Has anyone had any experience ordering checks from the Sunday paper circular or from an on-line discount place? I used to get them free, basic checks, but after a million mergers, somehow that policy has been discontinued. They charge some ridiculous amount for a box of checks, basic, like $20, so I'm looking at those and wondering if it would be worth trying them. Any thoughts?

A couple of years ago I ordered some, it was a good deal, but be aware if you need to re-order more its a little pricey then. I was going to order more but I ended up just using the free ones from the cu this time, since I really don't write many checks anymore.

I just wouldn't trust sending so much information to those companies...

But $20 for basic checks is CHEAP! The basics at my bank are $30!

I've done it before with no problems. The cheap rate they advertise is usually only for your first purchase however.

I have used Checks in the Mail many time and have been happy with the quality service and price. Reorders are easy and they have many WDW designs!

I ordered some a couple years ago. They're disney (different character on each one - four or five characters) and I get compliments all the time. If I remember correctly, they shipped very fast and were inexpensive.

I always order my checks from those places. One thing I can recommend is that you don't pay extra for rush service - when I stopped doing that, I realized my checks arrived in the same amount of time!

That's where I get my checks. I've never had a problem

Me, too. It's the only place I use. Lots of designs (although mine are always boring). I think I pay 9.99/box for the regular ones.

I've been ordering from Checks Unlimited for years & years (& years) with no problem. They're a part of the Current company & I don't think the prices have gone up by more than a dollar or two on the checks I buy for all that time. I get single copy (no carbon copy) checks w/ tropical designs, not just plain checks. I think it's about $8 for 200 if I remember correctly.

I don't write a lot of checks, but even for me, $20.00 bucks for 1 box of checks is too much money. I alternate ordering from Current and one other company that has the order form in the papers. I do the 4 boxes, which is the cheapest way to go. It takes me a very long time to go thru those four boxes. It's been almost 2 years since we had to order checks for our joint account and we wirte the most check out of that one.

I've haven't ordered through the bank in over 25 years. They are ridiculously expensive plus they are boring. I like my personalized checks, although I rarely write a check anymore. Just to the girls' music teachers and dance teachers, etc.

In fact, just this week I used up the last line in my check registry. It went all the way back to 2004! :lmao:

I've ordered from Checks Unlimited, Checks in the Mail, and...another one. Whichever one had the cheapest checks when I needed more. :thumbsup2 Never had any kind of problem.

I used to use Checks Unlimited too. We now get free ones from our bank but if they started charging I would go back to Checks Unlimited. They were very easy to use and we never had an issue with them.
