2025 Wine and Dine

It is so bad. :rotfl2: It reminds of those bad 80s direct-to-video sequels of Disney movies where the art is similar to the original, but obviously of a much lower quality. Like Aladdin 4: Jafar May Need Glasses. I don’t really run the races based on the art or themes, but these are just terrible. Please stop killing Wine & Dine, it’s my favorite weekend!

I am blah.... about the themes.. I do not understand how some of them go with wine and dine.... the style of the art is okay.
I am still going to do it though since I already have my dvc booked for it and our APs will end in Nov and we are not renewing. Also I am working on doing every challenge one year at a time since that is all I can afford. So I will sign up for the challenge.

Good news my 5k outfit I wore during Marathon weekend fits really well with the 10k.... soo yeah... one outfit done already. My Sven outfit is like made for this since it is about running for carrots... food and frozen themed outfit score!

I need to fix some things with it... my poor sven head is soo flat... need to add some stuffing in to it and I need to secure it more for a 10k vs a 5k.

I don't really like the movie lady and the tramp... but at least it fits the theme... and I have not seen it a lot soo I am good with that one.

The fairies I just think of with princess races...the same with Mulan... we shall see what I end up wearing for the 1/2...

On the plus side merch will not be as much for me this year... lol and maybe it wont be as crazy trying to get in the race... seems like things are starting to settle back down a bit... fingers crossed.

Has anyone here stayed at the Dolphin for Wine and Dine and not had a car?
I'm in the fortunate situation where I don't think I've ever had to rely on a Disney bus for a RunDisney race. I stayed at Shades of Green in 2021 for Wine and Dine and walked to the start (my absolute favorite!), I stayed at a hotel near the start/finish line for the Disneyland half weekend last year so I also walked, and I stayed at the Poly for Dopey this year with a car so I drove to the 5K and 10K and took the monorail for the half and full. I feel like this has skewed my perception of how long I need to allot to get to races 😆
I'm staying at the Dolphin for Wine and Dine this year and wondering how long the bus takes to get to the race. Is it typical to wait a while for a bus to show up?

I’m staying at the Dolphin for the first time for Princess in a few weeks without a car. I usually rent a car and drive to the races so this will be new for me too. I’m sure someone has already had this experience and can answer your question, but if not I can report back in a few weeks!

Thanks! Oh how I wish the Epcot area resorts could just walk to the starting line. My only gripe with Disney races is the rigamarole around getting anywhere. I will probably Uber to the expo on Friday to avoid long bus rides.

I stayed at Dolphin this past W&D weekend, no car, and relied on their buses. The buses at Swan/Dolphin/Swan Reserve use the same setup as other resorts, and seem to run with the same frequency.

I just did the 5k. Sorry, I can't comment on the bus to the race, because I was running with friends staying at BC, so I walked over there and rode with them. I did take the (first) bus back after the race--all the resort buses were lined up at once at that point, so again, no help there. The bus stopped at each of the 3 resorts: Dolphin, Swan and Swan Reserve. I took the bus to the expo though. It was the same setup as other resorts--there was a CM/employee out front managing that. The bus ran every 15 min or so, again, like other resorts.

How long would you say the bus ride to the expo and the bus back to the resort took?

Just a note - historically, for the 5K, none of the buses back to the hotel can leave until every runner has started, which means sometime after 6 a.m. So if you are a faster runner and/or in an earlier corral, you may be waiting around afterwards.

I also wish walking to the start line was easier. I have read that you used to be able to walk from OKW to the Epcot start lines, but not anymore. For the 2023 W&D half I stayed at OKW, and I could hear the start line music/announcements from my room, but wasn't able to walk there! That was annoying.

AFAIK you've never been able to walk to the start line. WDW roads are generally not designed to be walkable -- designated walking paths and jogging trails aside -- and they need everyone to go through a security check. Because it is the middle of the night, they aren't going to staff every possible security point and have staff placed to guide walkers through Epcot (in the case of the Boardwalk resorts). Instead they funnel everyone through as few security points as possible. For most races that's the one main Epcot security under the monorail. For races where the monorail runs, they also staff monorail security at those resorts and a checkpoint at TTC for those who walk over from Poly to take the Epcot monorail directly.

And to answer the question about buses from Swan/Dolphin, as others have said, they run pretty much like all the other resorts. Sometimes the loop can be long if you're the last stop, so you may decide to jump off at one of the other stops and walk. The Boardwalk stop is closest if you cut across the entry and tennis courts or go through the pool and out the back.
