Hi all, i dont know whether i shoould put this on this board,so if it needs to be moved or taken off then please do so.i just called carnival and they will have a new ship leaving out of Jacksonville for the month of March and April of 2004,they have a 6 day a 5 day and a i am not sure but i think it is a 3 day.they have some awesome prices on this ship it is called the Miracle and the ship is 963 feet long and 88,000 gross tons.i got an excellent price of 768.24 per person for a category 8A which is a balcony room on deck 4, the date for that price was for April 17th .that price was just for DH and Myself,so the 3rd and 4th guest would probably be cheaper.the Miracle for the 6 day cruise will leave out of Jacksonville on Saturday and return on Friday,it stops are Cozumel,Costa Maya and Freeport.
I am very excited about this new ship and especially excited that it will be leaving out of Jacksonville.we will not have to drive to Port Canaveral, that will save us about 2 hours driving time.

luvindisneyworld - we are also looking at booking this cruise for 3-20-04. My brother lives in Jacksonville so we can visit him before or after cruise. As you noted, the prices are good. DreamsUnlimitedTravel was able to give us a discounted price - you might want to check out their price.

It seems "Miracles" aren't as miraculous as they used to be...

Cost notwithstanding, I think I'd rather cruise on a Mickey Mouse "operation" than a Carnival..

I second that....I was on Carnival and I thought I was at a frat house party instead of a cruise....now if you like frat house parties you will love Carnival LOL....just not a "family" type atmosphere I prefer, I guess that is why carnival is called 'fun ships" and "party cruises".

I was on a President's week Carnival cruise just this Feb. It wasn't anything like a frat house. That is a bad reputation that Carnival has incurred. NOT all ships are like that.

You can't beat Carnival for the price and they have a casino. My kids actually liked Camp Carnival better than the Disney one.

We have had good experiences on Carnival ships. I think the key is to avoid the short cruises on the older Carnival ships. Those are the ones that I believe end up being more of party cruises. And for a family atmosphere, the non-smoking Paradise is a good choice. The Camp Carnival program on that ship was very good. And if you compare the layout to the other Fantasy class ships, the kids area is much larger. We also sailed on the Carnival Pride which at the time was the newest ship and it too had a very good kids program and was not a "party" cruise. Although, now that we have tried DCL, I can see why it's addictive.:teeth: But, if I had to choose Carnival or no cruise, I wouldn't pass it up! :p

DH and I took a 4-night Carnival Fantasy cruise this past January just before our 7-night Western Magic and I must say...I was pleasantly surprised by Carnival. I really wasn't "expecting much" since the cruise was so cheap, but we really had a wonderful time. Yes, the ship is an older ship but it was well maintained, clean and I did not see any noticeable signs of wear and tear (and believe me, I looked!). The food was very good (not quite as good as Disney though), and we did not mind an inside stateroom at all for that short of a cruise. We enjoyed the entertainment immensely (early evening and late night) and we're not "party people" and did not find that atmosphere there at all. There were lots of families, and it just seemed like a very good group of people, no complaints about the crowd. Our dining room servers could have been better, but it didn't ruin our cruise. We walked through the casino once just to look at it, but didn't spend time there (we can do that at home). I wouldn't hesitate to go on a Carnival cruise again, it was a great experience!! :)

That sounds cool! Such great rates too! We are also driving from NC - Goldsboro area. Saving 2 hours of driving time would be wonderful.

I too dislike Carnival Cruises. When we first cruised on the line, we had a bad experience, but decided to try years later again. We were even more dissappointed! DH wound up in the ships hospital with food poisoning. To me, the ships are too glitsy and the food is just ordinary. DCL and RCCL are much better!

I can still remember being woken up 2 nights by the guys in the next room...one night they had drank to much and were up vomiting half the night and 2 nights later again to much drinking and who knows what else but one crapped in the bed and I remember one yelling at the other one and then housekeeping had to be called....great way to wake up at 3am LOL...
We were paired up at dinner with a bunch of people that did not speak English and they pushed the alcohol very hard on the cruise.
