Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can get the 3oz. containers that they allow on the planes to carry on. I can find them, but not waterproof! I want to carry Motrin cold in one and I can't find them. Any tips would be great!!
Thanks!

Are you talking about the ziplock bags? If you are taking motrin cold in liquid form you need to leave it in the orginal bottle and it can be 3.4oz If you need a bigger bottle then put it in your checked luggage.

I didn't know that Motrin cold comes in a 3.4 oz bottle. I have only seen and gotten the big bottles. Are the little ones at any big retailer? I know they have them behind the counter now.
Thank you!

Most drug stores should have plastic bottles you can put stuff inside. If not, you could also try Sephorra or Aveda. Both have travel sized containers for sale in sets.

... and most checkpoints will not let them through, because they claim that the capacity is not written clearly anywhere on them. Using a Sharpie to write 3 oz. won't do -- they want a mfr.'s pre-printed content label or a molded capacity marker.

I have several 3 oz. cylinder bottles that I got at WalMart before the liquids ban. They have a molded "3 oz" on the bottom, but it is tiny, and even using a crayon to highlight it, TSA said it was too small to see clearly.

The best thing to do is just to buy the cheapest sample products you can find, wash out the bottles and refill with your preferred products.

Weird. The ones I bought have the info printed clearly on them and I've had no problem going through security with those particular bottles.

I always used to get my mini dose bottles from my pediatrician. Sine they were so hard to get I would just wash them with soapy water & then soak them in boiling water to re-fill & use them, detatch the dropper to clean it properly. Maybe you could call your Dr's office and explain the situation. Mine always had mini Motrin & Tylenol on hand for when the kids got vaccinated. I think they also gave me mini Benedryl.

I thought that there wasn't a limit on the amount of liquids needed for medicinal purposes (either over the counter or prescription). I thought that they just had to be in a separate bag from your regular Ziploc bag and that they had to be declared to an agent. Is this wrong?

try walmart in the back by the femine products and shavers (the travel sized area) OR the craft dept. I got clear ones there that I use!

There is no size limit on liquid meds, and yes, for best results you need to put them into a separate baggie (any size on this one) and put them in the bin alongside your one-quart toiletry baggie.

Many people have reported issues re: contact lens solution. Some TSO's seem to get adamant that it is not a med but a toiletry and will insist that it meet the 3.4 oz. limit and fit into the toiletry bag. It is hit or miss whether this happens.
