We’re going to try going over the July 4 holiday this year. If we stay at Boardwalk how far is the walk to the back Epcot entrance? The goal is to bypass the Disney transportation if possible.

Thank you! That definitely seems like a plan. And if we waitlist Beach club that would be even closer if it came through I think.

If you plan to visit Hollywood Studios, then Boardwalk definitely is closer than Beach Club.

Much depends on the time of year. The walks are mostly uncovered and can be brutal in the sun.

Both walks are miserable in a downpour.

Beach Club gives you the option of the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios but that can really backup early in the morning or late at night.

We prefer walking but acknowledge that depending on weather, walking is not always the best option.

Roughly 1/2 a mile to EPCOT from Boardwalk lobby...

You are right, but I was just SHOCKED at this. It definitely does not feel like a half mile. But, yeah, I guess a 10 minute walk is a half-mile at an average walking pace... I think it's because there's just a lot to look at that you don't feel like you've walked a half a mile. We also frequently make a stop for ice cream or Boardwalk Joe's at the halfway mark

FWIW, OP, Hollywood studios is also within a very manageable walk of Boardwalk. Further than EPCOT (maybe a mile or so?), but it's still entirely on a well-marked, well-lit path that many people use. It would be a long walk from Beach Club.

It's these two walking options that make Boardwalk worth every cent to us.

It really doesn't seem like 1/2 mile, does it?! It could be a little bit more or less, depending on the building your room is in.

The walk from the BC lobby to HS entrance is almost exactly 1 mile (done it many times), so the walk from Boardwalk is much less than a mile to HS - if you end up heading that direction. If the 1/2 mile walk is daunting, the boat launch is right there at BW and a short relaxing ride to EP, International Gateway.

You're right. I was being a bit lazy and didn't map it. It looks like it's 0.7 miles from the Boardwalk elevators to the Hollywood Studios gate. I have done that walk a dozen times with toddlers. And I've seen people do it with ECVs and big strollers, so it's an accessible path as well, if that matters to OP. You do feel every foot of that walk, though, because - other than the canal that the boat uses - there's just not a lot to look at along the way, unlike the walk to EPCOT.

Unless I had a medical condition preventing me from walking, or unless I simply wanted a boat ride, there's no way I would take the boat from Boardwalk to EPCOT. That walk is just too easy and quick and convenient, even with the littlest of littles. And, if weather was the reason I was opting for a boat over the walk, I'd reconsider my decision to go to the park entirely. But, I get it, everyone is different and that's what makes the world go around!

great info! Thank you.

Boardwalk is our original home resort. As others have stated the walk is not bad. If you want to go to the monorail, then you have to cross the entire Epcot park. Which can be a chore. We usually take the boat to HS and walk to Epcot. Boat can be crowded at the end of the night, so sometimes we walk back. Recently we have been doing split stays between BWV and BLT. We can walk to all parks except AK. You just cannot beat the location or the vibe at Boardwalk.

Enjoy your stay!

It’s ~1/3 of a mile from BW to the Epcot tapstyles.

BC is even closer. One night we stayed there the skyliner line went down to Storm-along-bay. Our bed was closer than end of that line lol. Pretty much every room is a quarter mile or less from EP entry.

It’s about 1 mile from EP to HS.
