So I want to send Xmas cards for the first time in about 5 years. Yeah, I've been missing that boat the last few years & just stopped sending. I used to take a pic of my kids in front of the tree & send that with a regular Xmas card. But now that we went to Disney this year, I'd like to order some photo cards. Walgreens has cute Disney cards so it all matches :)

So .... is it weird that I want a cute pic of all 4 of us with Chip & Dale on the card? Or should Xmas card photos really just be the kids?? I can't really recall getting any from my friends with the whole family -- usually just the kids. And pets. lol...

My thought is the kids grow and change. My husband and I do not change much (at least not in a good way) :lmao: I think either way you want to do it, people will love to see it!

We get a mix of photocards from friends & family with entire families, just kids & just pets. We always have the 3 of us on our photocard. Sometimes we'll put a larger picture of DD with a smaller picture of the 3 of us, but there's always a pic of the 3 of us. One year we used a picture of the 3 of us with Mickey & Minnie in their Christmas outfits :goodvibes so I say use the picture you like best.

I mix things up a bit ... Some years I have had had photo cards with just the kids, and other years I've done my self and husband too.
Last year I did individual pictures of each of our kids, one with my husband and I together, and then one of each of our beloved pets too!
We went on a Disney and discovery cove vacation this year, so I had a photo card made with several photos in various sizes. It turned out really nice!
We always have them made online thru shutterfly.

We get photocards from DH's Aunt & Uncle . Just photos of them, no pets, no kids (their kids are grown with kids of their own). It's nice, different, but nice. I say do what you want.

Thanks for the responses -- I know I shouldn't worry about it, but since it's been a while since everyone has gotten a card from us, I don't want to them to say "Oh GREAT - they sent a goofy picture of the whole darn family" lol..

I think your Disney card idea sounds great.

I have sent a photo Christmas card every year since our oldest daughter, now 18, was born. At the time, it was a way for our friends and relatives in other states and cities to see how much she was changing and growing since there was no facebook. Now that most people are on facebook, I cut down the Christmas card list to around 40 cards (no letter, just the photo card). I just ordered them online from Walgreens using a coupon code and bought 40 photo cards for $22. The card has always just been a picture of the kids, mostly because I hate having my picture taken.

We have a big age gap between our daughters and as I was ordering, I was wondering how long I will continue to send a photo card of both girls, since our oldest is now 18 and our youngest is only 5. At some point I guess the card will just have our youngest daughter's picture on it and that makes me feel kind of sad and nostalgic. This year's photo card is a picture of the two of them hugging the first time they saw each other again after the oldest left for college in August.

I agree whatever you want to do is just fine. Personally, I prefer (and love) photos of the entire family. I love my friends kids, but I'm friends with friends, KWIM? And family photos from family vacations are awesome!

Yep, I agree.... I enjoy seeing Xmas photo cards! I enjoy the much more than the newsletters that were sooo popular for awhile.... Blah blah blah blah. And no matter how darn hard you tried to NOT come off like you were bragging in them, you always did! :) right????

So, I'm all for photo cards!
I think family and friends enjoy seeing our kids growing up, and changing, as well as my hubby and I too! Vacations pictures look amazing on these!
The one I designed this year had several pictures, one bigger in center, all our names, the kids ages, and the year. Since we included some of our Disney pictures, including the girls and the castle, I also had Have A "Magical" Christmas added to it.
They are the best one yet, and we have been doing these a few years now.

I generally make my Christmas cards, but this year, we had family photos done in the summer. So - we have a great pic of DH, DD (18) the dog and me. The pic worked perfectly. (I figured that since DD was graduating, this would be my last time to really have nice pics done for a long time.)

I had the photo turned into a card from an etsy seller. And then had prints made at Costco.

I am beyond thrilled at how they turned out. I had posted them on the scrapbook page of the disboards...here is the link. if anyone is interested.

No - not Disney - just wanted to show you a fun card with the whole family. And - I say do what you want to do for your card this year!

Just ordered them! I ended up getting them from Walmart because they had one I liked better. And YEP -- a pic of all 4 of us :) I kind of like it, you can see my 14 yr old has just recently inched his way past me, height-wise, so that should make for some good conversation LOL.
