Best 2 Bedroom / Best 2 Bedroom Value / Best Location at WDW

I am needing to start planning our trip in February 2026 to WDW. My only home resort at WDW is CCV. I am a novice to DVC and WDW, and not super familiar with WDW overall.

We are a family of 6. 4 adults a 10 year old and 1 year old. We plan to visit all 4 parks for this visit, considering this...

What is the best bang for your point for a 2 bedroom at WDW?

What is the best location when visiting all parks if points are no issue?

Im thinking my home resort of CCV is not the best. But I could be completely wrong, am I?
I vote BLT for the room size and number of bathrooms with easy walkability for mid day naps for the 1yr old.

I’ve stayed in a 2 bdrm at BC, SSR, and BRV.
I wouldn’t pick a resort under room refurbishment as a rule and would prioritize already refurbished over transportation or closeness to a park.
BRV is my favorite and is the most points of the three.
I would pick more days over location.
I’ve not had a stroller at wdw ever.
My next 2bdrm I book will be at BLT and I’m very much looking forward to staying there.
Our last trip during spring break at Poly, my daughter and I rode the monorail over to blt to walk around and check out our new home resort.
The Contemporary is loud and busy with dining but the shops are fantastic. Walking out the back to the pool areas was so quiet and nice. Some say less theming but it was a stark difference to poly common areas outside.

No matter where you most want to stay, book your home resort CCV at 11 months and then try to switch at 7 months.

And in February, beware of competition at 7 months around Presidents’ Day 2/16 and the Princess Half Marathon weekend near that time. Very popular time to book - not as bad as Christmas or Fall Frenzy, but more popular and harder to book than late January.
Thanks. Had no idea about the marathon.
Im short points to fully book CCV. (I’m trying not to use this as an excuse to add more points at WDW). Haha

A few thoughts.

For "fun" have you looked at the point charts at OKW 3BR? Although not needed for a trip your size you may be shocked that a 3BR at OKW will be cheaper than a 2BR at some of the more expensive point chart resorts (VGC included). A 3BR at SSR standard view may be similar to a 2BR at a higher point chart resort too.

I'd give a vote for AKV-Kidani side for the extra bathroom. It's also an awesome resort in total but you do have to deal with the busses.

We had a great time at BWV in a 2BR garden view room and it's a solid location. Only two bathrooms and it is a lock off but should still have no issues sleeping your family.

We love CCV but usually we'll only have 4 of us in our 2BR if we go there. It's also the closest "twin" to VGC at WDW so you should see it for that. AKV is also same designer too.... The CCV rooms are beautiful but a bit on the small side. You may want to consider visiting the 2BR at BRV for a bit more sleeping spaces if you get the lock off.

We personally are giving a 2BR at OKW a go for the first time in a few weeks but again only 4 of us and we do rent a car.
Will you drive to the parks or bus?

I’m thinking if I bus I’d probably prefer AKV since there’s animals.

I’m not point chart familiar so I will look them up. But anyone know if there’s anywhere where two 1 beds wouldn’t be insanely more points than a 2 bedroom? I realize this is a crazy question. I also realize AKV value could do the trick on that but I won’t be able to snag that at 7 months.

Does not exist. A 1BR costs 75% give or take of a 2BR. That's why they're always booked last. A 1BR value at AKV may or may not be available at 7 months at least for a few nights.

I'm low key excited for the refurb to start booking these value 1BRs at 11 months for nearly studio prices.

I figured it was a pipe dream 🤣
Ability to book value rooms really gives AKV a leg up over some of the other resorts.

Well, there's so few of them for the most part it's not worth owning AKV for. Especially the studios which are pretty much constantly walked and there's commercial renters who target those rooms. The 1BR values though don't seem to be booked up immediately. The concierge rooms are basically the only reason why I'm holding my AKV points even though I've only been in able to stay in them a couple of times but again, likely not worth owning for 😬

I’d say this or Beach Club. You can get the 2 bedrooms there slightly more easily than Boardwalk probably because they aren’t all lockoffs. Location is excellent. The only downside is the bathroom door situation could be better, but it’s acceptable. We really liked our stay in the BCV 2 bedroom though.

I forgot to add: kids LOVE Cape May’s breakfast character buffet. It’s overpriced for food alone (like all of them) but fun…and if you want to see characters, probably worth the cost. They do a really good job.. They offer DVC and Annual Pass discounts.

Unpopular opinion, but SSR is amazing lol We stayed there with my 7 month old and it was great. Our bus experience was flawless. We stayed in the Grandstand, so first to pick up and first to drop off. Our room was right by the bus stop, and from what I could tell they were always prompt for all the parks. The pools are great and the staff is soooo kind! Taking the boat to DS was fun as well. SSR scores even more points if you rent a car, took like 9 mins from our room to our parking spot in Epcot, plus you can park right outside your building :) The rooms are nice, and out of all the budget friendly 2 bedrooms, SSR is currently the only one with a murphy bed and not a pull out couch. BWV would be nice, but it will be extremely hard to get a 2 bedroom since they are all lock offs I believe.

