Something About Nothing............ #14

Janet…..you’re making “dirty” popular……:rolleyes1 lol……

Yes, salted caramel version is lovely! Little afternoon snifter for us goes down well! ABC also had a version called Michael’s that one of our friends said was nice, but someone else said it’s the cheap version…..nah no thanks to cheap!

lol……I’m definitely a dress wearing gal, but do have my around the home dresses too. I do get teased about it, but…….😛 (closest blowing raspberry icon I could see) to anyone who criticises me!

I’m more the type of housewife that definitely a naughty side…..best way to be!!

Nice on the hotel change!

mac, never use Domino’s in the UK so can’t compare, but that doesn’t sound good!

Late one last night, but worth it! Still haven’t been to the parade yet, but maybe tonight.

Still haven’t needed a jacket or cardigan in the evenings, we fully expected to, but so far still warm enough to do without.

Up early as always, waiting to hear from a friend to see what we’re doing today, if he’s free we’ll go meet him, if not we‘ll come up with something else.

Going to be another hot one……..😁

Pumpkin pies in oven, will take over an hour. Setting up DR next on tap

Stomach yucky from the antibiotics, Greek yogurt & crackers it is for breakfast. Jr bringing back my cookersr ratchet I lent him, will make some bacon & eggs for the guys as late breakfast

The ‘lil for dinner & overnight funs. She requested ‘real food’ gets enough takeout at home lol

I’m told we will be having a knock down, dragged out family Mario showdown this evening. I plan on losing early lol

Anyone else start cooking for holiday today?

Well, I’m a cheap kinda person most of the time. We were Sports last time, Mu this time.
When I’m paying for WDW room OOP (vs usual
DVC) I tend to book AS music if just for a few days

If longer, do WBC thru vacation strategies. I’m too wary to rent them thru vrbo since they still have rental restrictions on their members and so many rentals there canceled a few days out. Can you imagine that scramble to find new room somewhere?

Happy enough to rent Hilton in DS or swolfin but, fees an easy $80+ more a night.

As Mu my fav, followed by AoA little mermaid rooms. Other than gondola, wouldn’t consider paying the $50 More a night at PoP.

I make sure to ck youth group schedules & avoid AS sports as it has always had noisy hordes of boisterous teens/young adults. Does tend to come in cheapest most time I check by $20 or do a night

PS way to send KC home! May be your year after all

Keisha, ya never know. We could certainly need another parade of football players again. Greased light poles and all. Sorry to hear of tummy issues from medicine. Hope can eat normal by lunchtime. Yeah, we had a quiet and nice time at Sports at end of September, as also was the cheapest at the time. Oddly, this time Mu the cheapest, getting military rate too. May look at AA or Pop sometime. Looked into DVC, but decided nope. We are so looking forward to the party, and that candle concert, well, Chip’s too, concert at UO. That’s going to be our first night, some US fun, at SF the first night. Enjoy the days with GD. Cookie making night, with all the rain coming, maybe? Hehe, no takeout for dinner for you. I’m thinking maybe burgers for us. Ground beef picked up with the chicken the other day. Still overcast, but saying rain later in the day. Raining where you are?

Quiet here. So a funny:

decided at the last minute earlier yesterday afternoon to go to Publix and see what turkeys that were being sold.

Found a small bird that would feed us
all set for what’s for dinner Thursday
and now all shopping has been completed for turkey day dinner

it’s just me and mr mac for the meal on thursday

cats included for a bit of turkey for Thursday.

no way would we leave them out for the holiday meal.

I do like turkey!

I had written this yesterday but just saw it never was posted until I had to reregister again this morning

Sometimes I feel like the red headed step child in the dis.

Greetings from soggy central VA. Normally I would hate this much rain, but we desperately need it right now.

Last night DH and I were talking about Universal. I mentioned taking B for her birthday next year. Unfortunately he won’t be able to go at that time due to work. Dh wants to go back to Universal too. I mentioned fall break, started to say that won’t work because we are planning to go for B’s birthday, then realized what’s to stop us from going in October AND November? B and I both have seasonal passes that will still be good then. I am thinking we do 2 short trips - one with dh and one without.

