CANDY BUFFET for my DD graduation party I NEED HELP..Please

I would look in thrift stores for the containers. They are usually loaded with glass bowls. Its easy to add height with books and hide it with some cloth. I am going to do one for my DDs birthday party and I found some great containers there.

I did this for my DD'S 6th birthday. I bought so much candy, I bought candy for 5 months before the party. It was a lot of fun and the kids loved it, the adults even more.

I am really enjoying the pictures that the Dis people have done. I have looked at a lot of pictures on the web but so much of that is professional. I love seeing how you all have done it. Really nice job everyone.

I am planing one of these for my DDs birthday party.

I had one for my oldest's HS graduation in 2008. It was a big hit. We didn't have many little kids, so I had the table set up the whole time. While I did have treat bags with a poem attached for the kids to fill, not many did. Mainly because they were snacking on the candy the whole time. A couple of them did have their pockets stuffed with candy. As long as there wasn't much left, I didn't care how they carried it out of the house.

Could you share your poem with us - I wanted to say something clever, but I'm just not that creative :confused3

Thanks,
Tammy

I need some ideas on what to put on a little sign to put on the table for DD's high school graduation - I'm drawing a blank - any clever ideas??

I think i saw this thread when it began but didnt post becuase i wasnt planning anything. NOW i am def. going to do a candy buffet for my son's communion party at home. We did 2 other kids out in restaurants but DS wants it at home so we can swim and play all day.

Candy buffet will be indoors. I am in th early stages of a planning. But having more fun with this than the caterers. I would love to do a banner but unsure how to do one myself. He already made his communion last week and i got a free 8x10 collage from Walgreens that i made up with the days highlights and i will put this in a frame to be displayed as well.

I am loving all the ideas and love to see all the pics. :thumbsup2

I found this thread apprx 2 yrs ago when I was looking for something different to do for DD's 8th grade graduation! I even have pics posted on here somewhere:). Funny thing is my SIL just told me for my Nieces 8th grade graduation this June she is doijng this also because everyone loved it so much at DD's graduation party!!! Then I got to thinking DD is going to be 16 this September she's now a sophmore in High School and since she's turning 16! I wanted to have a nice party for her Big but not real big! So guess what?? I decided there's nothing sweeter than a Sweet 16 party with a Candy Buffet! ;) So now for the planning! The Big Event is taking place 9/11/10 she will be 16 on 9/12/10 but normally it's easier for ppl to get to our parties on saturdays so i figure she could also have a few friends stay over that night to bring in her real 16th bday!
I'm trying to come up with candy she really liked or likes and ones that were poplar in 1994 when she was born. I know Im crazy! :lmao:

What are the cellophane wrapped cupcakes on sticks? Candy or cookies?

You can't really tell, but the blue layer and the yellow layer were embossed with stars. I called it "Reach for the Stars" theme.

I had a candy buffet in April for my DD's 16th. Some of the candies i got were Hershey Pieces ( almond Joy and Yorks), LifeSavers from Sam's or BJ's ( can't remember) Skittles, caramel cremes, Hershey kisses. Her color scheme was brown, white and blue ( her choice lol) oh and Smarties Below are some pix.

I'll have to recreate that pink and black buffet for my daughter. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DS's grad party was yesterday. I think we wound up with about 250 people in attendance. The candy buffet was a HUGE hit! Everyone took home bags of candy and I still have an entire Rubbermaid Tub full of candy...I may have gone overboard! :lmao: Oh well, DS is an only child, so this is the only time I will be throwing a party of this magnitude!

My son is a HUGE fan of John Deere tractors (and my husband owns a working dairy farm), and the school colors coincidentally are green & yellow...that worked out perfectly! :rotfl:

Did you make the gumball topiaries? Those are cool looking!

I've never heard of a candy buffet before, but I LOVE the idea and am tucking it away in case there's a need at sons' weddings. (First they have to find the girl, so I have plenty of time to refine the idea :rotfl: ).
