Not-So-Glimmering Greenhouses - Tuesday Nov 19, 2024 (part 9)

After about half an hour, we were up and heading to Epcot - we had a Lightning Lane for Guardians, and I wanted to ride Living with the Land with the Christmas lights! We had a dinner reservation at 8:55 pm (guess where!), so had to be a little bit quick.

Anyways, we had another chocolate:
IMG_4824.jpg
It was yum. :)

IMG_4827.jpg
Also cute Christmas tree! :)

We took the monorail over to Epcot which is I think my least favorite transportation bit - it takes SO LONG to go from the Grand to Epcot. You have to take the monorail completely around the loop, then transfer to the Epcot monorail. But we made it by 6:30, time enough for a photo!
2024-11-19 - Epcot - Tiny world magic shot at epcot.jpeg
And then hustled over to Guardians. There was no line in the lightning lane so by 6:42 we were in the first pre-show room and by 6:57 we were waiting to get on the ride! We waited for row 9, of course:

What song did we get?

Disco Inferno. I swear we ALWAYS get that one and it is my least favorite. LOL Still an awesome ride. :)

Time to hustle over to Living with the Land! We crossed through the garden center section though:
PXL_20241120_001036233.jpg
So pretty!
2024-11-20 - Epcot - Epcot_9.jpeg
Mickey lights! :)

Living with the Land was an actual 5 minute wait, and we waited one extra round to get the first row!
IMG_4856.jpg
IMG_4857.jpg
But then, we got into the greenhouse portion and guys, I felt so dumb - the Christmas lights weren't on!
IMG_4858.jpg
Most of the lights were up/strung, but they weren't turned off. And when we got off the ride the CM at the exit was just repeating over and over that the lights would start Nov 29th. BUMMER! Also, why not post or announce that at the beginning of the ride. I felt so dumb - rushing us over to ride it only for nothing. :( Oh well!

Gingerbread Carousel - Tuesday Nov 19, 2024 (part 10)

Oh one last Living with the Land picture -
IMG_4862.jpg
THERE WAS SOMEONE IN THE LAB AREA! I've literally never seen this before - have any of you? I totally thought this was a fake lab but there was someone in there! Almost (almost) made up for the lights not being on. :)

We got off Living with the Land at 7:40, and the plan was to head to the back of the park and pick up an uber from Beach Club to take us to our dinner reservation, which came with the bonus of getting to see the gingerbread carousel at Beach Club! We did walk through the UK on the way though:
IMG_4865.jpg
Never seen/paid attention to this diorama before. It made me laugh. :)
IMG_4866.jpg
Tea!

Trevor took a quick video as we walked into Beach Club:

Pretty decorations, though somewhat hard to see. :)

Once inside we had a couple minutes to look at the gingerbread carousel:

It was themed to Mickey's Christmas Carol!
IMG_4872.jpg
So cute!
IMG_4876.jpg
Look at the little Scrooge there with the dollar bills! :D

We grabbed a shingle from the little shop, and then called an uber - it arrived super fast! Only one minute to wait, which was kind of nice. :) By 8:24, we were back at the Grand. Our dinner reservation - at 8:55 - was nearby, so we had plenty of time to head up to the lounge and see what the desserts were. #priorities
IMG_4883.jpg
Mini key lime tart and then Hazelnut coconut cake.

IMG_4885.jpg
Tiramisu shooter.
IMG_4886.jpg
Closer look - it's got the Grand's logo on the chocolate there at the top!

Trevor got the hazelnut coconut cake:
IMG_4888.jpg
He liked it. I just got another brownie. :)

Also, I may have shown this before but I loved this picture:
IMG_4887.jpg
Belle's castle - if they sold it I would absolutely buy it. :)

Narcoosee's Dinner - Tuesday Nov 19, 2024 (part 11)

Where were we heading for dinner?
IMG_4891.jpg
Narcoosee's! We figured we should try it since we were staying here and it was the last table-service at the Grand that we had to try. :)

It was a pleasant walk back there, and we got to see a bit more of the decorations.
IMG_4890.jpg

Once at Narcoosee's, we had to wait a little bit to be seated, but it worked out - we wandered out to the deck and got to see the Electrical Water Pageant!

The CM actually came out to seat us in the middle of the pageant but saw we were watching the pageant and was like "oh no worries take your time". :) So that was nice, and a good way to start our dinner.

