"Bride" & "Groom" t-shirts in park on our anniversary?? VOTE!

How do you feel about wearing the t-shirts at WDW on Anniversary?

  • Cute idea! Wearing it on your actual anniversary is fine.

  • Dumb idea! People will think you're there for your honeymoon and that's not accurate.

When DH and I got married 5 years ago someone bought us "Bride" and "Groom" t-shirts to wear at a party a week before the wedding. They're nice shirts; mine is white with gold embroidery and DH's is black with white embroidery. We only wore them that one day. We're wondering if we should wear them on our anniversary at Disney World this July. Or do you think it would seem silly, as if we were on our honeymoon? Vote and let me know! Thanks :)

personally, bride & groom shirts would make me think you're on your honeymoon or just married. maybe you could wear matching shirts or get personalized shirts made at disneydirect.com or disneyinkshop.com to reflect your anniversary celebration. i think matching shirts are cute but yes people/cms could be confused.

however, i say do what you want. hope you have a great time at wdw either way!

we are celebrating our 32 anniversary and i was thinking about the wedding ears. :earboy2:

I say go for it!! It will make you feel like newlyweds again. My husband and I are planning to renew our vows at WDW for our 10th aniversary and I want us to wear the Mickey bride and groom ears. The only thing is you might get sick of saying to people, " Its our anniversary, we're not on our honeymoon". If you don't mind saying that to people over and over again, I say go for it.

We will be celebrating our 25th, and plan to wear hats and t-shirts. It's a big deal, celebrate. I am making the hats. I bought two hats off ebay to use the ears. Then I'm going to put silver glitter on the ears and attach them to baseball caps (white for mine, black for his) and paint or have embroidered "25th Anniversary) on the back of them. I have also ordered the bride and groom t-shirts from disneydirect.com and they say "Happy 25th Anniversary" on them.

I say wear your shirts and have fun!

We got married last year and wore the ears, we got a lot of attention, but of course everyone wants to know when and where you got married. You may risk having to keep explaining that it's actually your anniversary.

What a fun idea! To avoid the honeymoon confusion, though, you might want to consider this: If you're handy with a printer and an iron, you could make an iron-on transfer to go below the words "Bride" and "Groom" reading something like "...5 years ago today!"

Of course, since his shirt is black and yours is white, you'd have to get both of the types of transfer paper. One is for dark shirts and one is for light ones.

Or if you know someone who does embroidery/monogramming, they could probably stitch on the "5 years" disclaimer.

Happy anniversary in advance!

My 15 month-old son and I proudly wear our "Big Guy" and "Little Guy" t-shirts. Of course, he has no idea what shirt he is wearing.

Do whatever you would like. It's not as if someone is going to come up to you 5 years from now in the Boise airport and say "Hey, didn't you wear your bride and groom shirt at Disney World 5 years ago?" And if they do, say "Yes, thanks for noticing."

Who cares what other people think?!? You go and have fun & Happy Anniversary! in advance.

Paul.

My DH and I have matching baseball caps that we had done on our honeymoon. Both have 2 golds holds entwined together With our names and his says groom and mine says bride. Really cute. We will wear the again too.

We plan on celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary at the world and I have my heart set on wearing the wedding ears! I don't care if people are confused, the vaca is about me and my hubby! disney queen, Congratulations on 32 years!

Happy Anniversary and wear the shirts with pride and have a great time!

What does it matter what people think I say Have a great Day Celebrating your Anniversary of when you were a BRIDE and GROOM!

Amy

I say they are fine. We wore our hats on our honeymoon last April. Mine was a little tight. So the shirts would be great. But doing both would be a little too much.

Here is an idea, get something printed on the back on the shirts "Our XX Anniversary", etc...

I agree--- wear the shirts and have a great time....after all its special day - you should wear something to celebrate it!!!!

Congratulations!

Go ahead and wear the shirts. I do like the idea of adding "...5 years ago today" or some similar wording.

We're planning on matching shirts indicating our 25th also. Not sure about the bridal ears, though, DH isn't real crazy about the idea! LOL

Enjoy your trip! :sunny:
