Part 3
Rob was really bummed about missing out on Ted's bakery as he is
all about pastries so I told him we could go to another bakery, one that I had written down the name of in my notes to visit, back when I was doing my trip research. I found one about 20 minutes away and it was close to a
Walmart, which I also wanted to go to so off we went.
Rob dropped me off while he went to fill up the Jeep with gas.
I found what I was looking for and also got a couple of cheap tank tops for Kira and I.
Spam everywhere in Hawaii!
I found Rob and we headed over to Liliha Bakery, which was right next to the Army Career Center.
Actually, if you were wanting to join the military, this was the strip mall to go to!
This location also had a restaurant but we were only interested in the baked goods, which they had plenty of!
Loved this lady's dress!
I spotted what I came for! They only had one left though.
They also had a lovely selection of breads and rolls and cookies and pies! It all looked so good!!!
Everything looked great but please tell me why there is a hot dog roll.
These were also a little out of place but they looked so delicious! If we had an oven, I definitely would have tried these!
I was only looking for chocolate croissants because we were out of the ones I had purchased at Safeway and on vacation, both Kira and Rob like to have them for breakfast. There was only one left in the case so I asked the lady if she had more and she said she did. Rob perused the cases and wanted a lot but settled for some cream puffs and a beignet. I let Rob do the ordering since I wasn't sure exactly what he wanted and when she asked him how many chocolate croissants he wanted, he answered "two", which was obviously not enough so I had to shout "six please!" and honestly, I wish I had said "twelve!"
Once we got our treats, we headed back to the H-1 but they were doing construction all around this area in Pearl City so it took us a bit to get onto it. No worries, I enjoyed the view.
Every day we spotted supporters out waving just before the turn off for Ko Olina.
Here's our Liliha's haul. I have definitely seen better looking chocolate croissants in my lifetime but I can say with absolute certainty that these were the best dang chocolate croissants that I have ever tasted!
Kira also agreed with me! Soooooo good!
Rob also enjoyed his puffs.
Not much longer after we had our dessert, it was time for dinner.
Although I was tempted to order online and skip that line down at the bar, I am too cheap to not use my discount.
Kira was in lazy mode so Rob and I headed down to grab it.

I know I posted the food menu but I didn't realize they had the drink menu on the other side.
I got the same lovely bartender and since it was ridiculously hot, I took her up on her offer of an ice cold water while we waited for our food. Thank goodness for an empty table and a huge umbrella! It was a scorcher today!
With our dinner procured, we headed back. I don't think I took an actual photo of this cool looking tree on its own, so here's the tree in the background. It reminded me of a tree I once saw in Victoria, B.C.
I got the fish and chips, of course! Just as delicious as the first night!
Kira got the Caesar salad with shrimp.
And Rob got the cheeseburger.
Kira wasn't too keen on the salad dressing so she just ate her shrimp and Rob's fries while I shared my fries with him. It was all very good and I am really missing my fish & chips as I write this!
I got our clothes organized and Rob went and did a load of laundry for us.
