**BREAKING** - Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Coming to former Reflections Site in 2027!

New DVC Property Revealed: Disney Lakeshore Lodge

It’s finally happening—Disney has officially announced a brand new Disney Vacation Club property coming to Walt Disney World: Disney Lakeshore Lodge! This is the same project that was previously known as Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, and after years of speculation and active construction now underway, we’ve got some concrete details to share with you.

This news was first reported by Scott Gustinover on X.

A New Vision for a Long-Awaited Resort

The story of Disney Lakeshore Lodge has been a winding one. Originally announced as Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge back in 2019, construction for the resort was well underway before it was halted in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of us wondered if the project was canceled for good, but it seems Disney had other plans. They’ve reimagined the concept, and construction is back on!

We’re assuming much of what was originally planned for the resort is still the case today, so as you read on, keep in mind we’re making some assumptions here, with more official details coming soon from Disney Vacation Club.

The new Disney Lakeshore Lodge is set to be a stunning addition to the Disney Vacation Club portfolio, with 900 rooms planned, combining both standard hotel rooms and DVC accommodations. The site’s location on the shores of Bay Lake is ideal—right where the old Disney’s River Country once sat, and just a short distance from Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. It’s a beautiful setting, perfect for this nature-inspired lodge that aims to blend the charm of Disney’s storytelling with the tranquility of the great outdoors.

Themed Magic and Familiar Faces

We’re assuming some of the general concept remains the same as originally planned, and what makes this new DVC property even more exciting are the themes Disney has in mind. Each room will feature beloved Disney characters, and the list includes favorites like Bambi, Brother Bear, The Fox and the Hound, and Pocahontas. The immersive touches promise to capture the spirit of exploration, nature, and friendship that these films embody, giving guests a unique stay filled with Disney magic.

There’s even more to look forward to with a previously planned lakeside restaurant inspired by The Princess and the Frog! Imagine dining by the tranquil waters of Bay Lake, with delicious food and nods to Tiana, Naveen, and Louis—it’s going to be a fantastic place to unwind.

Now the question is whether the DVC side will be combined with the Cabins at Fort Wilderness, or separate.

It will be nice to have another restaurant option for Fort Wilderness too - hopefully a mid-range or slightly higher-range table service, which is sorely needed with Trails End converted to Quick Serve.

I was hoping for something offering a little homage to River Country waterpark, which originally occupied that location. Oh well, they didn't ask me.

Now I want to know, since DVC announced it, does that mean it will be "all" DVC, no separate hotel side? I wouldn't be surprised if it is, given that Disney has clearly recognized the benefit to them of having DVC owners pay to operate and maintain resorts whether they're occupied or not.

I'm excited for this! The A-frame cabins initially planned looked cool, too. I'm thinking Epcot or Animal Kingdom will be the next area to get DVC since MK is getting totally taken over by DVC at this point. If Lakeside Lodge opens 2027, whatever comes next is 2029ish, which dovetails with AK getting their big investment. Riviera will be totally sold out, unless they cannibalize another wing of Caribbean Beach and add on to it as Riviera 2.0. Hmm.

I knew it was being built and wanted to be hyped, but for some reason couldn’t. Now that it’s official my hype arrived!

I've been saying this will be a combined association for a long time. That is why the dues for CFW are currently so high. Once these rooms/points are added in, the dues will drop. No actual confirmation of this, but it makes sense.

I hope so. I’d love to be able to own near all 4 resorts.

I was wondering that too; did they scrap the idea of having a hotel/dvc mix? If it's all DVC, then I hope they depart from the lackluster lobby and limited restaurants that Riviera has. Also, the dues will certainly be a factor in our decision to own there.

Get to subsidize the inflated dues at the cabins so expect it to be near the higher end of the spectrum, probably around $9/pt at opening.

That might work then. Would prefer lower like our VGF, but it would still be lower than our AKL.
If we're sharing the dues pot with CFW, would CFW share the Lakeshore pool and amenities as well?
