Canadian deals coming September 10

you need to do the math. a 4 day Canada ticket costs less than a 3 day regular ticket for us with the hoppers

We're looking at flying Porter, good to know they have some discounts because it's new for us. they didn't use to have direct flights from Halifax

It's actually the same price to stay an extra night and get the 4th day on the ticket (also hoppers) with the Canadian discounts than it was for 3 days with no discounts, so do I go for an extra day? I feel like I should book it and then I can think about it more. I was considering a higher level hotel but honestly the values are fine for me. I am not even sure Skyliner will be running when I'm looking to go, it's always down around that time for annual maintenance, so I could save even more and stay at All Star Movies. We've been there before and enjoyed it, also enjoyed Sports.

I honestly can't believe I haven't booked or planned any trips over the past 6 months, I normally have at least one booked for some time in the future.

I am always for extra days if you can do and be away longer.

I am at CBR in late January - I couldn't find any discounted rooms at all at CBR unless I played around with my dates, and then similarly it was as just for the non-standard rooms.

Were you able to switch your tickets to the Canadian discount on the same booking as your original room? It looks like I can have the Cdn resident tickets as part of a package, but only if I am also booking the Canadian resident room discount?

I would be saving over $800 with my tickets, but I am trying to avoid buying them separately from the package given the fact that they are non-refundable.
Answering my own question here, but I was able to get the Canadian resident tickets in a package, but only combined with a Canadian resident hotel discount. Ended up having to do a split stay (same resort, different room type for my first night) in order to get the discount, but for me the hassle of the split stay is worth not having to buy the tickets separately. Maybe this way we can actually take advantage of the water park check-in day perk too.

that's the week before we were looking at. I am still playing with the dates...some I can't get if I only book a couple of nights but I do get availability if I try to book 5 or more. :scratchin

I have run the numbers on my dates six ways til Sunday and i can't find any combination of dates that will give me a discount significant enough to change my resort. I would have to downgrade just to save $15 and to me, that's not worth the headache.

Music is like our home resort but I haven't been there for 5 years. I love AoA but it's mucho expensive, and Pop is more expensive for no reason. I liked Sports and Movies too, but Sports has no dates for us and the main pool at Movies will be down for refurb. :rolleyes2 so check your dates

We were trying to do just a short trip and this will be the first time we didn't also have a baton twirling competition  like actually a real vacation...

The Skyliner might be a deal breaker for us (I'll dig further) because I was counting on it to make staying at Pop feel ok...even though it's so much bigger than an All Star...like huge for us...

we may get the 4 day and stay at Music and just use the last day to have breakfast in the parks on our last day

And it looks like the main pool will be closed while I am there. Not sure if it matters to me. I probably won't swim if I am solo, and kiddo still doesn't want to go with me. I've booked Movies for now any way, but we'll see. I could end up cancelling. I have until December something to decide any way.

I would rather start at POP for the skyliner honestly, but that's a bigger thing to be down while I'm there than a closed pool. And AoA costs more, we stayed there our very first trip and I just remember the walk from the buses to the Little Mermaid rooms being so far. I would love to choose a moderate but I'm too cheap lol. I considered it but I can't bring myself to spend more money on a room for just me.

yes that walk is very far, but it does have its own pool. I think it's even further than Country Fair to the buses at Music.

I think I just really wanted to use the Skyliner because they still had the Skyway when I was at MK on my very first trip. :charac2:

It's very frustrating that they haven't announced the dates the skyliner will be closed. We are booked at Carribean Beach, and I think we will be after any skyliner closure, but I would really like to know for sure! By the time they announce when it will be closed I don't think I will have a lot of options to switch resorts.

Hello!

On the boards for the first time in years, because we started thinking about a trip.

Apparently trying to plan using the newly dropped Canadian Resident discount only 5 days after dropping is still impossible though!

I can’t make the room discount work for us :( it’s not even coming up

Hopefully we can find something to make a trip work, even if it’s offsite!

Sometimes if you are a little creative with your stay - ie. split stay - you can make it work. What time of year are you looking at?

Hey all. I only need 3 days but the Canadian discount makes a 4 day ticket slightly cheaper than a regular 3 day ticket. What are the chances of another deal coming before the end of January that would make a 3 day ticket cheaper?

thanks

December 🙈

But I thought I might be able to find some discounted rooms!

Still looking…

Seems like we’ve got lots to learn before we go. It will also be our first time without the dining plan…. 😬

Put the amount you'd spend on the dining plan on a gift card. You'll probably find you'll spend less than it costs, and you'll have more freedom.

December is generally a busy time so its rare discounts come out. Switching to January or February will bring discounts and lower crowds.

If you want a 3 day ticket, how many nights are you staying?

If staying 4 nights then just purchase the 4 day ticket even if you only plan on 3 park days.

Yeah, I know.

But I have teenagers. We are limited to going during school holidays now unfortunately.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. Just checking in here to see if anyone thinks a better deal may come for less than 4 days. Right now the difference is about $87 which isnt bad at all.
