After Hours Events - Ask Questions and Share Experiences Here

I'm looking to purchase tickets for the MK AH on 1/13 (keeping my fingers crossed that there will still be tickets available on Tuesday as I know that this date is popular with those of us doing Marathon Weekend). Is there anyway to find out the total cost of a ticket for that date with tax? I want to use some Disney gift cards, but need to make sure that I have enough to cover the cost.
The tax is 6.5%.

With after hours at DHS/EP kid crowd wise: Is it mostly adults with kids sprinkled in or kids running amok?

I did not see a lot of kids but then I got there early and did the Toy Story land. Then we had dinner at 50s diner, jumped on RnRC, ToT and watched Fantasmic. That left our evening for Star Wars land and character meets. I did not notice a lot of “little” kids. We had our granddaughters who are 11 and 13. It was great and we had minimal waits. One stroke of luck: we saw that Rise was down before dinner and still offline after fantasmic. We met stitch and Jiminy Cricket and walked back, did star tours and as we entered the Star Wars area as we were walking by Rise I heard someone say, “it’s open now”? We were right there and walked into the ride. Then we went to the droid depot and let the girls make droids. It was a great night. We rode everything except we missed the muppets. Even got popcorn and ice cream, something we normally bypass.

Thinking about staying at The Grand Floridian, partially for convenience to MK for the after hours event but I’m reading the monorail and boats don’t run at the end of the event - so the only option then is a bus? Or walking back, I guess. I’ve read conflicting answers on this.

So is it safe to say that, compared to the Halloween & Christmas parties where unique entertainment themed to those holidays are the main priorities or focus, the AH events are pretty much just about the rides and short lines?

Don’t forget the free snacks all night long.

Yes, but Hollywood Studios offered a bunch of not typical character meets during AH in '24. Jiminy Cricket, White Rabbit, Rescue Rangers, Rafiki, etc.

EPCOT had a DJ near Guardians. I don't think Magic Kingdom offered anything unusual.

Going to be in Orlando prior to a cruise for a few days end of March. Wasn't planning on going to the parks due to the crowd sizes that time of year (have been spoiled with low crowds usually going end of August and also for the Halloween parties). Have never been to an AH but was able to get tickets to both MK and HS while we are there. Haven't been to HS for years, prior to Star Wars land. Popcorn, drinks and ice cream are a bonus.

I'm going to the MK AH in January (the Monday after Marathon Weekend) and was hoping for more information about the special showing of Enchantment. How crowded is the hub for the viewing? How early should we plan on showing up? I adore nighttime shows so I want a good view, but I am going to a) have just run 48.6 miles over the previous four days and b) not want to waste an unreasonable amount of our limited time waiting around.

Next question - the attractions list on the Disney website doesn't list Tiana's as being available during AH. Is this true?

The hub is not at all crowded you can walk up at any time and pretty much have a spot anywhere you want. There is a red wagon refreshment stand to the right side of hub facing castle where you can get drinks and popcorn to enjoy while you watch.

You can always just start the purchase process on the website.

I’m going to be at the AH also. I hope it’s not too crowded. I’ve heard if a couple different people being at that one.

Did an AH Magic Kingdom event last April.

I think we walked up 20 minutes before fireworks and were able to sit down and enjoy the fireworks from a great spot in the hub and remain seated the entire time. It was at the very front of the hub. Maybe my party was a lightly attended party? Not sure but one of the highlights of our trip and already have another AH MK event booked for March of 2025.

We went to after hours at HS last night and had a great time. It was definitely more crowded than past years, and it wasn't sold out, but the waits were still low, especially later in the night.

Rise was down for I think most of the night, so that probably impacted the crowds.

The nicest thing is they had the boats running after the event, last time we did the HS after hours they didn't, so it was great to take the boat home this time!

ETA - I wanted to do a more thorough review, but this keeps crashing on my phone, so I'll post more details this weekend when I'm home.

Did they have an 8 pm showing of Fantasmic! or just the one at 9:30? Dod you happen to see special characters?

We actually arrived just before park close at 9 since it was so cold out, so I'm not sure about an 8:00 Fantasmic. They did have special characters. We saw Geppetto, Jiminy Cricket, and the White rabbit and they had no lines when we met with them so we got a lot of time with each one.