It was what med DREAMED how women should be - have you seen some of those old commercials and videos " educating" women on how to do things? Misogynistic mindset for sure way back then.
Those videos are hilarious and a little bit frightening.

I have of those co-workers too. I finally had to tell him to NOT use that as it was triggering migraines. He is a toxic employee as it is. He got mad and would intentionally spray himself outside of my office.
Thankfully it wasn’t a coworker just a client. I don’t understand the need to use so much cologne/perfume. One time a client had on so much perfume that I could smell it as soon as she opened the door. When she was gone I immediately opened the office door to let air in even though it was the middle of winter.

Hello homies
Sorry about not getting back on sooner but got some bad news last night.
My baby sister that was only 48 years old passed away from stage 4 cervical cancer and with only four of us siblings with money being tight are trying to come up with the money to lay her to rest.
So if you homies could say a prayer for us it would be appreciated.
Prayers for you and your family. 58 is so young.

the mr decided he wanted to do Pop vs AS Mu our first two nights to ride the gondola to MGM.
Hope you have better luck with the gondolas than we did. I took the bus because I hate heights, but dh and B wanted to try the gondola. The lines were awful. This was back when most of the Covid restrictions were in place, so hopefully it is better now.

2 rx: bacitracin ointment and Keflax oral antibiotic

robo will catch this…

I’m allergic to the ‘cillins. Mentioned it to ER doc when he prescribed it. As in true allergic reaction as to breathing issues along with rash, etc.
I sympathize with the ‘cillin reaction. I am allergic too, but I only get the rash. I have never had breathing issues, but it’s also been about 30 years since I last had the medicine.

Anyone else start cooking for holiday today?
I will start tomorrow with the foods that need to be refrigerated overnight and make the hot food Thursday morning. We settled on broccoli salad, squash casserole, apple pie, and chocolate eclair cake as our contributions.

Lunch will be over soon, 2 more hours of work, and then I am off until Monday. I am looking forward to a lazy weekend.

Keep the weather hot for us, Carole, LOL.
My daughter keeps checking the weather for Orlando next week and it says some rain!!! I wish she would just wait til :umbrella:we get there and not worry about rain. Well I managed to put the emoji in the middle of the sentence! I am sooo bad at tech stuff. There's no hope for me and it's a good thing I have Robin coming with me so she can navigate everything with her phone.
Since we are discussing dresses, I have to confess that I have only one dress! :scared: Yep. I bought it on sale a few weeks ago and will probably wear it to my granddaughter's wedding in the Spring. It's cute and looks Springy! I always felt I looked awful in them. I grew up (as a teenager) with everyone wearing pants and jeans, dress slacks, and capris so that's what I usually wear. I wish I could get used to dresses because they are definitely cooler and easy to wear.
I think we tend to wear the fashions we are used to.

Looking forward to our trip and visit:)

Finally able to make a quick stop in! Happy Taco Tuesday!

Quiet night last night. I got some muffins baked. I also whipped up some higher protein bagels for myself for work - and baked 2 loaves of bread last night. So I was a busy little lady in the kitchen. Tonight - is the gym and to cover the sparkled roots that are showing through :sad2:

Quiet day at work here. Our new manager took a well deserved day off - and things seem to be flowing alright. No big fires to put out yet. I'm just currently shredding papers. I was scanning to see if I could find some good Black Friday holiday travel deals - nothing great jumping out at me.

got some bad news last night.
My baby sister that was only 48 years old passed away from stage 4 cervical cancer and with only four of us siblings with money being tight are trying to come up with the money to lay her to rest.
 It is never easy to loose someone - especially a sibling. I hope you can find some comfort in the memories you have.
Enjoying a glass of a salted caramel version of Baileys we bought for the fridge…….nice!!!
Yum!!!! The red velvet is my FAVORITE!!!!! I will be stocking up on a couple of bottles. It's my favorite just to have over ice!
I hope the weather continues to be great for you!
Stomach yucky from the antibiotics, Greek yogurt & crackers it is for breakfast. Jr bringing back my cookersr ratchet I lent him, will make some bacon & eggs for the guys as late breakfast
I hope your stomach issues get better. Breakfast for supper is our favorite meal. It was actually requested for tonight

It's good to get that shopping done early. I never try to shop for groceries the day before. People are CRAZY!!!

