Artist Point or Jiko - The Cooking Place?

Hi

I'm trying to decide where to eat on our last night (we're staying at AKL), and at the moment I'm looking at either Artist Point or Jiko - The Cooking Place (although other recommendations are welcome). We're new to WDW but on our last night we're hoping to catch up with some friends who are seasoned Disney-ers. They've left it up to us to choose a place, which was exciting but now I feel spoiled for choice.

We're also probably eating at Sanaa and Boma during our trip, and other dinners will include Liberty Tree Tavern, BOG and CRT. There won't be any kids in our group, so character dinners aren't essential.

Any suggestions/recommendations welcome.

Thank you

Jen

Tough choice. I've been to both several times over the past few years, and both are fine choices. Artist Point (AP) has had some consistency issues over the past 3-4 years which they seem to have solved during our last two visits. The ambiance at AP is topnotch, especially if you ask to be seated by a window overlooking the courtyard. The wine list is excellent and the food is also expertly prepared. That being said, I would still likely opt for Jiko. The ambiance is nearly as lovely, the service is notable, and the menu has a little more flair than AP's. Moreover, Jiko is right there at your resort which makes for easy access. Since you're staying at AKL, you might want a change of pace, and certainly, AP would make an excellent option. Still, Jiko has been consistently good over the years, and since you wouldn't have to travel on your last night (packing), I'd go with Jiko. Either way, I think your Disney-experienced friends will like your choice.

Interesting dilemma. Both are really good choices. Normally I'd agree with @Pepper pots above, but seeing as how you will have already done Boma and Sanaa, I would suggest AP just because its different.

Since you are staying at AKL, I would go with Jiko as it is at your hotel. Both restaurants are great. I think Jiko is a little bit better though.

Since you are staying at AKL and are eating at Sanaa and Boma, I would switch it up a bit and go to Artist Point. I do like Jiko, but Artist Point is consistently stellar and the atmosphere and service are exceptional.

Jiko, hands down. Artist Point has gone down hill in recent years and Jiko's food is way better!

We've never eaten at Jiko, but we love Artist Point. Like a pp said, since you are already eating at Sanaa and Boma, I'd go with Artist Point. Good luck.

Well I will say after going to Jiko for the first time this past August I will not be going back. I thought the food was just ok and the price was not worth it. Next time around I will just go to Sanaa which I thought was a much better meal than Jiko.

Jiko...love them both but if I had to chose one it would be Jiko...and since you are staying at AKL, that would make my choice even easier.

If it were me, I'd go against the grain and visit the restaurant that's *not* at my hotel. I like seeing other resorts during my stay and usually book a signature at a different locale than where I sleep. Using a taxi/Uber to get from resort to resort is a very quick, affordable option that makes going away from my hotel for a 'night out' easy. I just feel like it's more special to go out to eat and 'sight see' away from my home resort. That is a personal preference.

On another note, the best meal and most magical experience I've had at a signature was at Artist Point. I'm not a big fan of WL's theming from a "I want to stay there for a week" standpoint...but I really enjoyed visiting the resort and LOVED our night out at their signature.

Jiko! I have eaten here once and not only did we have wonderful service, the food was spectacular. I would definitely eat here again.

AP! I think you may have had enough of the African/Indian cuisine and be ready for a change. I love the cobbler for dessert! You can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Enjoy!

Earlier I said either Jiko or AP and you couldn't go wrong either way. Still true, but upon further reflection, I'd agree with those suggesting AP over Jiko. You will have had both Boma and Sanaa, so a change would be nice. Don't know your tastes, but my suggestions would be the mushroom bisque (appears to be a slight change as it used to be portobello), the salmon or buffalo filet or scallops, and though their signature dessert is the berry cobbler (and it is good), it's no longer the cobbler that made them famous. Too much dough and not enough fruit. I'd go for the homemade donuts with the lingonberry. Stunningly good. Again, no matter what you choose, you'll be fine.
