Hi there myself and 2 daughters are in a bit of a dilemma as to know what to wear of an evening. We are doing the 3 night Bahama cruise and dining at Palo's one of the evenings,we are then doing 2 weeks at Disney itself so don't want to have to pack too many dressey clothes as we won't wear them again at Disney and also we have to watch the baggage allowance aswell.
Is the 3 night cruise quite relaxed?am i correct in thinking there isn't a formal night?
Thanks in advance
Sheila

I am wondering about this too, just because DH and I are not generally very formal dressers (we are Floridians). We are also going on a 3-night, in May.

Normally speaking, the 3 night cruises are less formal. There is no Formal Night. You would be fine in Palo with a nice pair of capris, slacks or skirt.

We're doing the 3 night next week and we are all about casual! Dh is only bringing 1 pair of pants and will try to not even wear them (we're not doing Palo as we don't know how our 4yr.old dd will do at the kids club at night).. We got pirate T-shirts and gear for the 2nd night and just decent clothes for dinners...(capri's, etc)..DD will most likely be in costume for the entire cruise...(she loves dress up)..You will want comfortable clothes for WDW anyway!!

Can you wear shorts at dinner on a 3-night? The website says "cruise casual" - no swimsuits, tank tops, or shorts. DH lives in cargo shorts when he's not working, and paired with a polo shirt it looks nice. I told him he's going have to bring khakis for dinner though.

You will see people in shorts in the dining room, but it's really not the preferred attire. Since you're on a 3 night, he could get by with just one pair of khakis and be fine.

This is my 1st Disney crusie and I heard they are more laid back, but there are still some rules that you should follow. I am cruising in 3 weeks with disney cast members, and this is what I learned:

Palo's is always formal no matter how long the cruise, so be prepared to dress nice that night. You should look up the dress code specifically for Palo's and see what it says. I think men have to wear a jacket!

No shorts in the dining room, but jeans are ok.

We prefer to look nice for dinner, but that is our choice. I understand if you are packing lots of stuff for a vacation, you need to pack light.

Most of all, have a great time!

My daughters and I all wear "sundresses" (lightweight type dresses that could be a cover up too, really) on all nights but formal/semi formal because they don't take much room in the luggage and can be worn during the day as a swim cover up.

I have learned that the girls can very easily get away with 3 pairs of shorts/T shirts, 3 sundresses and 3 bathing suits (and of course the necessary undergarments for a full 14 days) for a week at sea and week at WDW. They are in their swimsuits most of the cruise anyway and only cover up for dinner..:rotfl:

Men are not required to wear a jacket in Palo.

From DCL's website:
Dress for dinner at Palo on all cruises:

Men: dress shirt or jacket, no shorts
Women: dress or pantsuit

I'm also trying pack light for our 4 day WDW + 4 day (3nt) Cruise in Nov. We'll have a washer drying in our WDW room, so I'm going to pack enough for 4 days, wash, rinse and repeat! :thumbsup2

The shoes are where I get tripped up, so easy to over pack there... I'm thinking a pair or two of nice flip flops or sandels that I can wear around the pools and at night, and tennis shoes for WDW daytime... We'll see if I stick to that.