Once inside we got a great seat, facing the Magic Kingdom.
IMG_4892.jpg
IMG_4895.jpg
The only problem is that it was 9:07 pm, and because it was MVMCP at the Magic Kingdom, the fireworks wouldn't be til 10 pm. And we are...not slow eaters. So we were definitely trying to eat slow so we could see the fireworks!

We started with sourdough bread:
IMG_4898.jpg
The bread was warm, and super crackly - I got crumbs all over me! But it also came with salted butter - my favorite:
IMG_4897.jpg

As far as drinks, the waiter said the only mocktail they had was the one on the menu, which was slightly disappointing. So I stuck with water and Trevor got the drink: Strawberry Cucumber Spritzer. Strawberry, Cucumber, Lime, Agave, and soda water.
IMG_4899.jpg
It wasn't bad - it tasted most strongly of strawberry and cucumber, but not really any lime, just the strawberry and then the cucumber. Mostly interesting. :)

As far as good, Trevor got the Blackened Redfish: chorizo sunchoke hash, southern sweet corn hominy, and red pepper rouille.
IMG_4902.jpg
He said it was really good and that he especially liked the char. His only critique was that it was ever so slightly dry.

I got the Prime New York Strip Steak, with potato mash, roasted rainbow vegetables, and red wine demiglace:
IMG_4900.jpg
And because I have no sense of moderation, when I saw that one of the sides was "Loaded Mashed Potatoes: garlic glazed pork belly, creme fraiche, smoked cheddar", I had to get that too.
IMG_4901.jpg
Both were really good - the mashed potatoes were SUPER cheesy and yummy, and the steak was cooked really well. I probably would have been just fine with the mashed potatoes alone though. :)

End the Night with Art - Tuesday Nov 19, 2024 (part 12)

Then for dessert, Trevor got the Almond-crusted Cheesecake with Lambert Cherry Sauce, Chantilly.
IMG_4903.jpg
I don't like cheesecake so this was mostly Trevor, but he liked it. He said that with the almond flavor it (logically) reminded him of the orgeat lemonade. Apparently he's an almond person now. :)

And yes we did manage to eat slowly enough to stretch the food out to the fireworks, but it was a close thing! Trevor did spend some time fidgeting with his camera to set up a recording, only for us to realize that we had guessed wrongly where the main thrust of the fireworks would be! Oops.

The video didn't turn out great, but still fun. And I do like that we got a pretty good recording of the soundtrack. :) It was a lot of fun to watch - obviously it would have been a better view right at the window but I liked that we were in a booth sitting next to each other and still had a great view. :)

Dinner over, we slowly (and with very full bellies) walked back to our room. I did make us stop at each level on the way up to the room to take pictures of the art they had!
IMG_4889.jpg
IMG_4906.jpg
IMG_4907.jpg
IMG_4908.jpg
IMG_4909.jpg
Love it!

We were back in the room by 10:45, ready to fall into bed and sleep. It had a been a very good day, but a bit of a long one as well. :) With ALL sorts of snacks and food. :D

Fun with Metrics:
Steps walked: 21380 steps (8.2 miles)
Ride count: 12 (Haunted Mansion, Seven Dwarfs, Tiana's x3, Big Thunder, Jingle Cruise, Pirates, Buzz, Space Mountain, Guardians, Living with the Land)
Savings with AP discount: $149.51 (I forgot we did a LOT of shopping today - I bought a pillow from Tiana's gift shop, and the Sleeping Beauty jewelry box from the gift shop by Gaston's Tavern, and then in Epcot I swung by the UK pavilion and bought a bunch of Mary Poppins things, and I bought the Belle Dooney and Burke wallet....I have no self control!)

ok that makes me feel better cause *whispers* I don't like Festival of the Lion King, mostly 'cause I don't like Lion King.

Honestly, your comment makes me feel better! I enjoy Festival of the Lion King (the performers are excellent) but it’s never been a “must-do” for me. I thought I must be missing something as it’s so many people’s favorite show. I’m glad to hear someone else is “meh” about it, too!

Wow, three rides on Tiana’s in one day? That’s amazing!

I love that you two went to Epcot just to ride Guardians and Living with the Land! It’s too bad the lights weren’t on yet. I agree that getting to Epcot from the GF is a rigamarole - the close access to the Epcot monorail is a major plus for the Poly over the other monorail resorts.

