What is a good walking sneaker for low arches? Looking to spend under $60 if I can. Was thinking New Balance, Asics or Saucony, but there are so many options. Looking for suggestions. Thanks!

I was wearing asics, but you also need a good arch support. My feet are flat , plus my left foot has a fallen arch. So for me I really need to change my shoes about every 3 months as the shoes wear out fast. I would buy mine at Kohl's.

I finally went to a running store and had my feet evaluated walking barefoot and walking and running on a treadmill. They suggested 3 pairs of shoes and had me walk and run on the treadmill in them, and then walk on concrete too. Maybe I could have gotten the pair of shoes I picked a little cheaper online, but they've been great shoes for me and worth every penny. The comfort and use of my feet, and as a result my ankles, knees and back are not where I want to buy something to save a little money.

i went to a real shoe store for this kind of advice, and they put me on a machine to read my feet and told me that the best thing to do is to get inserts specifically designed for the type of arches that I have (those cost $60) and to use the inserts in any shoe that has removable insoles. I was skeptical, but since I've been using those inserts, my feet, back and legs have been much happeir, even when I walked 30,000 steps in one day in MK.

I second the inserts idea. I had some custom made (they were very expensive, but insurance paid for them.) I don't have that great insurance anymore, but I would pay out of pocket for another pair in a heartbeat when these finally go. They make a huge difference and actually stopped some chronic lower back pain.

While these were being made, I also found out my legs aren't quite the same length. I've always been knock kneed with a funny looking walk. I used to wear the soles of my shoes out so unevenly that they never lasted, but the inserts changed that. I can put them in any shoe with a removable insert, so I buy cheap shoes now. I find the days I don't use my inserts, my feet or ankles hurt at night. If you have foot or walking problems that cause pain, it's really worth looking into. Maybe not for now, but in the long run (pun intended. :-) )

My husband has flat Fred Flintstone feed and his podiatrist recommends insoles, and also the rocker bottom shoes (used to be shape ups, but they don't make your behind look any better so they had to get rid of the name.).

DS20 has flat feet. I took him to a podiatrist who made him a pair of custom orthotics. They were pricey, but they're the best thing for his feet and legs.

I have flat feet and have been battling a foot injury since Christmas week. What works wonders for me are Skechers sneakers with a removable insert from CVS. They have made a huge difference in helping my foot heal. In the summer I wear Skechers sandals that have a raised arch in them.

AMEN! I did the same thing on my doctor's recommendation-I ended up popping for 2 sets of the ones from the orthotics store that they fitted me for that I keep in the shoes I most commonly use in a given season. my feet are so much better (as is my back which suffered from me walking wonky when my feet hurt). I've been able to go back to wearing my favorite shoes of all times (and the worst for flat feet according to every doctor I've ever spoken to)-VANS!!!

Asics or Brooks were best for me. I also had orthotics, made back pain diminish hugely
