Many times. Very good. Service can be poor at times.

I ate there once and absolutely hated it. One of my best friends is Cuban and makes some of the most delicious food and while I didn't expect the same, this was not even close and it was just plain bad. There are so many other restaurants in DTD to choose from, avoid this one!

NOTE: The food is about average, and not too far off the going rate
for pricing. However, the service leaves far too much to be desired -
bordering on rude. Better to chose Mexican beer than mixed drinks,
as the drinks are quite disgusting. They even managed to mess up a
"Seven-and-Seven". The outdoor QS serving window is superior to the
indoors TS eatery, as the Cuban Sandwich and Steak Sandwich are
quite tasty. (We are fond of going to a noon-matinee at the AMC movies
after a sandwich from the serving window.)

Bongo's is our go-to restaurant when we don't have an ADR. (They don't take reservations.) I've been there at least six times and have never had a bad experience.

The food isn't anything extraordinary, but there is a lot to choose from (unlike restaurants on the dining plan). Prices are reasonable. Most entrees are meat/rice/plantain-type dishes. The ambience is fun, and sometimes they have a Cuban band playing.

The make an excellent mojito. Warning: I ate at the bar once, and because the "bongo" stools are fastened to the ground, it wasn't the most comfortable. lol.

I really enjoy Bongos. My go-to meal there is:

Churrasco a lo Cubano (Cuban style Skirt Steak) - tenderized skirt steak grilled to perfection and served with fried green plantains, white rice and and black beans cup

It is a really huge portion (last time I got it the steak was hanging off the plate a la the Flintstones) and very tasty. It doesn't say it on the menu, but the times I've gotten it chimichuri sauce was included on the side, which I love. Not sure if that's changed. DH got the ceviche last time and enjoyed it.

I will agree with PPs' assessment of the staff, but we really enjoy our meals at Bongos. Is it the best, most authentic Cuban food you can get? No. But it's fair fare, and their drinks are top-notch.

We wanted to try this restaurant too....my step mother is Cuban and most of her food includes rice and plantains so makes sense that the restaurant has a lot of that food as well.

Since when! We have an ADR for Bongos 11/03/12 at 7:00pm that I made via the WDW site at 180 days out.

Bongos takes reservations. Maybe Babs meant reservations usually aren't necessary.

Just recently went there. The service and food were horrible. Previously it had always been good. Having been in Miami recently at the other restaurant I really expected more not worse.

I did not know this! It used to be they didn't take them. Good to know. I hope they didn't join the dining plan?
