Our microfiber loveseat is just a mess. I know microfiber is supposed to repel liquid spills, but our has never done that for the few spills we have had. But even then, that's on the seating cushions -- and the covers for those come off and go right into the wash. The real problem is just basic dirt from everyday use on the big rolled arms and on the bottom of the back cushions and on the top back corners where the cats love to lie.
I have tried every type of upholstery cleaner -- Tuff Stuff, Spot Shot, etc. -- but none seem to do anything. From what I've read, there are special cleaners that are made just for this type of fabric and I'm thinking that's what I need. I know my loveseat has a "W" cleaning tag; I can't remember if it also has an "S" or not.
For those of you with microfiber who have used any special cleaning products, what did you find worked best??
TIA!
Edit: Another quick question...
This loveseat is actually going to soon be "demoted" to the playroom, and I'm getting a new loveseat of the same type for the living room. I did not have this last one pretreated for stains and was wishing I had -- but now I'm reading that you shouldn't let anyone pretreat microfiber furniture because it can actually make it worse as far as stain protection goes. Can anyone comment on this??