NARCOOSEE’S! I’ve eaten there twice and LOVED my meal there both times. I’m surprised you’ve never been there (although as you’re not a seafood fan, perhaps it makes sense). Your steak from Narcoosee’s looks MUCH better than the one you received at Bull and Bear. Those potatoes look pretty awesome, too! I’m glad you caught the Electric Water Pageant from the dock - it’s a fun place to watch that show!

Heck yea, I love Guardians. :D Still worth it, even if it was Disco Inferno and LwtL lights didn't work out LOL

Yay Narcoosee's! It was indeed delicious - the steak, the mashed potatoes...all of it. Yum. And yup the seafood focus is exactly why we haven't been there before, though i swear I do try to get Trevor's input and not just steamroll into places I want but he doesn't LOL.
And yes, it was so fun to the see the water pageant! I'm so glad that's still around, it's just such a cute thing to catch. :)

Feast for the Eyes and the Belly! - Wednesday Nov 20, 2024 (part 1)

Today our plan was to start in Epcot and then head over to Animal Kingdom - Merry Menagerie and the shows on the tree of life! We woke up and got ready and headed down for breakfast around 8:15. The way it's set up is that you can look down onto the 4th floor lounge from the 5th floor - I really enjoyed that little peek. :)
IMG_4910.jpg

Down there, Mickey waffles!
IMG_4911.jpg
Everything else was pretty much the same they'd had all week, so I won't inflict those pics on you.

This morning we got a booth seat by the window:
IMG_4912.jpg
I also really enjoyed how uncrowded the lounge felt - we were always able to get a seat pretty near the food and it just felt super open and uncrowded.
IMG_4913.jpg
Eggs and sausage and mickey waffles! Breakfast of champions. :)

After seeing the pictures last night, I went looking for more this morning:

Can you guess what movie they're all from? One or two of them took me an extra minute or two. :)

One Way or Another, It's Not September - Wednesday Nov 20, 2024 (part 2)

After breakfast, time to hop on the monorail over to Epcot! As we walked out the door to board you could feel the humidity - our first real humidity this whole trip. Not gonna lie, I had not missed it. :) It was supposed to rain later, but I was a bit skeptical.
IMG_4925.jpg
Hi Magic Kingdom! Love the view from the monorail.

Once at the TTC, we got lucky - the monorail to Epcot was there waiting for us. Woot! I don't know why I hate waiting at the transfer point but I really do, so it was nice to have it waiting there. :)

By 9:20 we were inside Epcot!
2024-11-20 - Epcot - Epcot entrance_3.jpeg

Where were we heading? I know you'll all be shocked, but Guardians!
PXL_20241120_144703724.jpg
We like doing the virtual queue super early in the morning if we happen to get lucky with our boarding group, cause 1. the line is short and 2. it's not usually as crowded so a bit less pushing and shoving in the pre-show rooms. Trevor hates the pre show rooms for Guardians with an absolute passion, and a lot of it is all the crowd and pushing and such. So going in the morning with fewer people is nice if we can swing it. :) This time it took us 15 minutes from walking in to getting on the ride - not bad! Especially cause we waited for row 9.

We got September for our song - which is my second least favorite song (don't come for me. :D). And I just realized that our picture never showed up! Oh well.

I had also bought us a lightning lane, so we looped right back around. :D
IMG_4938.jpg
Another 15 minute wait - niiiiiiice.
PXL_20241120_151128603.jpg
We again waited for row 9 (best row!). If we got September I was going to be like...did any of this actually happen or did we just have a universe glitch, with everything the same? But nah, we got One Way or Another. :D
2024-11-20 - Epcot - Guardians of the galaxy cosmic rewind.jpeg
Some day we will find the camera, but today is not that day. :D

As we came out of Guardians round 2, I realized that StarLord was a character meet now, so I quick checked the app and it said that he should be out meeting, right where we were. So we were looking around and then Trevor spotted him coming out! We wandered over and Trevor got to say hi with no wait at all.
PXL_20241120_151813795.jpg

It was a fun little meet.

Next up we had a Frozen fastpass, so we started making our way slowly over there. Had to do a quick stop at Club Cool though for that Raspberry soda...yum!
IMG_4943.jpg

I also made us go through the center garden area 'cause I like the music, and also, pictures!

