I have on two occasions and will be using them for a future cruise. They offer a list of providers with various coverage options. I have never had to file a claim, so I am not sure how they are with those.
I purchase USAA travel insurance for each trip. I compare and they are always the cheapest. Cannot speak to the claim service. If I buy the insurance within 21 days of deposit, I purchase Worldwide Trip Protector as it includes the pre-existing condition clause. I usually end up with Worldwide Trip Protector Lite because I am forever changing travel plans / dates.
We have travel insurance through USAA for our upcomongg cruise. I also used them a little over a year ago when we rented a beach house in SC. We did not need to make as claim. In both cases the quoted rates were reasonable and I have great faith in USAA's quality of service. I booked our recent cruise insurance on their website and will continue to use them in the future.
if you google USAA travel insurance you'll get a teaser page and then need to login to the USAA site with your regular account info. And away you go . . .
I bought it for my upcoming trip (and will be buying it for the October one we have booked too). Very easy to buy, can't talk to claims. To me, it meant something that USAA backed it even though its not through them. I went with the highest coverage for my upcoming trip cause it was so cheap ($28 pp - 4 night cruise on military rate).
I've also purchased my cruise insurance through USAA (or the company that provides the service) for this cruise and my previous cruises, but I haven't ever had to file a claim. Definitely the best price I've found with options that work best for me. I compared what I could get through them with options from InsureMyTrip and USAA's provider has been better.
I booked my insurance through them for our upcoming cruise. The price is great. First time so I can't comment on service, but whenever we've had a claim on our auto insurance over the last 32 years they have been outstanding.
We have found the insurance through Costco to be even less expensive. You can also get the waiver of pre-existing conditions as long as purchased by paid in full date. Further, you keep this coverage even if you don't cover all non refundable expenses. You must have booked your cruise through Costco. --Suzanne
I've used them for any trip that cost $$$! Love them! I have filed a claim for my homeowners insurance with them and it was relatively easy peasy, the only hiccup was my claim got a bit lost when Hurricane Sandy hit as I filed just a day prior! I would suspect travel insurance claims would be handled much the same!
