Best way to book 2 rooms

I'm looking to book 2 2-bedrooms, 7 nights each, during a busy (on the DVCHelp website it shows the time as yellow 9-13) time at either OKW or SSR at 7 months.

For one 2-bedroom, I could book online using current and borrow points. For the 2nd, I need to call MS to buy OTU points so that I don't borrow as many and use transferred points.

Should I wait until the 7 month opens and call MS to book both/buy OTU points at the same time, if available, at either resort?

Or, should I try to book one online in the a.m. and then call MS and hope to book another in the same resort?

Or, should I try to book both, separately, online using current, transferred and borrow points, then call MS to put back borrowed points if I buy (I already have MMB) - is that even possible??

I don't remember what is involved with modifying reservations online but does it make sense to call MS and make the reservations for a few days before I actually want (if available) and then modify when the actual 7 months open? Can I do that myself online? I don't really like this idea - kind of wondering if it's possible and if anyone has done it.

I'm really hoping that, at the 7 month mark, 2 bedrooms will still be available at both resorts but I know things have gotten crazy.

Best Strategy (IMO):

Book one 2-bedroom online the second the 7-month window opens.

Immediately call MS to book the second room using your transferred + OTU points.

Have all your info and numbers ready to go when MS opens.

You’ll have a great shot at securing at least one room, and since SSR and OKW are both larger resorts, 2-bedrooms are usually available at 7 months.

EDIT: This strategy assumes you are avoiding borrowing points. If you don't mind borrowing, booking both rooms online right at 7mo would give you a better shot at availability.

You could do a 7 month booking ahead of time for earlier dates and purchase the OTU points for that. On the actual 7 month mark for the dates you want to stay, you can modify that and be able to book what you want online assuming the room is available. Basically you won't need to call MS at the 7 month mark this way.

Good idea, thanks! So, call MS to book a stay with OTU points, the transferred points and some current points. Then, modify that one and book the other with current and borrowed points at the 7 month.

FYI, you generally can’t “put back” borrowed points.