Birthday Treats! - Wednesday Nov 20, 2024 (part 3)

Ok, over to Norway! It was about 10:30 so nothing Food and Wine was open yet - perfect time for rides! Frozen was posting 40 minutes, but with fastpass, we were on in 3 minutes!
IMG_4950.jpg
We don't ride this very often anymore, but I do think it's fun - especially the drop with Marshmallow the snow monster and the little snogies!
PXL_20241120_154225028.jpg
2024-11-20 - Epcot - Frozen ever after.jpeg
And of course the ending part with the castle and the lights:
PXL_20241120_154238039.jpg
So fun!

We were off the ride by about 10:45, and decided to just kind of wander around World Showcase - no real plan. Which honestly was kind of nice. As we walked by Africa, we stopped to see if they had red cream soda: Trevor loves red cream soda and in the past they've had red cream soda here. This time, no luck - but the CM said that Swirled Showcase had it! So I was like "ok awesome, I know where that is". Trevor had misheard though - he thought they said "World Showcase" and was like "uh, this is World Showcase?!" I was dying laughing. Poor guy!

In Germany, we saw that Snow White was out, and she had a short line, so of course we decided to meet her.

She liked the red bow on my ears, cause it matched hers. :)
PXL_20241120_155441321.MP.jpg
PXL_20241120_155457584.jpg
It was 10:55 at this point - 5 minutes til booths open up but more importantly, we were in Germany, so 5 minutes to pretzel time! We killed time by looking in the gift shops there in Germany (we bought a couple semi-matching shirts), and then like 2 minutes after 11 Trevor was like "PRETZELS!" He headed over to the cart/stand and they gave it to him for free, for his birthday! That was super super nice.
IMG_4953.jpg
Trevor said it was nice and warm...and he was like singing to it as he ate it while we were walking? Trevor and pretzels man, a love story for the ages.
Love Heart Eyes GIFs - Find & Share on GIPHY

We kept walking by, enjoying the cool (but somewhat humid) weather and the low crowds cause people hadn't yet made their way back to World Showcase yet. Though we did see one family with like 4 strollers, all the same, all in a row - a parade! :D

We stopped at the Greece booth and I got the Griddled Cheese with pistachios and honey. Trevor was like "no" but I really liked it.
IMG_4954.jpg
A bit greasy but very good. :)

We were heading over to Remy's but it was closed and they were in the middle of dumping the queue. Oh well! We decided that our next ride would be Soarin, so heading that way but slowly. :D We did backtrack slightly to go to Morocco to pick up our cherry cookies that we love, and they gave him some baklava for his birthday! Trevor was getting all the birthday treats and wishes.

We kept walking and enjoying the atmosphere, until we made it to Swirled Showcase! They had a float and Trevor got it with red creme soda that he loves:
IMG_4955.jpg
But it was actually just a tiny bit of soda and a TON of ice cream. So we hopped back in line and got just a drink of the red creme soda. They asked me if I wanted regular or large and so I was like "hey large, why not" but it was HUGE!
IMG_4957.jpg
Like so big. :D

We slowly kept going to Soarin, and ended up having to throw away about half the drink cause it was SO big and he just wasn't gonna finish drinking it and he didn't want to chug it. So should have gotten a regular, but lots of fun. :) And Trevor's good birthday luck continued - we got B1 on Soarin' without having to ask for it or having to wait! I did notice that the ending scene had changed - it was the new Epcot center area! I asked the CMs and they'd apparently just changed the ending scene today, so that was super neat to experience.

Muppets! - Wednesday Nov 20, 2024 (part 4)

At this point it was really starting to get gray and making hints about raining, but we wanted to see Muppet Labs before we left. So we started heading over to the Odyssey building. Yes, I made us take more pictures. :D
2024-11-20 - Epcot - Epcot_4.jpeg
2024-11-20 - Epcot - Epcot.jpeg

Ok, over to the Odyssey! We had to go explore the Muppet Labs area - the theming was awesome! They'd put all the things back out on the lab tables (that had been destroyed/taken away in the first few weeks) but they'd also blocked it off so you couldn't touch it anymore. #that'swhywecan'thavenicethings
IMG_4963.jpg
IMG_4964.jpg
IMG_4965.jpg
The more we looked at it, the more fun little easter eggs and details we discovered.
IMG_4966.jpg
Lookit the "I love Pickle milkshake" sticker on the computer. :)
PXL_20241120_174122260.MP.jpg
Enjoy slowly! :D
IMG_4968.jpg
Is that a lettuce brain? I like the "Theory of Pickletivity" poster behind. :D
IMG_4969.jpg
Muppet Mobile Lab!! Bring it back! :)

So awesome - love all that theming. We did have to get something from the food booth, so we got the Frozen Pomegranate & Raspberry Tea: Twinings Pomegranate & Raspberry Herbal Tea infused with orange ice cream molecules. Neither Trevor nor I like wings, so those were a skip for us. And then bonus - as we ordered, they gave us a bunch of Muppet stickers and even a Beaker and Bunsen button! :D
PXL_20241120_175134575.jpg
The drink itself was really good - it was a slushie with orange dippin dots. Interesting, but good.