Well, It's almost home time!

Have a great evening everyone!

Ah that day before the big meal for many of us. But who do I see? First funny,

IMG_2576.jpeg

Then yep,
IMG_2575.jpeg

Hehe, camels reminding us, that this Wednesday is such a hump of a day, that this week, we get over today, and a Thirsty Thursday Thanksgiving, then that Black Friday fabulous feeling is then another day away.

Wow, seems this year has just gone by so fast. But glad that cold feeling rain, was rain, and even gladder, we were just below that white and purple weather radar blob giving just North of me lots of snow.

And since that weather came from the SW, we are still warm overnight, with the cloud cover remaining today. 50 out as I went outside. And a little pep in my step, as that wind was enough, was my usual quick out and back inside.

But yay, that high weather system arrives in the early morning of tomorrow, so while it means that warmer weather goes away, we still get 40’s in the overnight, and a full wall to wall sunshine day. And still 51 the high. But as all clear skies do, the overnight Thursday will dip into below freezing. Yep, if little one is game for a two store and breakfast stop on Friday morning, our early start will be below freezing. Ah yes, our late Fall season ends with much cooler weather than its start.

Good morning everyone. Have a Most Wonderful Wednesday, and a Thirsty and Most Terrific Thanksgiving Thursday, and then a Most Fabulous Black looking Friday.

Woot! Family is arriving later today, and will be great to see all tomorrow.

I dreamt a cat and a tiny dog appeared at our home and I wanted to take them in, but Tom said no…..so of course we ended up with them, but Claire from Modern Family claimed them as hers????? What the heck is that all about…..

Enjoy the turkey, one of our favourite dinners, moist and full of flavour. We had folks say turkey is dry and tasteless…..always tell them, well, you’re overcoming it!!! Simple…..enjoy it though Mac.

It’s beautiful Ruth, even last night around 10pm in Citywalk, didn’t need a hoodie sitting at Fat Tuesdays.

I do wear casuals of course, comfy leggings are a must have! Never wear jeans, I don’t even own a pair.

See you soon too!

Finally able to make a quick stop in! Happy Taco Tuesday!

Yep, I don’t drink coffee so never use it that way, but over ice and in baking cookies is perfect!

And glad to hear you have the family trip in the planning! Fabulous and something wonderful to look forward to!

Have a great weekend Pumpkin……

Had a wonderful day yesterday, met our friend Raymond for the afternoon which was fabulous! Will see him again next week, looking forward to that very much! The temp showed 91F in the afternoon which felt amazing too.

And met the lovely Llama mama last night in the Club lounge, it was so nice to chat to her and Mr Llama mama…..honestly, we could have chatted all night!

Went to Citywalk, it said 74F, but felt so much warmer…..and not too busy at all.

FaceTimed Kyle 10 minutes ago, he had completed a half marathon this morning! He has taken this week off on vacation and is amping up his training for the marathons next year after being out for so long with his knee. Just him and another couple of folks from the running club, but he did well!! Didn’t even look as though he broke a sweat!

Still deciding what to do today……over for breakfast first though!

Have a lovely Thanksgiving……will be a quiet Friday for us, not a single plan to go to any stores for sales…..my idea of hell!!! And will think twice about the parks too, it’ll be busy!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve. The rain is gone but was a great help with the fires. Last report says they are now 57% contained.

I plan to have a mostly lazy day today. I need to work on my stitching project since it is intended as a Christmas gift. Tonight I will make 2 of the dishes I am taking to dinner tomorrow.

