Can I hole punch our park passes and put them on a lanyard ?

We're only going to WDW for 4 days in 2025 and so we don't want to purchase magic bands.

Is it possible to hole punch the park passes and not cause any issues with the tickets themselves? Would the front desk do this for you ?

If not, I want to purchase some clear pouch lanyards for the trip beforehand.

The park tickets are hard plastic, like credit cards. I have no idea how the internal circuitry is constructed to allow the tap function to work, so I'd be worried that I might mess that up by punching a hole, maybe cracking the plastic, etc. I'd use the pocket on a lanyard just so I wouldn't have to worry about any of that.

Many years ago, before MBs, I did keep my ticket in a lanyard pocket. The lanyard was long enough that I could tap the ticket to the reader without taking it from the pocket, so that I didn't have to keep taking the ticket out and putting it back into the lanyard, not inconvenient at all.

This is what I used before Magic Bands and you can buy them right in the park or the resort. They were very handy during EMH when you needed them at every ride, and I was able to keep a few cards in mine, plus a little money just in case. There are other designs available but I also liked the lanyard best.

I wouldn't cut or damage the card in any way. You could mess up the RFID circuits.

to be honest if you're staying onsite it's worth investing in the magic bands. You can wear them while swimming even, and I don't miss having a card at all.

I would get the lanyards at Disney if you're going that way...rather than some plain pouches that you aren't as happy to wear. Most of that stuff is reasonable.

You should be fine with the cards. You can swim with them also if you have a swim pocket. We use the lanyards or keep in our wallet. I don’t find that they are pulled out too often. Magic Bands are an unnecessary expense IMO especially if it is the only trip you have planned.