As we left the Odyssey building, we started to feel some raindrops spitting, but we had a couple things to do first - shopping! :) We stopped at the Festival shop on the bridge and picked up some Muppet Labs shirts, one for each of us, as well as a Muppet Labs pin. :) We then ducked into Creations Shop to pick up some coconut patties for our offices, and then were planning to head out, but we did a quick duck into Communicore Hall to see it - add our opinion to the majority. What a waste of a space. :(

We did manage to mostly beat the rain - it really started to consistently rain as we were leaving the park and heading towards the monorail. We just missed it! And we got lucky too - there was a monorail waiting right as we got there so we didn't have to wait at all. Woot. :) Then, by the time we got to the TTC to have to transfer monorails, the rain had stopped - yay! And our luck continued - the monorail pulled in right as we walked up the ramp. Very nice luck as we exited - no waiting for monorails and missing the rain!

Snacks and Rest Time - Wednesday Nov 20, 2024 (part 5)

We made it back to the Grand by 1:30, and of course we had to stop at the lounge for snacks.
IMG_4975.jpg
Brownie and pasta salad! The pasta salad was cold, and really good.
IMG_4976.jpg
Trevor enjoyed his uncrustable. :) Not a bad lunch! Well, snack - Trevor really had a pretzel for lunch.

Also two more pictures:
IMG_4977.jpg
IMG_4978.jpg
So cute!

We made it back to the room at 1:45, and to a new towel animal:
IMG_4979.jpg
Flower! So cute!

We were ready to lie down and rest for a bit - I put on WDW Today and that nice little soundtrack.
IMG_4981.jpg
So nice!

About 30 minutes later there was a knock at the door:
IMG_4982.jpg
It was our gingerbread house goodies that we'd ordered yesterday!
IMG_4983.jpg
We got the shingle and the gingerbread man, and the brownie and the ornament and the candy bar and then the bag of cookies. So nice to have it without having to go wait in the line!

We then went right back to resting. :D We got up at about 3, and were getting ready to head out to Animal Kingdom. First though, cherry cookie from Morocco!
IMG_4984.jpg
These are so good - they look like they'll be crispy but they're SO SOFT. Yum. Best treat ever.

One more chandelier picture for you, cause so pretty!
IMG_4985.jpg
Reminds me of Japanese cherry blossoms - I don't know why. :)

On the app it said the bus to Animal Kingdom was coming at 3:08 so we were like "oh sweet, we have time" but we got there at 3:04 and the bus pulled up right as we got there - it came early! I'm glad Disney has the times on the app but I feel like it makes me want to plan on being there early. :)

Merry Menagerie Redux - Wednesday Nov 20, 2024 (part 6)

We got to Animal Kingdom at 3:21, and as we headed into the park (the area right in front of the Tree of Life), the menagerie was out! Yay!
IMG_4996.jpg

After about 10 minutes it started raining kind of consistently so they all went back inside. I did talk to an attendant and he said taht they sometimes come out during the rain - it just depends. So we bailed and decided to go ride the Safari - it started raining even heavier as we headed over there, so we figured the ride was a good choice - the menagerie prob wouldn't come out in the heavier rain.

Took about 10 minutes to get on the ride:
IMG_5006.jpg
But we were gonna be row one! And my first real rainy safari, so I was excited to see that - I've heard that sometimes the animals are more active in the rain.
IMG_5011.jpg
Hippo!
IMG_5023.jpg
The giraffes were not more active in the rain - they apparently don't like rain, and were all just hanging out in this one area.