I have asked B to give me a Christmas list. Last night she mentioned earrings and also that she needed a new laundry hamper because her current one is coming apart. It’s almost funny how practical she can be. She will get the earrings for Christmas. She will get a hamper today because she needs a new one.

Since we are discussing dresses, I have to confess that I have only one dress!
I own two. I bought them for graduation and haven’t worn them since. I just don’t like how I look in them.

Quiet night last night. I got some muffins baked. I also whipped up some higher protein bagels for myself for work - and baked 2 loaves of bread last night.
Yum! I bet your kitchen smells heavenly. I love the taste of freshly baked bread but have never tried to make it myself.

I did get a good laugh at this though….can you imagine!!! Nah not for me….
What is truly disturbing is that it was from a high school economics textbook. Imagine trying to teach that to our girls now.

It’s almost 10:00. I guess if I am going to get that hamper I should go ahead and do it now. I will probably think of other things I need to get while out, but I plan to avoid grocery stores today.

Hope your night with GD went well, and I’ll guarantee she loved whatever you cooked!

About the dresses. When I was in higher grades in school, we had to wear a dress or skirt. They had to touch the floor if you were on your knees. Believe me, they actually made us do that and if your skirt didn't touch the floor, you had to go home and change. Maybe Having to wear dresses/skirts had an impression me:)
When we lived in the deep South, everyone dressed to the nines for church. I had dressy church clothes. No one wore slacks to church. Then we moved up here to the frozen North, LOL, and no one dresses up for church. I kind of wish they did, but I guess what is important is that we are AT church:) It was strange for me to get used to. The first time I went to our church, I was dressed up in heels and a dress. No One else was. It was nice slacks or jeans. Yes jeans.
I really felt out of place all dressed up, so now I wear dress slacks and tops. When in Rome, I guess.............
I have always felt that I didn't look good in dresses and that's a factor too.
However, Robin looks good in a gunny sack, LOL.

5 more days:)

It's hump day!!!

It's a very cool, crisp morning here today. I was surprised there was no white stuff covering the ground - as there was definitely a good heavy frost on my car - even though I had started it before heading outside.

Seems to be a quiet day at work today. We are going into our slow season right now. It picks up again after xmas. So I will take the slow days here while they are here.

I am thinking I might make next weekend an extra long weekend again for me and use some vacation bank I have to get my xmas baking done. At my homecare/healthcare job - our 0.6 is leaving so until she is replaced, I'm going to be able to pick up extra hours - if I'm not moved into the position. I don't have much seniority yet, so I'm not holding my breath to be moved into that line. So I will grab all the extra time I can while I can and stash that away

It was a quiet night last night. It was breakfast for supper. NO gym as I started to not feel great and a headache came on quite fast. I went to bed early last night - and woke up early feeling better. So I colored all the sparkles this morning before work. Not sure what tonight has in store - yet :rolleyes1

Good morning everyone. Have a Most Wonderful Wednesday, and a Thirsty and Most Terrific Thanksgiving Thursday, and then a Most Fabulous Black looking Friday.

did get a good laugh at this though….can you imagine!!! Nah not for me…..
:rotfl: ummmmm yeah...I WOULD NOT fall into that role well. I will do many things for my family - but don't expect me to do it.

ALTHOUGH yesterday he texted me about what was for dinner - and referred to me as " his sammich maker" (in a very joking manner ) because I always tell him not to p!&s off the " sammich maker" It's the running joke between us.
It’s almost 10:00. I guess if I am going to get that hamper I should go ahead and do it now. I will probably think of other things I need to get while out, but I plan to avoid grocery stores today.
I would avoid them as well!!!!

Well, I should shuffle more papers around a bit.

Have a great day everyone

Hi Pumpkin:

It's cold here and getting colder! But no fluffy white stuff yet!

