Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk is now open

I see them up to 30 days now. (Dec 5 is the latest date). I will keep an eye on it for Dec 11.
Waiting until Dec. 01(or probably Nov.30) before I can make a reservation. Decided to treat my traveling companions to afternoon tea on NY Day.
Hope it’s all that we hope for 👍🏾

Let is like they put open table back to a week. I saw all of November, then went to look at my plans to see where I wanted to slot it in. Came back and it is only showing the next week.

I looked at it just an hour or two ago & it was out to December 5th. I had noticed they were releasing hours at a time..like this morning, spots were only available for the morning & early afternoon. Dinner reservations haven’t been available til later in the day. So I was checking for that trend. I wonder if they’re playing with it again.

So I went there tonight and wanted to share my experience. It was a bit of a mixed bag. My husband and I were arriving from HS and had just missed the friendship boat, so we were 5 minutes late. I gave the host outside my name and she said, "just a minute," then opened the door and said to two other hosts, "I have a party here with a reservation for 8:45 but it's 8:50, can they still come in?" 😒 The restaurant was 95% empty, too. Then the other host proceeded to seat us at a table squished between 2 other parties when the whole restaurant was nearly empty! It would have been awkward to ask to move when the other tables could hear but I wish I had because it was even more awkward sitting by them with so much empty space around us. Thankfully the food was really good. I loved the chicken velvet soup, the chicken salad croissant, blackberry avocado saladE and the salmon. I also have to say the sparkles everywhere were fun. The pumpkin chocolate cake is also a winner, especially with the caramel drizzle. I do have plans to go back for breakfast but I had to make a reservation for 3 people to get a decent time. I wonder if the host will let us in or lose her mind when we tell her there are only 2 of us. 🤔

That is what they are trained to say don't worry about that at this point they have not been selling out.

That is down to the area the server(s) cover. Since they are using OpenTable they are likely using the OpenTable restaurant management system to allocate / manage seating areas as well as the back of the house.

Well that is very important and thanks for sharing the best part of your visit to CBS.

This is again another feature of the OpenTable system they allocate parties of1-2 to the 2 top tables and only a percentage of the 4 top tables. I have never had an issue with a restaurant unless you tell them the 3rd person will be joining you late. The good news is you should have a different Host for your Morning visit.🤔

No idea when MDE will offer ADRs but if it’s any help opentable’s reservation window for 12/24 should open around Nov.24th. Have fun.

I've just checked on open table to see if reservations are loaded for 6th December ( to get an idea what time they are loaded as I'm in the UK) and they are only a week or so out now, not 30 days!

Scroll back just a few posts. Sometime last evening it changed back to 1 week. Who knows what they’re doing.

Soft opening.

Edited to add In the real world bakery cafés don't take reservations months in advance.

Most places I have been to for afternoon tea have taken reservations in advance.

Absolutely. The ones I’ve been to require them. I wouldn’t call this a bakery cafe anyway. Plus her other 2 restaurants take reservations a year out. So that theory doesn’t really apply.

Are they taking reservations for afternoon tea?

Common sense suggests limiting reservations until they decide how many sections to allocate to afternoon tea.

No Afternoon specific Tea time(s) announced for the BW location. CBS might just be using a Tea menu offered during the normal lunch hours. We just don't have enough information as of today.

Timing of Advanced reservations for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner has changed a couple of times from a week to a month and back to a week as of last night as reported by @robsmom.

I emailed asking about reservations for afternoon tea. The lady I have been emailing has been really helpful, and I also asked the price. Here is the information she sent me.

How far out were you trying to book Afternoon Tea? Please let is know what the Reservations team tells you about the timing and process.

I had this down for dinner one evening, but I’m seeing so many reviews mentioning a rather lengthy time spent during their meal. I prefer to spend no more than 90 minutes max at most meals, especially in Disney. So I think I’ll just be picking up a slice of cake or two in the bakery.