IMG_5027.jpg
Baby elephant!!! We saw her laying on the ground a bit in the dirt but then she got up - super cute. :)

We stayed mostly dry - it was a good use of rain time. I loved seeing the baby elephant. :)

Afterwards, it was about 4:20, and even though it was still raining, we decided to head back over to the Tree of Life, hoping the rain would stop or slow and the menagerie would come out - they were on the app scheduled to come out until 5, so I was hopeful. We did stop and get me a snack at the Harambe market: Corn on the Cob with African Seasoning!
IMG_5032.jpg
This was good - the spices were curry spices, and the corn kernels were a bit more soggy than I like but the taste was good.

By 4:45 the rain seemed to have stopped, so I (we :)) were hoping they'd come out for the last 15 min until 5 pm, and at 4:49, they did! Yay!
IMG_5049.jpg
It was just the penguins, but it was so much fun to watch them all. The one baby penguin was hilarious - in that picture he's imitating how people walk.
IMG_5058.jpg
Sneaking up on the attendant.
IMG_5094.jpg
Family picture!

IMG_5139.jpg
Playing hide and seek. :D

At one point they decided to play "Penguin Says", but it was a super short game cause the first thing Penguin Says was "go look for fish" and they all just scattered to go find fish. :D

I'm bad with words, but really the Menagerie is just so much fun to sit and watch and interact with. Absolutely my favorite holiday thing at Disney.

At about 5:10 they all went back inside, but so fun.

Let's Do It Again! - Wednesday Nov 20, 2024 (part 7)

With the Menagerie done for the day, and Animal Kingdom having Extended Evening Hours until 8 pm, it was time for rides! :) First up, we had a fastpass for Dinosaur.
IMG_5142.jpg
Hi Gertie with the Santa hat and beard!

There was basically no wait at Dinosaur - we were on within 5 minutes.

I don't know why but this ride every time I get so scared in the ride photo. LOL. But we made it back!

Next up, Everest!!
2024-11-20 - Disneys Animal Kingdom Park - Expedition everest legend of the forbidden mounta...jpeg
So fun. :D We were in the middle - row 10.

We wanted to do Everest again, so we just went through standby and basically walked right on.
PXL_20241120_224831505.jpg
Asked for the last row this time. :)

How far we have come - from Trevor not wanting to ride it to riding it last row with his hands in the air for the photo! :D

We went around one more time, cause why not. :D
PXL_20241120_230746161.jpg
Last row again. :)
2024-11-20 - Disneys Animal Kingdom Park - Expedition everest legend of the forbidden mountain.jpeg
Such a boring ride. :D This was technically the first ride of the extended hours. I do think extended hours at AK is one of the best - the park closes so early that I feel like a lot of people don't take advantage of it because of the short time, and so the rides (I feel) have really short lines.

We did spend some time in the gift shop afterwards cause Trevor likes the hats they have. He ended up buying the XL hat that they had; they didn't have a large size, but the CM was super nice and called the Discovery Trading Company at the front of the park and they had a Large, so Trevor figured if he needed to he could exchange the XL for the Large at the front of the park.

Next up, we were planning to go do Kali, but oops - Kali was not open for extended hours. Oh well! We figured we'd head over to Pandora.

Animal Kingdom at Night is the Prettiest Park - Wednesday Nov 20, 2024 (part 8)

Honestly, Animal Kingdom at night is just so pretty.

I love these little luminarias that are reminiscent of the Merry Menagerie.

And the mural! :)

Over in Pandora we took some pictures first:

That's Trevor's new hat!

There was a little bit of a line for the photos, but not too bad.

And after the pictures, Flight of Passage was posting a 5 min wait so OF COURSE we hopped in line there. That's the other benefit of extended hours - short wait for Flight of Passage but we get to go through the regular line and enjoy all the theming.

I also really like the bioluminescence on the ground, that again you only see at night. :)

Animal Kingdom Has the Best Theming - Wednesday Nov 20, 2024 (part 9)

IMG_5158.jpg
Na'vi!

We were seats 9 and 10, which was nice - basically in the middle. :) I feel like a couple often gets put on the ends (like 1 and 2, or 15 and 16) and those aren't as good, so it was nice to be in the center. And with the wait really being just the time it took to get to the boarding area!

Oh hey, Christmas mech-suit!

More bioluminescence:

So neat!

At this point it was a little after 7 pm, and the last thing we wanted to do in Animal Kingdom was watch the shows on the Tree of Life, so over to the center we went. It was nice that it wasn't crowded really.

The first show we saw was the one with the bunnies:

Then, the one with the Nutcracker soundtrack:

Then the one with the fox:

I love these shows - the projection mapping is just so well done. And their short but super cute.