I had the same thing for supper last night. I fried potatoes and kielbasa sausage and added eggs to the mix. We love breakfast for supper this way. As a bonus? It's easy:)

Charade: You win the dress category with 2 whole dresses!!!! I do wish I could wear more, and maybe I will be inspired to do it. Kudos on doing a stitching project for Christmas. I usually think about doing one (crocheting/quilting) right before Christmas, and then it's too late, LOL. I am working on a granny square Christmas Tree skirt. I have an old one and the colors of the yarn are really fading out. I have 6 more squares to make and then I will put it all together and make fringe for the edges. Wow, that sounds like a lot, but I will try to get it done before Christmas. There is just too much to do right now with Thanksgiving and a birthday this weekend and then leaving for Orlando on Monday. Things just never slow down for the Holidays, do they?

Keisha: I hope you are feeling better on the antibiotics, and have a safe trip on ? Saturday. Will you be staying at WDW or Universal? We will be at Universal Monday the 27th to Friday the 1st. Maybe there will be a Keishashadow sighting???

I am making dressing, sweet potatoes for TG. Then 2 days later am making chocolate cake for my oldest grandson's birthday. Then it's off to Minneapolis Sunday and our flight out on Monday! Whew, that's a lot to be doing in 5 days:)

I am amazed and impressed that you have all your presents wrapped! Impressive.

Robo: Hope you and your family are doing well after the passing of your families pet. It's never easy.

We are having a lot of black Friday events in our small town. I usually don't go to them because of the crowds, but I might make it to Target to check out a new cordless sweeper for my husband. Am I romantic or what?

Mac: It sounds like a nice, quiet Thanksgiving for you and your hubby:)

LynneG: Yes this year has gone fast, at warp speed! It's just crazy now til Christmas. Hope you have a nice holiday.

Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I won't be posting until back from vacation, so I haven't fallen off the end of the earth:)

My lazy day has turned into a very productive one. I decided to go to Target to get the hamper for B. I figured since I would be on that side of town I might as well pick up a few more things. I started at Sam’s Club to get some household essentials. Next was Banes & Noble to get a gift card for B. They had a really cute Grinch one. Next was Michaels, but they didn’t have what I wanted. Target was next where I got the hamper and an Apple gift card. (B has mostly gift cards on her list.). There is a Starbucks in our Target, so I purchased a Starbucks gift card too. Then I decided to brave the mall. I was looking for a 12 inch black felt square, but haven’t been able to find one in the craft stores. I ended up at JoAnn Fabrics and bought 1/3 yard of felt. It’s way more then I need, but with the sale they have right now it didn’t cost much more than the precut squares cost. On my way home I stopped at 5 Below and picked up a cheap light board. I hope it will help me with stitching on black fabric. My final stop was Kroger. I said I was going to avoid the grocery stores, but realized that I was missing a needed ingredient. I am not going to rest a little while before making some of the food for tomorrow.

When we lived in the deep South, everyone dressed to the nines for church. I had dressy church clothes. No one wore slacks to church.
I grew up in Georgia and we were always expected to wear our “Sunday best” to church and that meant dresses for women. Pants were a no-no. In high school I stopped going to church with my parents and found a more modern church to attend. They didn’t mind women wearing pants. I usually wear jeans to church now. The funny part is that B, who grew up with casual church clothing, insists on dressing up for church.

I was surprised there was no white stuff covering the ground
They are predicting a lot of snow for us this winter. It will probably be a drop in the bucket compared to what you get though.

Kudos on doing a stitching project for Christmas. I usually think about doing one (crocheting/quilting) right before Christmas, and then it's too late,
I think I should have chosen something smaller. This one will be a challenge to complete on time.
I wish I had learned to crochet. My mom tried to teach me but I couldn’t get the hang of it.

I went to Panda Express for linch today and this was my fortune. I’m tempted to send it to my boss.

:wave2:

Went on the hunt for sugar over my lunch. There is a strike where we get our sugar processed - which is causing a sugar shortage :sad2: Seriously...before xmas when they sell the most sugar. I guess....that way now the workers get what they want.

I have a bit of a stock...but if I want to do xmas baking - I won't be baking much - and none to give away like I usually do!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and an amazing trip!

I would...but then again - I have a pretty good relationship with both my managers!