Edit: If points aren't an issue, RIV 10000%. Skyliner is money with a stroller since you do not have to collapse it. My little guy napped from Epcot to Primo Piatto where we got lunch. He slept almost the whole time since I did not have to remove him. Also, it has its own dedicated bus stop to MK and AK. Poly shares with GF. BLT and BRV/CCV share a bus. BCV and Yacht Club share, sometimes even with BWV. It's madness lol The bus sharing at Deluxe Resorts truly is mind boggling lol

There are three. AKV-Resort, SSR-Resort, and OKW are all within a few points of each other most of the time. AKV (at Kidani) has the third bathroom. SSR has easy access to Disney Springs. OKW has the largest units. Of the three, I have a small preference for OKW, because the verandas are huge and most have lovely views, plus there's a little nostalgia---it was the first DVC resort we ever stayed at.

Personally, I'd pick something in the BCV/BWV/RIV set if you are doing a "balanced" trips where no one park is the focus. They all have easy access to both Epcot and Studios, and you'd bus to the other two.

RIV is going to be the most points, and -Resort will be difficult, but Preferred is probably doable outside of Fall Frenzy. BWV-Resort or -Boardwalk are both more or less impossible at 7 months. Garden/Pool might be doable, but you will have to be fast on the draw, because all of them are lockoffs as mentioned above. BCV is hard just because BCV is hard. But if you aren't going during Fall Frenzy you have a shot.

I think Poly is a dark horse here---in the MK area, plus a walk to the Epcot monorail without having to take the Resort line. The problem is that I suspect the 2BRs, which are only in PIT, are going to be nigh impossible at 7 months, plus it is as far form the Epcot monorail station as you can get while still being at the Poly.

Also, some tools you might or might not know about.

First, DVC Request (aka David's) has a cost calculator that will tell you values of arbitrary stays, denominated in points. It is very convenient for comparing different alternatives for the same dates: https://dvcrequest.com/dvc-guests/cost-calculator

Second, DVC Help has historical availability charts that will give you a sense for how easy/hard something will be to book. They don't track lockoffs separately--for a lockoff you can look at both the Studio and 1BR charts. If units aren't available in both then the lockoff isn't available either: https://www.dvchelp.com/page/how-do-the-charts-work

Ok chiming in again. I will have to agree that OKW has the best 2br units. OKW feels more like an apartment complex than hotel. we really love the vibe. It was always our goto for 2 BR before we added on at BLT. It used to be easy to book at 7 months, so we never felt the need to add on there. The dedicated 2br at BLT are fantastic. Great layout and kitchen area. 3 bathrooms were a godsend. However as others have said, it is a little plain. We were disappointed with the lobby and decor at first, but that quickly went away. Have not seen the latest refurb. It seems worlds away from the Contemporary.

Our first trip to AKV is in November. However we are springing for a 3br at Jambo. A real splurge. Really can't wait to experience AKV as it arguably has the best theming. Ok CCV is pretty great as well! As with all decisions there are trade offs. OKW has space and tranquility but has a long bus route. BWV has great location, but 2br are only lock offs. BLT has a great point chart and location, but is a bit lacking on theming. When we were first starting out, we chose length of stay over all other considerations. Now it is location and vibe over all else. There is no right answer, just what is right for you at the time.

We are suckers for a good character meal and have never been to this one. Extra point for BCV!

Love the tip on David’s, I hadn’t thought about that.

Thought about RIV since we live the skyliner but I’d use up most of my VDH points. Hard choice. But know I would love it there.

Based off what you and others have said sounds like BCV/BWV might be our best option.

Thanks so much for the insight. I do think OKW will be great for us once we have visited WDW more and want a more relaxing trip.

I love theming but also love a close walk. Might be why I am a huge VGC fan.

I’m thinking if I bus I’d probably prefer AKV since there’s animals.
We get a car but will do a mixture of both. I prefer to drive to HS and EPCOT. AK is a mixed bag and it depends on what the goals are for the day. ALWAYS bus to MK due to the whole TTC issue only being half the journey.

AKV is a great resort with top theming, great food, and yes the animals. I think we have stayed there a total of about 14 nights so far since becoming members a few years ago and I keep telling myself that perhaps one day it may get old, the magic of sitting out on your balcony and enjoying your coffee or something and watching the animals..... still hasn't to this day. It's awesome and a unique experience that you can't get in CA. WL get's a very slight edge as my favorite resort at WDW but only by a fraction, AKL is a very close second. Both WL and AKL (Jambo) main lobby have the same magic feeling as when you enter the GC lobby for the first time but at a slightly higher scale. They also feel less crazy given their size and they don't have the busy airport feel that you get at the GC with all of the cross traffic.

I love theming but also love a close walk. Might be why I am a huge VGC fan.
Sadly nothing quite like VGC at WDW.

There was an old thread about what the different core themes of the different DVC resorts were a few years ago and VGC was one of the rare resorts that was allowed to have two, Fancy and Theme. I think Aulani was also in this category :)

Perhaps the new Island tower also can be in the running for this.....

Thanks. Had no idea about the marathon.
Im short points to fully book CCV. (I’m trying not to use this as an excuse to add more points at WDW). Haha
Keep in mind that CCV’s points charts are just a tiny bit higher than BWV/BCV because it was built on BRV’s charts. Only OKW will be cheaper. So if you’re short points to fully book CCV for your dates, what are your plans for AKV, SSR, or BLT? Transfer points in? Rent?

In any case, standard advice here is to book what you can at your home at 11 months, because you can’t be sure you’ll be able to get the dates you want elsewhere (or at your home!) if you wait until 7 months.
