With WDW now asking more often for those in scooters to remove their backpacks off the back I was wondering if anyone knows of a good backpack. My current backpack is strapped onto the scooter. Taking it off is almost impossible. I have looked at several stores but have not found a backpack that has buckles to simply release. Just throwing the backpack over the back of the chair with the shoulder straps does not work. It has fallen off on several occasions. Does anyone know of a store or website that sells these types of backpacks? I have been to Walmart, Target and Shopko with no luck. I obviously don't want to spend $100 for one. I will go up to $50 if need be.

my friend has something similar to this one http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/s...1_1628712_-1?gclid=CMq4nIPT99QCFYcdgQodOfcJRQ

it is a cooler and works very well at keeping things cold ( we use a gallon zip lock back and put it at the bottom, then thought a hand towl over it and put out food in ( in zip lock bags) then the non food things on top, in all we normally have 3 of 4 bags like one bag with out lunch food one for dinner and one for none food. very easy for security to go thought, and there is a buckle that holds in on the back of the ECV.

you could use it as a simply a back back too for things.

Is there another link so I could see it as I'm looking for one also

is the link not working? my friend uses a cooler back pack, that has a chest strap. If the link dose not work try googling cooler back pack ( I think most cooler back packs have chest straps)

here is a none cooler backpack with a chest strap https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-35L-Choteau-Daypack-Backpack/36606594

I have found the cooler back packs at my local Walmart/ Target stores in the camping area, if you do not want the cooler ones, the back packs in the camping area have them too ( the ones for day hicks) also if you have any sporting stores they would also be good places to look too.

i see it now.

i tried it soon after you posted it and kept getting error.

it does look like a perfect back pack!

The one my friend has is amazing at keeping foods cold even it hot weather

The cooler backpack is very neat; however; I am in need of a backpack for sweatshirts, camcorder, umbrellas and misc other items. One problem I am running into is if the backpacks have buckles (sternum strap) they are huge and will not fit properly on the back of the scooter chair. If they are small they do not have the buckles. So frustrating. We went shopping yesterday at a couple sports stores with no luck.

How about tying the backpack to the scooter?

Don't attach it until after you have gone through security. Use yarn or string or a shoelace where the buckle would be.

the buckles are not that big ( my friend has nervdamage in her back where the buckle go and any thing touching it hurts but these are so small that it dose not bother her,

do you have your own ECV that you can take to the store and see how it would work,

and with the padding on the cooler bag would give your camera extra padding.

We have done that with the current backpack I have. But it is such a pain to make sure it does not come lose or on one occasion where it got knotted tightly and was a pain to get off.

Sorry I didn't mean the buckles. I meant the backpacks. The backpacks that have the sternum buckle are usually 30l or bigger and are just way to big for the back of the scooter chair.

oh we just make it as small as it can go and have never had a problem with the back pack sliding off, and it is really easy to just lift the back pack off if security need to have it off, or if we take it off at the end of the day for why resion

We also use a regular backpack. Just tighten the straps and slide them over the armrests. When the armrests are lowered they hold the backpack on.

What about getting some Velcro Onewrap and cutting off a section long enough to go around the shoulder straps and "create" the equivalent of a buckle on any backpack you want? Bonus: turn it "soft" side out, and you may not even know it is there, unlike a sternum buckled pack.

I use Onewrap all the time at home for everything from cable management to keeping things attached to my persona ECV. Great stuff - and you can often find it at Target or Walmart as well (typically in the tool department)

I was going to suggest this. I nice ribbon, would work, too.

I have a floral backpack which hangs nicely over the back of the seat of my hired scooter. Funnily enough, it fits better on the 'cheaper' model seat than the 'captain style' seat due to the width. It hasn't fallen off yet, but I can always tie it on if I need to.

Incidentally, I also bought an extendable padlock which I sometimes use to 'chain' the bag to the seat, and the cable is fine enough that it'll fit through the zip fastener loops. I basically tie it all up and then press the button and retract all the slack back inside the body of the lock which prevents people being able to work on getting the zip open.

This backpack by Hot Tuna is absolutely amazing.

At the bottom of the shoulder straps it has quick release clasps which means it's super easy to get the backpack off the scooter. It also has a chest strap, which gives me an extra bit of security as it fastens across the seat of my scooter.

It's an amazing bag! It's designed to be used as a backpack or as a soft suitcase, so has a carry handle on the side and also a shoulder strap which is detachable. Laptop pouch is brilliant at stopping things like maps and paperwork getting ruined, and the front pockets are perfect for meds and ponchos, or an autograph book and pen. :D x

Why is WDW saying to take backpacks off scooters?

Everyone has to place all bags on the table now during security screening. The one exception I have (personally) seen to this was another Guest in a motorized wheelchair who what appeared to be a soft cooler under his chair. His companion pulled the bag from under the chair and placed it on the ground to the side, and the security officer checked it after he had checked everything else.

I have a little cargo area on my personal ECV, and it now has to be completely empty when I go through bag check.

(that's why we love the Express Transportation on Park Hopper days - you only have to go through bag check once, at your first park of the day, provided you never leave the Parks until you are "done" for the day, since you go from secured zone to secured zone.)

Stupid question of the day let's say I invest in that bag for dh is there a rule that says I can't attach it to a rented ecv of site, if I could it would safe me in so many ways
