2024 Trips

Yes, we missed meeting up. There will be lots of opportunities.

Disney is not the same as it used to be but we made the most of it. We had the 10 day ticket and just went for 4 or 5 hrs when we went to a theme park. We miss our annual passes and to buy them now is crazy price. We had fun riding the boats and lots of rides on the skyliner and too many people to catch up with.

One of the managers gave us a tour of a studio and 1 bedroom refurbed rooms and quite honestly I prefer the old rooms. In all the rooms the fans are gone as my wife had these attachments with pegs and could hang socks and things and spin it on the fan to dry. The 1 bedrooms have the opening shutters between the bedroom and the bathroom closed in which a lot of people are not happy about.
Agree, we also miss the old Disney but also still had a good time.

It was our first stay at the Boardwalk and ended up with a renovated room, which unfortunately had lots of teething issues. Bed was hard as a rock due to being brand new, heating broke and we had to move to another room, and that heating also broke day 1. It got fixed the next day, the guy had to replace the whole controller in the wall, but we had two pretty cold first nights and didn't help the shower seemed semi warm too so I just had to put on all my warm clothes I packed for Canada haha Teething issues I'm sure will be resolved in time. I think we were the first people to stay in those rooms as the floor had work going on just a few doors down. I looked at the older room as an option to move to, which I also preferred, however my 14 y/o daughter would have had to move from the murphy bed to a sleeper couch, so I stayed put for her sake. Loved the location and feel of the Boardwalk, really enjoyed walking to the parks at night and the overall vibe of the resort.

To date we have now stayed at AKV, BWV, SSR, BLT and RIV. Not all in the same room categories mind you but I think my favorite rooms have been BLT 2-bed lake view, and SSR 1-bed preferred with view over the lake to Disney Springs. I think I have a thing for lakes!

Heading to Hong Kong in September. I had the choice between Hong Kong and Tokyo, and wine I know Tokyo is hands down the better park, I just didn't feel like dealing with that level of crowds, so settled for Hong Kong.

I'm also trying to work out how I can budget another cruise in this year 😅 I'm getting major FOMO not having one booked and knowing that the season is approaching.

I'm already getting FOMO for the upcoming season too! 😢 And there's no way to convince DH to go on 3 Disney trips this year hahaha so my only consolation is my 522 day countdown to the Very Merrytime cruise booked for next December but I'm glad our 2025 WDW plans are in motion at least! even though I really should focus now on booking Tokyo Disney but with the new Fantasy Springs open it feels a little intimidating! 😅

Next year we have no parks trips planned but are doing Aulani in November with in laws (their first trip to Hawaii). Would have done May to leave Nov-Dec open but we spent all of our DVC points and need to book after our use year, which is Aug haha Don't know what I'll do when I retire one day and want to do longer stays. Be gone addonitis!

We have 1 week at Aulani 12th to 20th October.

You need to buy more points.

Last week I listed leftover points and got a booking for 204 points, borrowed 4 points so no need to bank any.

That exactly how I felt about Tokyo. I wanted to stay onsite this trip and just didn't want all that extra stress just to book a holiday. Why are Tokyo onsite hotels so difficult to book?!? 🤣

Right?! It was so stressful just trying to get into the website and the rooms got snatched up soo quickly, I know it’ll be worth it but yeesh it really better be worth it! 😂 a small part of me hopes we won’t love TDR too much just so I won’t have to go through the whole booking ordeal again hahah (famous last words)

I really want to stay onsite there next time, but if it's too much stress then the Tokyo Bay hotels will be a much better option 😅

We also have a Jan 2025 visit. First stop DL staying four nights at our home VGC (first time staying in a 1 Bedroom), then 18 days road trip driving from LA to Orlando - keeping south to avoid any snow. Then 2 weeks at WDW, majority of our time at our home AKV but happy to have at last managed to get a 7 months swap to VGF for the last 4 nights (another resort ticked off). But that seemed a long way off so picked up a 30% off deal on a 3 night cruise, so Disney Magic in just 9 weeks.

We really wanted to road trip from LA to Orlando but it was going to add too much time to the trip. I'll have to live vicariously through you 😂 What stops have you got on the way through?

Agree that it does consume a lot of time, at 18 days we are having to drive every second day to make it. Doing a bit of a National Parks/small town tour: Joshua Tree National Park (CA), Red Rock State Park/Sedona (AZ), White Sands National Park/Las Cruces (NM), Big Bend National Park/Marathon (TX), Fredericksburg (TX), Galveston/Houston (TX), New Orleans (LA), Pensacola (FL). Looking forward to some adventures!

Sounds awesome! We would have done something very similar, but we would have had to drive every day to be able to fit it in, and we would have had to skip Vegas (which I would have been happy with, but is a high priority for my partner). Lots of great adventures to be had for sure!

Everyone in our party agreed that we needed some sort of road trip, so we're going to spend a few days driving from LA to Vegas via Death Valley, Hoover Dam and Route 66. Looking forward to that!

Hong Kong DL for 2 days then Tokyo Disney split stay Halloween (Toy Story Hotel for 3 nights in late Oct) and Christmas (MiraCosta Vacation "...and even more" package 2 nights mid-Nov).

Paris next year

Just got back from Hong Kong, just over 2 weeks ago.... aaaaaand today I booked myself a solo cruise in November 🤣 I can't keep away. Everyone who knows me in real life thinks I'm crazy, but you guys get it.
