All About Fixed Weeks (RIV/CCV/AUL/VGF/POLY/TOWER/VHD/FWC Charts)

If you have a fixed week, does it reserve those days regardless of what you do? For instance, if I had a week Sun-Sat, could I change some of it (like if I wanted to do a split stay for 3 of the 7 days), or does changing any of it cancel the fixed week, & I have to go back into only if available?
You are stuck with the full 7 nights… all or nothing.

You can always contact member services and request that they cancel it. Then you get your allotted points for that year to use however you want.

If you decide to borrow points from a use year, you will not get your week automatically booked for the year you borrowed your points from, either.

There's still flexibility for point usage, but there is no adjusting your automatic booking.

You cannot change it, except to cancel/opt out.

That’s not quite true for event weeks but those are not currently sold.

Yes, that’s why I said technically my week is Week 44, as they had to assign it a week when I purchased it.

The contract says that my week will be booked for “the week during which the event occurs”, but there’s no specific language for what happens when rhat is not the week 44 or the event date is announced after 11 months. I suspect I may be SOL but am waiting for them to reply back.

In this case, the week the run moved to is the week I plan to go to Disneyland with my BFF and her kids, so I won’t be using my runDisney benefits this year. I just want to know what happens in this situation.
I thought I'd update everyone -- DVC Member Services reached out to me, and moved my runDisney fixed week to Oct 19-26 to correspond with the new run dates. AND because the studios were already booked out for the week, they gave me an upgrade to 1BR at Copper Creek instead of my usual studio.

So does this throw a wrench in your plans? I thought you said you weren't going to use this week anyway.

I had not been planning to use it this year, but I confess we're now debating whether or not we will given the upgrade and the fact that there's a possibility our other plans might be falling through. :-)

Curious - did they expand on how it happened? Is it on the owner to realize the race moved and ask to change the week?

They did not, and I admit I didn't think to ask at the time. In this case, it did seem to be on me to realize that the week booked was not the same as the announced run week. They handled it to my satisfaction, and hopefully this means they'll put some process in place next time around for checking for this. I noticed that it took a couple of years before they had a good process around the pre-registration race benefit, too. I'm guessing these are large factors into why they stopped offering the runDisney weeks.

If runDisney does not announce the race until well into the home resort period, I don't think there is anything they can do, other than what they did. They can't hold a whole range of weeks waiting to see what will happen.

I'd still love to see the Event Week Product Understanding Checklist if you happen to have it.
