Bounceback Information and FAQ Thread - 25-35% off BOUNCEBACKS ARE BACK for 2024/2025! Updated 11/22/2024

@jemtx - Remind me again when you did your *original* booking? I wonder if it was fairly recently (but before the change) and there was already the infrastructure behind the scenes, and that's why you have the modify button.
I made the bounceback a while ago. I honestly can’t remember bc I have two different BBs. I know I’ve modified once or twice via the phone, but those modifications were last made probably in October. I modified from a 2024 date to something in 2025, I’d that matters. I’m not sure why I got lucky and got a modify button. I’m sorry it’s been hit or miss for others.

I have what is presumably a dumb, obvious question (and I did try to search!). I'm headed to Disney in Feb 2025. Assuming the bounceback would be similar to what is offered now. Our next planned trip is December of 2026 (not 2025). There's no way to book a 2025 bounceback and then modify all the way to late 2026? That seems clearly outside the scope, but I did want to check!

Not going to lie, I'm halfway talking myself into booking for December 2025 because clearly the bounceback makes it worth it (my budget is not there yet, but my mind is!).

Yes, this summer I was able to modify mine from this September to September 2025. The CM said it was the same BB offer. So I think because it was a continuous room discount it was considered the same offer & OK. If it was like precovid & changed to free dining & back to room discount, it probably wouldn’t be allowed. Hard to know if they will still allow it next year. But as long as you don’t mind having your deposit tied up, it doesn’t hurt to book for late 2025 & see what happens.

Definitely hear you on the risk with the deposit! Well, sounds like I'll be booking one way or another after our trip. Thank you so much!

Wow this is a good tip. Great option for those that don’t go to WDW often.
Thx!

Here now, just booked a bounce back for end of October/early November at Boardwalk for 35% off!!!
I blew it when we went in August. I neglected to book a bounce back offer. I didn’t think I’d be going this year, but alas, I can’t help myself and did book the yacht club for August. Won’t make the same mistake twice, I plan on booking another stay and canceling if it doesn’t work out. That’s a nice discount!

We just got back from WDW yesterday and I was looking at booking a bounce back. I discovered that the option to book the BB was right there in the regular resort reservation section. It is one of the discount options, the same place that all the other resort discount offers are. :) That is really nice.

I was actually trying to price out a trip for a friend when I saw the offer and clicked on it. I just booked anything at that point so I wouldn't lose the offer since it was already day 6 after my trip. I had no idea they had made it that easy. Yayyyy

I was able to access bounceback at 1:30am on 12/8. Stay was 12/08-12/09.

I could have changed my 12/09-11 but kept what we had . I did save like $10 off of my AP discount for CR 12/11-12 .

Interesting I could look before arrival .

So I have two BB reservations coming up in March and November 2025. For the March trip payment for the hotel is due in February and for the November trip the balance i due at check in. Both are BB room only offers. Anyone know why the March trip requires prepayment?

Seems like the March reservation may have been booked as a package. Was the deposit amount $200?
Room only reservations require balance due be paid at checkin.

Yes. I suspect that the March one was booked as a package or at least a basic package (ticketless package). Room only is usually one night deposit with remaining due at check-in, while a package is a $200 deposit with remaining due 30 days before check. They also have different cancellation rules. When you look on MDE what is the code associated with your March reservation. Room only usually has RO or something like BB 25 RO.

Hi antjulie
Yes it looks like it was booked as a package and the deposit was $200. The csr was working some magic finding the dates I wanted. Checking my tickets I see 4 espn wide world of sports tickets included. Looking at my reservation it indicates “cy2025 bb ro basic package “ .
Are there any disadvantages with a package as opposed to the room only? Wondering if I should call in and ask them to change the reservation type. I am not stoked Paying a month in advance for a room only reservation…. In case we had to cancel

Just a head up, if you’re outside the booking window, they most likely can’t change it. The package & room only are 2 separate systems, so changing from 1 to the other requires a new reservation. When I booked a room only, the CM made sure to specify it couldn’t be changed to a package later. You might get a CM who can work magic & will change it for you. But you also might get someone who says it can’t be done.

In that case I may just leave it. I’d rather not risk losing the reservation all together as the csr wasn’t able to get the dates I wanted initially but eventually managed to get them. Losing $200 would be a drag but we fully intend to go. I just prefer less restrictive cancellation policies.
