BLT Direct is $275 per point!!! What is going on?

I completely agree! I know it has a theming problem and is a little outdated but walk to MK and resale pricing makes this property look sooooo under rated in my opinion. When I saw those prices, I thought maybe Disney was onto something.

Isn’t it getting a facelift or refurbishment right now? Do you see resale going up in price after a refurb, cars land, villains, etc?

I don’t know if prices will go up on the resale market, but this is a resort you want to buy resale on if you want it. Same with Beach Club. Both very walkable and both very expensive direct. BLT is mid refurb. It looks pretty good. I don’t know that it will change pricing though.

It isn’t in active sales. Not sure why they didn’t match Grand Floridian’s pricing to BLT, but they didn’t.

Doesn’t BLT have a better point chart? It probably has something to do with that.

We were fortunate enough to stay in a two bedroom the first it was available after the refurbishment. The room itself was simply amazing and fantastic. But that’s where it ended for us unfortunately. The pool and surrounding areas are extremely boring and sterile. I’d stay there before buying
But if you buy RESALE you get a very low ppp and low dues….

The resale argument makes the most sense for BLT. Their $275 price tag is absolutely wild and yet a small number of people add on direct every month. They do occasionally run incentives but they are typically laughable.

We actually really like BLT (and are going to love it even more so after the refurbishment!) The points chart, convenience to MK, monorail line to hop over to Poly and GF, boat to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, lake views, community hall, Top of the World lounge, fireworks views, low dues and overall quiet nature of the tower (while being right next door to the Contemporary) are all things we appreciate.

The biggest downside for me is the pool area, which is very blah.

I booked a grand villa in May at BLT, preferred view. Fingers crossed it will be a refurbished unit. I used to think it was my favorite resort and I have never stayed there - I figured the TPV rooms and walking distance to MK were enough reasons for it to be a must own. Now I think the dues and resale price make it an excellent SAP+ candidate but $275 pp direct is beyond the pale.

I will be comparing the BLT grand villa to a 1bdrm TPV room at the Poly tower from a stay a couple months ago… looking forward to it!

Please let us know your thoughts on both rooms. I would like to stay at Poly Tower, but wondering if it's worth the extra points. BTW what does SAP mean, I've seen it used several times in different posts, but can't figure it out 🤣

Sleep Around Points
- DVC points you use to stay most anywhere besides the home resort of those points, within the 7 month window. You don’t particularly like the home resort of those points which is why you use them to book nice units elsewhere.

Sleep Around Points +
- DVC points you use to stay anywhere including the home resort of those points, and you’re ok with using them at 7 to 11 months because you like that home resort anyway.

Thank you 😊

I wonder how BLT direct at 275 per point compares to cash rates if you went and stayed magical year after year... my guess is buying BLT direct would still win...
