"Official" 2023 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party - Let's Get Spooky!

Party from a little different perspective (DD had a panic attack and we had to leave around 9:40).

We walked over from the CR around 3:45 and while the lines to get in were long they were moving.

The wristband is fabric as opposed to the plastic ones I am used to.

The heat was brutal. And I mean brutal.

As you entered they shunted you to the Main Street bypass and checked bands, gave out the treat bags and M&Ms, and displayed some of the gold statues as Halloween figures. They were cute!
After that we went to J&S and got our DAS. Return time was 21/2 hours later.

Did laugh floor to get out of the heat and then mobile ordered some drinks at Cosmic Rays (again to get out of the heat).
We stayed there from 5:30-6:01.
Everyone we could see were trying for Tron and everyone surrounding us got it. We think the boarding groups started at 128? We were 159 (called at maybe 7:45ish?? I am so sorry I didn’t really pay attention to times!). People around us at Cosmic Rays got 140 and another group was 181.

Met J&S cause my DAS was on my app (many others were paper) and the app stated I could meet them anytime after 4:42 which obviously wasn’t correct but we decided to try around 6:20. The line was very very slow but everyone seemed chill and just happy to meet them. The interaction was top notch and you didn’t feel rushed at all!

Did some trick or treating and then Tron.

When we were done it was time for the first Hocus Pocus show. We were able to see them from the benches just before the bridge into Liberty Square. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay there for the parade because a CM came at 8:47 (this one I remember!!) to rope it off for the VIPs. A gentleman who had been sitting there for much longer than us was not a happy camper. His argument was you can’t just kick people out of unmarked areas 25 minutes before the parade. I agree with him. Put it on the map or indicate with a sign. We ended up just behind the mobility devices viewing area near LTT.

Parade was awesome but didn’t see the end due to DD in flight mode. We made it through the Emporium and were able to cross- we beat the parade.

Walked back to CR and watched the fireworks from our room. Not as great without the castle projections and narration but I was still happy!!

None of the food was interesting to us but people who did purchase seemed happy.

As for ILL I was NOT able to purchase it between 4-6. I don’t know about Genie+.
Hope this helps someone :)

I was there here are some thoughts.

VQ was hard to obtain. I spoke to many that did not get a group. That being said if it was a general standby people would be spending 2-3 hours in that line and CMs would be stuck there until 4am. I got BG 183. It was called just before 10pm. I prioritized the fireworks. Didn’t get into the line until 1045. But it moved surprisingly quickly.
There was a lot of party merch. About 8-10 items of general Mickey and Minnie and an equal number of Hocus Pocus. The return of the party pins was welcome.
If you want to trick or treat. Do not do any of the fantasyland stops early. They are the busiest and the stingiest.
I do not know when the parade was updated (last time I saw it was 2017) but I thoroughly enjoyed the changes.
Fireworks were disappointing compared to the majesty that was Hallowishes. I was cautiously optimistic that they would continue the park surround fireworks given the road closure signs heading into MK. I was letdown.
Poor cast members in those multilayer heavy polyester clothes. They all were troopers out there trying to make everyone’s night enjoyable.
I enjoyed the new wristbands. But unfortunately I played with mine and made it too tight.

Thank you for all your comments! About how long did it take you to get through the Tron queue?
I can’t give an accurate answer as when you have a DAS they let through the ILL line so we weren’t really in a true line. It was longer than my first experience in July which was a true walk on (with ILL). Id say 20/25 minutes?

Curious if they had any of the live actors in Pirates like they did last year?

Also anyone seem reports of how long waits were for some of the meet & greets, outside of Jack/Sally and the Dwarfs? Like Aladdin/Jasmine, Belle/Gaston, Minnie/Daisy/etc?

Blogger reports of pirates roaming Adventureland & interacting with guests but not inside the ride this year.

Are there ride overlays this year? Any reports on the allergy candy situation would also be very much appreciated! Thanks!
My understanding was the allergy friendly treats were token based. Tokens were given at the beginning of each treat “zone”. You turn in your tokens at either of two locations (Liberty Square and maybe city hall). I’m sorry I can’t give more details on what you actually receive!

How did DAS work during the party? Could you get return times on the app? And for tron, how did it work? Did you just show the CM that you have DAS or was there any sort of pushback? Thanks for all the help!

DAS was available during the party.
For Tron you must first have a boarding group. No BG no ride.
Once your group is called you just proceed to the ILL lane and show the CMs (there were a bunch!) your DAS tile. Easy peasy

Pirates were out and about. And singing.
No ride overlays.
Are some pirates on the actual attraction too or just the queues? Also do you lean no ride overlays for pirates or all rides? I thought space mountain typically went pitch black for the parties

For those mentioning the sold out night still looked doable/uncrowded…It’s a trap lol.

I’m not getting excited about possibility of lower crowds. IMO it was a fluke, due to the extreme temperature. No way would Disney leave money on the table via selling less tix to the event.

Tron May have pulled a small contingent of people off the street. Guess we’ll
Know for sure after a few more event reports

The live stream I watched was positioned for the first parade by the train station. They kept commenting on both the lower crowds & the extreme heat

believe they were locals; would think acclimated to the weather. :confused3It could’ve easily caused many to throw in the towel.

Appeared to be many adults heading out before the 1st parade. While there is a contingent of people (stroller brigade) that do leave earlier, haven’t observed a flood of people heading out en masse until after the FW

I always hope the parties will work for my family but they never quite do. My son is neurodivergent and there is just a LOT about the parties that are difficult for him. The whole “funnel people one way as they come in” thing always overwhelms him and starts our night on a rough note. The noise is also a lot and I feel like there are more crowd funneling issues in general due to everyone flocking towards the entertainment. If I go again I’d plan better around avoiding those high crowd spots.

The lightning lane for haunted mansion was backed way up last night so even with the DAS it was a no-go for us. This one was 100% on me though because I forgot about the first parade and the post-parade rush all headed towards HM at the same time.

We were able to see the parade from the bridge near splash to avoid a lot of the crowds which helped.

Wait times for rides were very low. I really liked the merch this year with the exception of the over-saturation of Hocus Pocus merch. Cast members were great. Trick or treat trails were generous. As usual, don’t bother with them first thing. Wait a few hours and the lines die down substantially. I was able to snag the NBC popcorn bucket and I have to say it’s one of my favorites!

Yep, heat was crazy. Like walking through a bowl of soup.

Just saw that pirates are no longer involved in the pirates of the Caribbean attraction with the exception of occasional singing outside the attraction. It’s really sad how Disney continues to charge more while offering less, yet they wonder why less people are showing up…

Live characters are out front and in the queue. Not on the actual attraction this year.

There are party overlays for Teacups, Space and Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. That being said, my understanding is that Space was down the entire night. The vlog I followed rode the People Mover around 11PM and showed fully lit SM.

Correction: Space was down at the end of the night but up with the overlay earlier in the evening.

From what I say, SM was down from about 10 PM and onwards
