't really have anything negative to say about it. I don't think there are any resort amenities other than the pool, though. Windsor Palms has a clubhouse, sports courts, exercise room, etc. I don't think any of that exists here.

Yes- same here. You need to watch carefully as the keywords don't always match results. Price point is a good tip-off though. If it looks a lot different than pricing for WH, I double-check location :)

So it seems pretty nice and safe there? Thank for your feedback!

Yes, we certainly felt safe.

The one thing I would mention is that Crestwynd Bay seems to have a higher percentage of permanent residents as opposed to some developments that are mainly tourists. This has pros and cons. It's just something to be aware of. Personally, I think it gives the place a more homey feel when people aren't constantly checking in and out and hauling luggage back and forth.

I have just run into this same problem when putting Windsor Hills in the search at Homeway. So I decided to do a search of Crestwynd Bay on the Dis which is where I originally learned of Windsor Hills. I had never heard of Crestwynd Bay before on the Dis - it appears that Bonnet Creek and Windsor Hills are the two major ones used here.

Any more people who have stayed at both that can compare them for me? We're looking at making a rather last minute trip at the very beginning of the summer and the availability/prices of Crestwynd Bay seem better than Windsor Hills. We'd like a 3 bedroom if possible that sleeps 7 and there seem to be many options with Crestwynd Bay.

Can someone tell me about the distance from both to Disney? On the map they appear to be almost identical? Does it take the same amount of time from both or does one have a different entrance area that has more traffic/etc?

The pool in Creswynd Bay doesn't appear to be as nice, but we're probably adding the waterpark option to our tickets. We plan to spend most days at the theme parks with 1/2 days at the waterparks here and there I'm not sure that a really nice pool is worth the extra expense since everything with the actual units looks pretty comparable to Windsor Hills. We won't use the clubhouse or other amenities either probably. For people who have stayed there, are the units comparable to Windsor Hills?

Are there any hidden fees at Crestwynd Bay - parking, resort fee, etc?

Also, when we've been to Disney before we stayed at a friend's timeshare (not either of the ones above) so we didn't need to make sure everything was legit. How does everyone make sure everything is legit besides reading the reviews? Or maybe that's all I need to do? The prices are so good I feel like I need to do something else to ensure that everything works out and we aren't going to get there and find that we have no place to stay.

We've been renting vacation homes in Kissimmee for 20 years and I had also never heard of Crestwynd Bay until a few months ago. It popped up when I was searching for Windsor Hills. The home looked very nice, though, and we booked it. We spent a week there in January and we were very pleased. I commented earlier in this thread. It was a beautiful 3-bedroom, 3-bath townhouse. Two bedrooms on the 2nd floor with a bathroom in the master bedroom and a 2nd bathroom in the hall. Washer and dryer upstairs too. One bedroom with an adjacent bathroom on the first floor. Nice living room and full kitchen with a dining table. Parking right outside the door. The community is gated with electronic entry and there are 2 entrances: one on Old Lake Wilson Road and one on the side street (Livingston?). Crestwynd Bay literally shares a property line with Windsor Hills. One side of the fence is Crestwynd, the other side is Windsor Hills.

There are no hidden fees for parking or resort fee. Whatever the owner is charging is what you pay.

The main difference is that Crestwynd isn't a "resort". It has a basic pool but that's it. No clubhouse or arcade or exercise room or movie theater or store or any of that. No onsite activities or events. That's why the price is lower. You aren't paying to support all of that stuff.
