Concierge level - What can they do for me?

Hi all -

What can the concierge do for me (besides what I can do on my own with the app) if we book that concierge-level room at some resorts?

For example, I have heard they get preferred fireworks viewing at MK. Is that also true for Epcot and Hollywood Studios as well?

And other perks or cool things the concierge-level can get you?

Ethan

Staying CL alone cannot get you preferred fireworks / nightime show viewing at any park. Guests staying CL (and select other room types) are currently eligible to participate in a paid trail program which gets you three “extra” FPs per day (in addition to the “regular” three per day) along with your choice of reserved nightime viewing at HEA, Illuminations, Fantasmic, or Rivers of Light.

Details of the program can be found here:

And lots of strategy discussion here:
Club Level Fastpass+ Purchase (Logistics)

Staying CL gives you access to “Disney Signature Services” (DSS) which is a “concierge-like” group that can assist with various planning needs. Generally speaking they cannot do things that you otherwise can’t do yourself. For example, if you can’t find an Ohana ADR on a certain date, they won’t be able to either. They don’t have a secret stash or any special pixie dust to make things appear. On rare occasions you’ll see a report of DSS “really helping out” - but that’s the exception and not necessarily the norm.

Generally speaking, one will not find “perks” when dealing with DSS or CL CMs. Disney CL is not to be confused with something like, say, a Four Seasons concierge, who can go “make things happen” for you.

For many, the CL appeal comes more from the food/beverage offerings, the dedicated lounge, the location of CL rooms specifically (often high floors or particular buildings, depending on the resort). “What a concierge can do for you” is not often cited as a major benefit - mainly because the app and website make things so easy to do yourself.

That being said, access to DSS pre-trip and CL CMs during your trip does offer a bit of convenience. For example, you can e-mail your room requests to DSS and they will note it on your reservation. No calling, waiting on hold, etc. Communicating directly through e-mail has its advantages at times. You can book various things - tours, cabanas, events - with a few e-mails back/forth vs having to call.

That’s my take, others may have a different perspective as well. Hope that helps.

We've stayed CL several times and it's our preference for vacations. We only go to WDW every 2-3 years so we try to make the most out of it. To be completely honest the perks are mostly about the food...at least for us. That's why we stay CL. It's more convenience than anything but it adds a lot to our trip. We love rolling out of bed and having a large breakfast spread for us every morning. Grabbing coffee or soda when we feel like it. Taking some snacks and beverages to our room or to the pool is great. And, we love coming back from the parks and stopping in the lounge for a glass of wine and some desserts in the evening. It's less times that we are standing in lines for breakfast and snacks. And, we don't like trying to keep food in our room for meals. So, it is well worth it for us. They will make reservations and cancel reservations for us when we ask. And, I love turn-down service in the evenings. But, the other "perks" are pretty far and few between to be honest.

Turn down service
Free food (finger foods)
Free drinks (including beer and wine)
Ability to purchase extra fastpasses and reserve those 90 days in advance, instead of 60

And...let's face it...paying extra gives you that extra little layer of privacy between you and the riff raff. Do you really want to be seen around...gosh...regular deluxe hotel guests?

We've never stayed club level before, but I'd consider it if I won the lotto. Until then, it's simply not worth it for us.

Just the food and would not pay for it again. We did it to do the Sunrise Safari at AKL. Otherwise I can make better use of the $$ spent.

I don't think I saw it mentioned upthread, but they will have in park purchases delivered to your room!

I have tried club level at AKL, YC, BC, and BWI and have not found it to be worth the extra money. Many people disagree and love it. At each of these places you get a large breakfast spread, a few snacks mid-day like Goldfish crackers and Swedish fish, and a couple appetizers plus cheese and crudite at dinner time, then desserts, plus a fairly decent array of non-alcoholic beverages, as well as beer and house wine. I did not find any of the club level concierge services to be any different than the concierge service that anyone can access at the front desk. For me, it's worth putting the extra money toward food and drink that I choose rather than into a club level room.

From Disney own website:

Club Level Concierge
Enjoy personalized service and an exclusive Club Level Lounge when you stay in a Club Level room at a Deluxe Resort.

The exclusive Club Level Lounge offers a variety of complimentary daily refreshments, like:

  • Continental breakfast
  • Hot samples from Resort restaurants
  • Evening wine and beer selections
  • Desserts and cordials

In addition to:
  • Evening turndown
  • Secured key access to the club-level lounge, serving refreshments 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily
  • Complimentary health club access
  • Complimentary newspapers in Club Level lounge
  • Personalized Front Desk and Guest Services
  • Complimentary fax assistance

The health club access is misleading, just FYI - I have been able to use Ship Shape at BC/YC, for instance, even when not staying in a club level room. I think health club access is available to all deluxe resort guests.

Actually it is. Non club level guests get in park purchases delivered to the gift shop of their resort . As @megs1313 stated, Club Level guests get in park purchases delivered to their room .

I stand corrected. Good to know.

I'll now gladly spend $200 more per night to avoid the poors at the front desk so I can pick up my wife's latest Dooney purchase (something something that last bit was sarcasm).

The best perk is convenience with respect to food and drinks. That is why we stay CL. I'm sure we pay more $$$ than the cost of the food, but it's VERY nice to roll out of bed and have the lounge nearby with breakfast. We do not tour commando-style, and usually eat a bigger lunch at a TS (or QS) with breakfast and dinner (apps) and desserts in the lounge. Maximizing time and convenience are important everywhere, but especially at WDW.

We like it for the lounge and location. The breakfast helps us in the mornings as we're getting ready to head out. The major benefit to us is dh golfs solo at Disney. I'm not able to get his preferred time as a solo golfer but they are able to do it for us.

That's not exclusive to club-level. Anyone staying on-site can have purchases delivered to their room.

Not exactly. That site states, in part:
Resort Hotel Delivery
If you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can arrange to have park souvenirs delivered to your hotel instead of carrying them around with you all day. Simply tell the retail clerk during time of purchase and arrangements will be made quickly and easily.