At this point, it was 7:40 - where to? Hollywood Studios! (You'll have to wait for the next post to hear the reason). But we started making our way to the bus stop, with a few picture stops on the way:

Goodbye Animal Kingdom Christmas tree!

Any guesses on why we were heading to Hollywood Studios?

We took it slow walking up Main Street, taking pictures and such.

This picture is so perfect it looks fake! The car behind you guys is perfect!

. It kind of reminded me of an instagram reel I'd seen the night before - the caption was "When you're Disney rich" and it was buying all the lightning lanes but it ends with flying home in the middle seat on Frontier
This is hilarous! I was just thinking that I wanted to take the cash I have to buy gift cards and then use those for Fancy Rides, so it "feels" like they are free.

There are going to be lots of queue pictures - sorry in advance.
Can't wait to ride this in April finally

The lemonade was good, but it only had the tiniest hint of lavender. Still refreshing! And the beignets - yum. SO MUCH sugar, but that's not a bad thing, in my opinion.
I totally forgot that there was beignets and stuff now in MK. this does sound good too.

I got a raspberry no-jito:
Sounds and looks refreshing!

"Loaded Mashed Potatoes: garlic glazed pork belly, creme fraiche, smoked cheddar", I had to get that too.

This looks amazing! And literally a meal in itself not a side!

oooh do it! So smart - gift cards definitely feel free to me :D Nothing like not having to worry about looking at your credit card balance after the trip :D

oooh I hope you enjoy it! I'll be curious to see what you think

Absolutely could have been a meal! Should have done that lol

Can you guess what movie they're all from? One or two of them took me an extra minute or two. :)
1. Beauty and the Beast? 2. Cinderella? 3. Little Mermaid 4. Mulan? 5. Mary Poppins 6. Snow White 7. Alice in Wonderland 8. Beauty and the Beast

I am not sure about a few of them.
As we walked by Africa, we stopped to see if they had red cream soda: Trevor loves red cream soda and in the past they've had red cream soda here. This time, no luck - but the CM said that Swirled Showcase had it!
I will have to remember this for the next we go. I love red cream soda as well.
We kept walking and enjoying the atmosphere, until we made it to Swirled Showcase! They had a float and Trevor got it with red creme soda that he loves:
This looks really good. I will have to try it.

I think #1 is Encanto (I'm looking at the candle in the bottom right corner for my guess but I could absolutely be wrong!) #2 I think is Sleeping Beauty cause of the cake that's falling over, like when Fauna makes the cake for Aurora. But otherwise, I agree with you 100%! Good job!!!
I will have to remember this for the next we go. I love red cream soda as well.
There's dozens of you! :D It's so hard to find red cream soda, so I hope you get it next time!!

Hollywood Studios at Night - Wednesday Nov 20, 2024 (part 10)

We were heading to Hollywood Studios because I'd made us a late night reservation at Oga's! It had been a while since we'd been here so I figured for Trevor's birthday, why not. And then just a few days before the trip, they announced actual food at Oga's, so we're like bonus!

So Studios was closing at 9, and our Oga's reservation was at 9:40 pm, but I figured they wouldn't mind if we showed up early (it was like 7:40 pm). As we made our way to the bus stop, we could see that there was a bus there waiting at the stop, but the stop was literally the furthest bus stop. I hate it when that happens cause it's like do you run for it? or just wait for the next bus? I hate waiting but I also hate running, especially at the end of a park day... We ended up running/jogging a bit but we didn't need to, cause the bus hung out for a bit. But at least we didn't miss it? :)

By 8:15, we were walking into the park! The plan was to duck back into the Tower of Terror gift shop to see if they had the ornament or spirit jersey that I wanted, then Woody's lunch box for a late dinner (cause we know we like Woody's and we weren't sure if we'd like the food at Oga's), and then Oga's!

But we stopped for pictures. I can hear the gasps of surprise from here. :)

And of course some on Sunset Boulevard with the Tower:

Lovely idea, poor execution LOL
IMG_5182.jpg
Isn't the Tower so pretty? I do love this Beacon of Magic thing projection show whatever it is that they do. :)

The gift shop was a bust, sadly. We didn't buy anything, cause they didn't have the spirit jersey or ornament, but oh well. Over to Toy Story Land we went!

Toy Story Land really is just absolutely gorgeous at night, especially when it's not very crowded. :)