Well...off to laminate some things for the guys in the shop

I’m cutting back on sides this go-round. Picked up some cute mini choc chip cookie sandwiches with white filling, rolled in mini choc chips. That & ambrosia I’ll make in am & the pumpkin pies will do the trick

Spinach dip made. Everything else will be day of.

Looks like packing will be Friday. I hate waiting that long but, ran out of time

Lynne ck car rental, another $28 drop for me.

I’m more the type of housewife that definitely a naughty side…..best way to be!!
Always keep ‘em on their toes
so hopefully it is better now.
Well, I did have increased reaction on repeat of pill. PCP’s nurse was quite annoyed the er prescribed. :confused3Dr put me in anotherRX supposed to take for a week. IDk lol gastric issues with it to, guess that means it’s working?
We settled on broccoli salad, squash casserole, apple pie, and chocolate eclair cake as our contributions.
What sort of broccoli salad. I only know one with sweet Mayo, cheddar cheese & raisins.
Likely getting SW Platinum on sale.
Nice. Im happy with the price I paid on military since no blackout periods & aquatica & parking tossed in…do wish it had the PH perks as to dining etc
Hope your night with GD went well, and I’ll guarantee she loved whatever you cooked!
Lil asked for breakfast egg muffins last night. Basically mini quiches. Remainder packaged up in freezer. Not my cuppa

She always says my lomein tastes like ohanas at WDW. Keeping a secret it’s a copycat one lol
FaceTimed Kyle 10 minutes ago, he had completed a half marathon this morning!
Nice! He really did take to running well
I own two. I bought them for graduation and haven’t worn them since. I just don’t like how I look in them.
I only do jersey sort or shift type cotton for summer. More of a separates sort with a jersey topper/jacket

They had to touch the floor if you were on your knees.
Lol
Ours had to be as long as our fingertips held down to our side. I have short arms hehe

Wasn’t until 6th grade we could wear slacks.
Keisha: I hope you are feeling better on the antibiotics, and have a safe trip on ? Saturday. Will you be staying at WDW or Universal? We will be at Universal Monday the 27th to Friday the 1st. Maybe there will be a Keishashadow sighting???
Yes, Saturday. Sadly, we drive to port canaveral
On 11/27 at 8 am & don’t dock until the 1st…Disney WL. Wah. Would’ve loved to have met you in RL

Have the most wonderful time on your gals’ getaway!
am amazed and impressed that you have all your presents wrapped! Impressive.

oh, it’s a first. Just didn’t want anyone snooping in the present piles when we were away

Ooh chicken parm and pasta for dinner. Little one helped me, and was delicious and full is not the right word. I’m stuffed.

Alarm off, and ready for bed soon enough. DH went to bed without dinner. Woke him to ask if he was hungry, was a no, then back to sleep he went. Kids went out to a drink place I don’t like, but they do. Came back with their drinks. Tea for me. Lemon in it. Luckily, doesn’t keep me up, as finishing it now.

Family members arrived before dinner. Staying with sister, and came with a pie, and a bag of candy, from the local candy place near where they are. We all like the chocolates in the bag.

Was a quiet enough evening. Should be more quiet tomorrow. Hehe, as we picked up coffee after returning a not fitting right item, and saw our closet coffee shop was open from 5:50 am to 3 pm, tomorrow. Guess I’ll be nice and maybe pick up coffee for little one, as I’m sure both DH and I will be up long before the kids get up. At least all routine week day’s usual for tomorrow, will be a lazy one instead.

Charade, sounds like you got most of what you needed. I think most of our grocery stores are open, with shorter hours, on Thanksgiving.

Disney, safe travels, goes to Keisha this weekend too. Last I looked at rental rates, higher than what I have. But I will continue to do that rinse and repeat for a few more weeks. I do like having a rental almost always.

That's the one, but I don't put cheese in it. Mine also has bacon.

The salad and chocolate eclair cake are in the fridge. Tomorrow morning I will make the squash casserole and apple pie. I dread making the pie. I love eating the pie, but I hate the prep and clean up.
