Hi Girls!

We're having a candy buffet at our engagement party. Has anyone done this? Do we need a poem for the table or the guest tables? I wanted to put the bags at the place settings so the blue and white adds a bit to the table setting but I wasn't sure about framing a little poem or invite to visit the buffet.

I saw one poem online, but I was wondering if anyone used something cute...
(if I need one)

TIA:wave2:

We didn't do this at our wedding at WDW, but we did do it at our at-home reception a few months later. We actually just had the station set up near where the guests entered the hall. We had small bags there and people filled them on their own. I never thought of a poem, that really is a cute idea :goodvibes

We did this for our DFTW reception held at the Grand Floridian.. We brought in our own candy and jars (which all candy had to be wrapped, no lose candy -- health code) that matched our wedding colors..

Our wedding planner then had it on a table near the exist of the ballroom, and covered so no one would touch until we said so.

After we cut the cake the wedding planner unveiled it and people just took it as they wanted.. we had no poem.. just bags and me telling people to take candy..

Word of advice don't over buy candy -- we still have candy left over, and our wedding was dec. 6th, that I am just going to have to pitch cause we are over it..

good luck and hth :cool1:

We did this for our July Wedding. There was a lot of candy leftover. I would suggest the same thing, don't OVER buy. Also you don't need to get enough of everything for everyone. Some people don't like nerd rope, others don't like lollipops. Get a good assortment, people will find what they like.

We had a small at home reception, so had a little candy table. we used chinese takeout boxes in different colors as the way to take home the candy. Our "poem" was 'we hope that you enjoyed your stay, please take a treat to celebrate our day'. Candy's a big hit!

We did this and it was a hit. We attached little stickers to each of their bags which was also their place cards and it said

Before the night is ended
From our very first Sweet Start
We'd love for you to fill this bag
With goodies, candy and tarts
Thank you for Joining our Sweet Beginning!

I love this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were debating whether or not we wanted to do this and after seeing your small set up I LOVE IT!!

I went to a wedding, and the candy buffet said "Love is Sweet"

here is one I found by google:

Step right up
To the candy buffet,
It’s a sweet addition
To a wonderful day.

This is a treat
We are offering you,
On this beautiful day
When we say “I do.”

Use the scoop
Choose what you like,
Leave some for others
Be polite.

As you enjoy
Your bag of treats,
Please remember
Love is sweet!

What an adorable poem!!

We did it for our at home reception. It was on a table next to our cakes. People sort of started helping themselves when they got there then we had boxes for them to fill up and take home. We did have a lot of candy left over so as others have advised don't over buy.

If you want to do anything with hearts I would suggest getting it right now with all the Valentine's stuff that is out. That is what we did. We had gum balls (and yes I picked thru all the bulk candy and got all red, white and pink), little sweettart hearts, peanut and plain m&ms and some strawberry malt balls.

I may have a few of the clear scoops left, I didn't know what to do with them so I kept them. I will check to see how many I have and if any one wants them just pm me and I will gladly send them to you.

We are doing this at our reception. I am thinking about using the poem: Grab a box Take a Treat And Remember Love is sweet!

We had a candy buffet as our wedding favors at our reception- we ordered boxes online that were personalized with our names and wedding dates from exclusiveweddings.com. We set our treat bags out on the table at each place setting, and included this poem:

"Love is delicious
Your presence was sweet
So please take a bag
And pick out some treats!"

We added a small silver bow to to the bags, and printed the poem on cardstock and used scrap-booking scissors to cut them out. Then we attached them to the bags.

BTW, this is my first time attaching a picture- hope this works! :goodvibes
