I know any answers will be pure speculation at this point but what do y'all think the availability will be for the CFW in late January of next year? The usual DVC availability sites don't have info for CFW because it's so new. We're looking for a six day stay starting around 24 January.

Which leads me to my next question. We already have a six day stay at AKL on those dates in a 1BR value. We're pretty familiar with the CFW setup having stayed there last January. Would you rather stay at AKL with the washer/dryer in the room and the greater access to the resort amenities or stay at the CFW? Just looking for opinions. Thanks.

Only 63 of the 300+ Cabins have been declared into member inventory and they have not sold a lot of points. So currently, availability is pretty good once the 7 month booking window opens.

I can’t answer the availability question for the cabins, but I’ve always found the washer/dryer to be a big convenience. Since we fly to WDW, having that option allows us to pack fewer clothes. When traveling with kids I especially found it to be a bonus (and now when traveling with the grandkids). We almost always stay in one or two bedroom units anyway. I was actually kind of disappointed that the new cabins don’t have washers and dryers. But they never did if I remember correctly (haven’t stayed in FW since the early 80’s ;) ).

Thanks, that's good info to know.

Yeah, the washer and dryer is a game changer as far as packing goes. When we stayed at the cabins earlier this year the laundromat by the smaller pool was really easy to use. Not in your room easy but still pretty easy. :-)

We own at CFW, our first stay (booked at 11 mo out) will be in July. Out of curiosity, at the 7 mo window, I checked availability and saw that there was not availability for the full length of our trip. I just checked and there is spotty availability at 7 mo now. Maybe (probably) once more units have been declared, availability will be better but for now, you’d better hop on the minute your window opens if you want to book.
