I would go with 350 for about an hour and half to 2 1/2 hours. I do wrap mine in foil if that makes a difference.

I would switch the potatoes midway cooking. Change the racks and flip the taters over.

I cook big taters often. I did used to do 500, on the top rack, but I found that can give a burnt flavor sometimes.

Huge baked potatoes.

Wrap in foil, poke holes in them with a fork, cook at 450-475 for at least an hour. Probably 1.5 hours. Put your hand in the oven (with a potholder on it) and squeeze the potato. If it gives, and gives well, it's done.

We nuke ours now and they come out great and a lot faster.

We microwave until they are just about cooked and then I coat them with a little olive oil and kosher salt and pop in the oven to make the skin crispy.

Yep, but I am the only one that likes the skin, so I usually just take them out right before done wrap them in foil to finish cooking.

This is typically what I do, too.

I've also done the half microwave/half oven thing. I don't think they taste as good when fully microwaved, but they are okay.

Also, to the OP's other question, it doesn't matter if you put one in the oven or 15 in the oven. Same amount of time. Now, if you microwave one or many, they time will definitely vary.

If you have an instant pot, you can put them in there and then finish in the oven.

I do smaller, too many carbs and my taste buds get bored no matter what toppings. Those giant ones are just too darn much!

I love the huge potatoes and usually cook @450 for an hour. I don’t like them cooked in foil.

Lol, I have trouble with the regular, smaller potatoes. They do not seem to cook all the way through no matter how long in the oven. I confess that Wendy's is an easy solution--they sell plain (or you can get toppings) baked potatoes already made :)

I was just discussing huge baked potatoes on FB. We were talking about how hard and dense they are lately. It’s really weird. FWIW the person I was talking to did them in the IP and was not a fan of the texture.

If you want crisp skin, no foil. I do 400-450 for an hour-hour and a half. Oil and salt the skins if I’m feeling fancy.

I make double-stuffed baked potatoes for the the holidays. I use potato nails for the potatoes. They look like the turkey nails but are much bigger. The inside of the potatoes cook more evenly. I baked them for 1-1 1/2 hours on 350/400, depending what else I have in the oven.

That’s what I do. We have baked potatoes often and 450 for an hour is perfect.

I coat mine in olive oil and rub them with some salt. No foil. They taste better than restaurant ones!

I agree that baked potatoes without foil are the best and I'll do that for my own family but the OP said she had a LOT to cook (sounds like a group thing) and it might be hard to do all that if your oven is stuff full of potatoes. The foil would make them easier to handle and set aside if she's doing a group thing. But I may have totally inferred too much from her post.
