Coinstar to Disney GC?

I'm trying to figure out as many ways as possible to save up money towards a disney trip, and I was wondering if there are any Coinstar locations (or other coin-depositing locations) that offer Disney Gift Cards?

If not, do you know if - for instance, I could go to my grocery store & get the grocery store GC with my coins, then buy a Disney GC with the grocery store GC?

I've got a fair chunk of change (pun intended ) saved up...

Hello! I went to coinstar.com and typed in my zipcode. They showed all the coinstar locations around me, and what they had available for gift cards/ecertificates in those locations:goodvibes

Here's an alternative: Just pick a GC for somewhere they offer that you would shop normally. Use that GC for your normal stuff, and take the cash you would ahve spent and buy a Disney GC (or just save the cash if you won;t be tempted to spend it). That's what I do for MyPoints sometimes. I'll get a Walmart card or a gas card and take the cash I would ahve spent there and buy what I really want.

I'm old school... I just get the coin wrappers from the bank and wrap 'em myself! Then you can buy whatever GC you want, or put the cash into a savings account.

Doesn't CoinStar charge you to use the service? We just take our coins to the bank. They deposit the change, no charge, into our vacation account (or checking if I've prepaid something) and there it stays until I need to make a payment for the vacation or get GCs for the kiddos spending money. For Disney this year, if I can't find the Sam's bonus GCs, I'll get them at Target and at least get 5% off using my Red Card.

They do not charge you for specific gift cards. I typically get Amazon gift cards as I know I always need something from Amazon! They also have Starbucks.

They used to have Disney but I haven't seen them in a couple year.

I just get Starbucks to feed my Starbucks habit.

sorry not to hijack your thread but is there a minimum? and also am i crazy but do the giftcards vary by location? one on my street has starbucks but the one at my foodstore doesn't list it. i also can't seem to find one with cvs. i'm going on my first none disney vaca in two years and without a dining plan i'm getting creative with food options. i used to cash in at TD once or twice a year but since i don't have a huge amount this may be easier.

My credit union has a coin counter and because I am a member they do not charge me a fee. I took my dad in there this summer and he had over $700 of change. If you're not a member, they charged something like 2%.

They have had disneySTORE gift certificates, but those are ONLY good for shopping on the disneystore website. And you cannot buy regular disney GCs with that certificate.

You may need to check with your grocery store, but I'm pretty sure you cannot purchase a GC with a GC.

Actually, last night when I went to the store, the store manager was there so I asked. She said that if I got the acme GC, that I could purchase a GC with it because it's like using cash. You just can't buy the Amex GCs.

Of course, YMMV, but that made me happy! I know I could put it in the bank, or use the acme GC for food then earmark that amount towards Disney, but I'm on a mini mission to not pay any money OOP for the trip if I can. We already have DRDs and GCs that DH got as a reward for work, so I was trying to add to that.

This is what I do too :)

I shop at Albertson's every week. When our change bucket is full I'll bring it along and get an Albertson's gift card. I then buy Disney gift cards for whatever amount the GC is for and use the GC to pay for my weekly groceries.

I prefer the gift cards because they're harder to raid when temptation gets the better of us. If I had the cash we'd probably give in and blow it on a weekend trip to New Orleans or buy something for our kids. The kids are too old for the Disney store so my GCs stay untouched :)

I had CVS turn me down before. There registers were programmed to not allow it.
