Thursday 2nd June
It's another beautiful day, they've promised 80 F for the temperature.
I don't know where the time's gone it's the last day already
When we get down for breakfast at 8am. there is aqueue at the desk already and we had to wait 5 minutes. ( I know it's not long but shows it's worth dragging yourself outof bed for the earlier times).
Not long after both the Beaver Tavern and the one for Hunter's Grill, for those wanting a cooked breafast , are all mixed up and thronging in the foyer.
Having seen how close the other hotels are from the balloon, I went for a stroll along the river to the Cheyenne . (Dw is having her quick lie down after breakfast, I told her I dont know what she's going to do when she gets to my age (all of 52), she'll never keep up). can I put brackets inside brackets?
To my surprise I found it only about 15 yards further than the last lodge of the SL. It looked nice, people were sat outside in the hot sun eating breakfast at the benches.
By 10.30 the bags are in the baggage area, (the cleaners were already hovering outside the room ready to pounce as we left it), and we're off to the parks.
We wanted to chatch the MASS in the Studios today so we can make sure we have covered everything we can . While we waited for the queue to build up for the 12 noon show I took the chance to nip on RRC while Dw sat under the umbarellas at the cafe next door. It's really hot outside already,so when I came off I popped in the cafe for drinks , the service is really slow. The Coke is nearly room temperature by the time I get out.
More elbows for queue jumpers again today, these ones were British Too!!
I deliberately haven't gone into too much detail on the shows because I don't want to spoil things for those who haven't been before. But make sure you don't miss it.
After the show we strolled back to the main park and had lunch in NY Deli, more Croque Monsieur, the hot cheese sandwich. (I don't want to see a cheese toastie for at least 6 months after this) But they are good and filling and cheap (for Disney).
We haven't got too long left now and stroll through the shady areas of Fronteirland and Adventureland (the heat's really building up now , it must be well over 80F in the sun.
We didn't rush for rides as it's also very busy, the busiest it's been all week.
After walking through Aladdin's Enchanted Passage we walke throgh the arcades on Main Street as they are cool and shady.
Dw wants a last ride on the railroad but the queue at Main Street station was huge, so I went to the RRC for a last go. It's nearly 3pm. by now and it should be quiet as they should be queueing for MASS.
I get on 6 times between 3and 3.50pm , but it's not the walk on like we had on Sunday, there are short queues. ( I don't know what they're all doing here they should be outside in the MASS. )
I rang DW to see how she was getting on the train and thinks I'm being smart when I tell her I've been on 6 times.( I'm stopping now as I can feel the cheese protesting in my stomach. I must be getting old).
A last cool drink in the Redwood lounge at SL and we go for the cases ready for the 5.30 VEA, we don't need to go till 6 but I see from the timetable that we are the next to last stop on the pickup for CDG.
A bus tured up at 5.20 and we're so twitchy and nearly throw the cases on before we realise it's the Disney shuttle bus .
It finally turns up, it's empty and we are first on.
CDG aiport departure is as confusing as ever and we finally find the check in desk and can settle down on nearby seats. last time we were here they were doing building work and there was no food or toilets after security so we make sure we can find them both.
It's teatime and we haven't eaten since lunch, so we get a meal deal from the bakery.
Good job we came on the earlier bus becaus ehen the 6pm. bus arrives along come all the Disney carrier bags en masse.
the flight was 9.15pm. and you are so fast through security I don't know why we have to be there so early.
Landed after an unevenful flight , no "terrorist" in a hoodie this time
It's a beautiful evening and for a chang we can see as we cross the channel, the French coast, Kent , and the Thames estuary right up the Coast to Suffolk. (Or at least I can DW won'tlook out the window )
We clear the airport just before10.00pm. Dw doesn't wnt to drive home so late so we have booked into the Raddisson SAS hotel attatched to the airport terminal, The shuttle from the Marriott can collect us at our convenience in the morning to collect the car.
This place is much nicer than the Marriott ( though they've got firm foam pillows too). And more expesive because we have to pay the midweek buisness rates. But itwas woth it for the breakfast.
A ful AYCEl cold buffet, toast and when I turned around piping hot cooked breakfast agin AYCE and piping hot and fresh..
Well Taht's it we're both now back in work and have to wait for the summer for touring the nNorth of England in the Motorhome not long 18th July
