Staying at Kidani on our August trip, I usually try to book several restaurants local to our resort so is there any reason I should not try to book all of the AK restaurants? Sanaa, Jiko and Boma.

It will be a 6-day trip prior to our cruise.

We will also book Tusker House for one of our character meals.

At the resort we usually do a breakfast or dinner never lunch. Any recommendations on where to have breakfast?

We have had breakfast at Sanaa and it was a wonderful experience. It’s different at breakfast in that you order at the bar and go find a table many of which are along the windows, your food will be brought to you. The views of the animals were great but the food was just average. We have also had dinner at Jiko and it was excellent. Boma gets high reviews but we haven’t tried it since we are not fans of buffets ..

If you like trying new restaurants, you should absolutely try Sanaa, Boma, and Jiko, which are 3 very different experiences. I have not had breakfast at Sanaa, but my family has done breakfast at Boma a couple of times on the day we leave for a cruise. That works well to keep us fed before we can get lunch on the ship. It also allows us to get a leisurely breakfast without feeling that we're missing out on park time.

Thanks

Depending what time transportation will pick us up for the cruise breakfast at Boma sounds like a great idea.

If your 6 year old tolerates restaurants well, lots of kids eat at Jiko

Jiko is fantastic for dinner, we loved it, even our DD who was 3 and a half at the time enjoyed it, though she's bougie.

We also enjoy doing Boma for breakfast on our checkout day so we don't feel like we need to eat at the airport. Never tried Sanaa but have heard good things, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

If you are going to plan a pool day (which in August I would highly suggest doing in the middle of your trip to reboot a little), don't ignore Sanaa as a lunch option. When staying at AKL, we usually book the first lunch ADR at around 11:30 on a pool day. The restaurant is quiet and you are basically guaranteed a table by the windows. It makes for a great mid-day break.

One of the things that draws us to AKL are the restaurants. We just always felt Boma is the best buffet on property, Sanaa the best 1TS restaurant and Jiko the best Signature. We are staying 2 nights prior to a DCL cruise in May, no parks, and plan on having Boma for dinner on our arrival night and breakfast on our departure morning, Sanaa for lunch and Jiko for our other dinner (unless we decide to go to DS, we already have a RR ADR through OT).

I would absolutely do the entire Jambo/Kidani rotation over a six day trip. I would not wast Sanaa on breakfast; I am a fan of Boma at breakfast. If you do that, I think Tusker for lunch/dinner would not be overkill. But I probably would not do both Boma and Tusker for a "not breakfast" meal on the same trip.

Book a Boma breakfast for a day you are going to be hungry! I love Boma for all meals. I don't love the crowds but once you are inside it's great.

Jiko has been amazing on most of my visits. On several occasions it was me and my youngest DD. She dined with me as early as age 6, and loved it. We were sat in the Wine room at least once at a two top and were all alone for most of our meal. Then just before check time a large group were seated. We enjoyed some special attention in there. She was a quiet child and behaved well in most restaurants. Can't say the same for my son.

At other times we were 2 in the main dining room and also part of larger groups. Never a problem. Well one problem, they took one of my fave entrees off the menu, but there were lots of things I enjoyed.

I've only dined at Sanaa twice and it didn't wow me. Never had breakfast or lunch, just dinner. I did like the press pot coffee.

My early idea was Tusker for breakfast on our pool day with Sanaa for dinner that night. Jiko on our arrival day when we don’t do much except enjoy the resort. I liked the idea of Boma on our departure day as long as it works with our transportation to the Port.

So far we will also try Garden Grill and Ohana.

I like to give my granddaughter multiple character meals.

My daughter wants to try Space 220.

Those 7 reservations should be fine. The balance will either be quick service or at our room.

Tusker House is in AK, right next to the Festival of the Lion King show and around the corner from the Safari. If you're going to enter AK for breakfast, maybe you could add one or both of those to your plans? To justify the use of a park admission? Or were you thinking of Boma, in AKL Jambo House, or Sanaa, in AKV Kidani?

After finally trying Jiko on our last trip it is now on our top 3 list of restaurants.

We have eaten at Boma 2 or 3 times each for breakfast and dinner. That was a number of years ago and I have since acquired an aversion to buffets. It's not the best or the worst buffet in the world. It's worth a try if you haven't eaten there.

Sanaa we usually use for afternoon drinks and cocktails, but, we haven't dined there.
